Our self-care card this week is Wait – Honor your resistance. Sometimes no action is the best action of all.
The woman is seated against a huge tree where the trunk is visible. Another tree trunk with some branches in view is off to her right. A small amount of filtered light gently illuminates the upper part of her face. Her long brown hair is loosely braided on either side of her face with gentle bangs resting on her forehead. A round golden pendant dangles beneath her neck. Her right hand holds the edge of the light olive green scarf that is draped over her head, which flows effortlessly into the sash around her waist. She is wearing a tan v-necked, long sleeved outfit that has a hint of orange in it. The material appears thin and loose and looks like something from biblical times. As her left hand rests on the bark of the tree where she sits upon, her gaze is drawn upwards into the distance, her eyes a reflection of the deep thoughts pondering the struggle of her inner wisdom.
Some times things flow in life, some times they don’t. It is like the pieces of the puzzle don’t quite fit and try as you might, you just can’t finish the puzzle. Then you feel like walking away from it and you have no idea when you’ll have the urge to return to the challenge before you. And you know what, that is ok. You should not feel like a clock is ticking impatiently and if you don’t finish in a given time frame, the pieces of your hard work will be thrown up in the air and you will have to start over. If you feel resistance in forging ahead, then wait, sit back, take a deep breath, and relax. Do nothing. All this means is that there is a reason that you do not feel like taking action. Honor that and let it be. For you do not always have the answers and they will unfold in due time. For this feeling will not last and you will once again be ready to work on the puzzle of life. For there is a gentle calmness within our soul when we can just simply be.
p.s. There will not be a card for next week. We will resume week of 28th.
