Im going to answer this now.
 
Ascension is really not prophesied but is known as the new cycle/beginning and or purging it is a known potential not a prophesy.
 
There are two probabilities happening at this time. One is that the old matrix is trying to get as many people spiritually awakening to buy into the prophesies of failure for ascension in 2012 i.e. the light gaining momentum in bringing balanced change in our world through dramatic events in a small space of time 2011-2013.
 
And there are those who understand the mass effect quantum probability wave of the 2012 (2011-2013) mass ascension portal...
 
2011 - 2013 is the time frame in which the omega point of non-linear 4D Akashic time collapse meets the 3D dimension.
 
Essentially there are those who will ascend and will see everyone else ascend at the same time and there will be those who diverge of and go do another round, which will then converge back to the 2012 time frame portal....

If others are saying that asension isn't going to happen it should rais some serious alarm bells as to the source of the info...do we not define our paths for ourselfves, why would one who has no reason to feel unworthy agree that they cannot ascend simply becasue another persons "light work" dictates it?
(the main thread is very informative and discusses many aspects of the law of attraction without sugar coating so be aware the theme is on supernatural and negative beings etc. I did however find some of it to be enlightening.. being drawn to the thread to shed light there myself)

Think of it like this... the future in which others propose a mass ascension will occur, is a probability wave engineered by faith in what is told .. where as in reality it is actually distracting people irrespective of whether the channel is sincere or not – the channels source may not be sincere it may also be short sighted being an entity that is entangled with that timeline's probability wave and unable to see that there is another outcome for those who set their sight higher.
 
And some blatantly want to mislead others from knowing that ascension can occur NOW.
