Of course the tree appreciates and loves what you call the “tree huggers.” This is not to say stop and never show them your love again. This is but a reminder that there are so many fellow human beings that pass through your life each and every day that could use a hug whether they know it or not.

Sometimes it may be you who was in need of the hug and the other person has passed through your life to oblige. Sometimes life gets so busy you forget how to stay connected. Sometimes you may get lost in your own world that you can only see that which is right in front of you; that which is shouting the loudest for you to see. If you can broaden your visual field, if you can live each day with an open heart, you will find that there are many opportunities to actually physically touch another each day.

We understand you may not only feel crazy hugging strangers but also that some may look at you as if you are. We also realizes some are not at all comfortable with this spontaneous affection and we do not want you to make anyone uncomfortable nor do we want you to forget that there are boundaries that must be respected. Trust your heart; trust the situation and trust what has just transpired; use that as your barometer as to whether or not a hug/embrace would be appropriate. If you do not feel at all capable yet of doing something so “outrageous,” you can start with a touch.

The power of touch has been forgotten in your world. Many of you have become so afraid of “invading” the “space” of others that you have pulled in so far that there are more lonely and touch-starved humans than there are those that are happy with the distance.

Of course trees love and appreciate your affection but they never forget their connection to All/to God. Humans on the other hand need to be reminded now and then that they are not alone and that your world is a safe and love-filled one.
