This may be a vent so excuse me!!!! I have been a reiki master, intuitive for a few years and have run into the topic of this blog many times. There is no ownership, proprietary or otherwise in healing and/or spiritual knowledge.

I do not own the reiki symbols, nor do I own the system that I learned. Once I am taught reiki, however, my goal then becomes to offer it to others to heal. My rights to claim that I am the only method, the right method, these symbols are correct or not, simply does not matter. If I am healing that is what matters! I do not have a right to carve out a territory and tell others not to cross or that they infringing on me. Reiki is a method, an access to healing energy so that I can heal another person and myself. If I conduct a class good for me. If my neighbor conducts a class right next door - good for her. The sense of territory and competition must be eradicated from the healing arts. If there was a reiki class on every corner - well so what? If there was a healer on every corner so what? Wouldn't that mean that there were more healers or more people learning how to heal? Isn't that what truly matters?

Spiritual knowledge that is channeled or given to benefit all is not proprietary. Guidance that is written for us all is written for us all. It doesn't matter who has said it first or who has said it in their own way, or where it is written or how it shared. We are all arriving at the same place anyway and so to guide, teach and share is our responsibility. I don't own a spiritual technique that empowers others on their journey that spirit provided me, I instead owned the right to share that so others can benefit.

The message should always be more important than the messenger.

There is no competition in the realm of spirit.

When the messenger becomes more important that is when spirituality becomes like religion with its loyalties and divisiveness. All messages for the benefit of all should be shared with all. One could say to give credit where credit is due - but in the humbleness of being a messenger of spirit the need for credit or ownership is non-existent. Why does it matter so much? Is that the ego?

I will not put copyright on my materials any longer or ask for permission to reprint. Call me foolish, but I simply don't care. I will not try to entice people into suscribing to learn more or giving them a tidbit when they need the whole buffet. I know that spirit is in charge of who comes to me for healing, who seeks reiki, and who learns from me. I see this happening all the time and so I put my trust in spirit not in man.

I feel concern about the way reiki and spiritual knowledge is evolving into the proprietary and competitive way of being. Anyone who wants to learn will always be drawn to the right teacher, anyone who wants to be healed will be drawn to the right healer. We must learn to trust in spirit and not put these 3d types of protections onto what is from spirit.

The absence of ego and the spirit of sharing must become more prevalent. If you don't prefer the way I teach reiki then maybe I can refer you to another person or if you want to learn a different method I will help you find another teacher. If you want to see another healer or another intuitive - then wonderful - that means you may get more healing or knowledge or even validation.

We are all arriving at the same core knowledge - that is from source - some of us are getting there in different ways, some are getting there sooner but the first one there should not be placing a flag down but instead opening welcoming arms.
