I am an intuitive, but you could be one too. I believe that everyone has intuition. Wikipedia describes "intuition" in the following way:
"Intuition is the ability to acquire knowledge without inference or the use of reason."
The reason a lot of folks do not step out when they get a "feeling" about one thing or the other is usually because they "reason" it away.
To increase your intuition you simply have to learn to "listen" to it and then step out and act on it.
Reasoning things often gets us in trouble. We overanalyze things to death.
Reasoning things however, in our own lives, often gets us in trouble. We over analyze things to death. Our own lives are different then those we counsel or read for. I asked Spirit one day, why I could not intuit things in my own life as well as those in the lives of my clients. This was the answer I got; "Because if you knew everything in advance that was going to happen to YOU, you would avoid a lot of things that seem hurtful and are actually good spiritual lessons for you. The mountaintop experiences are fun, and full of joy, but it is in the "valleys" of life that you grow!"
Since the time I was a child I had to know "why?" I have been told it drove my parents nuts. They would tell me to do one thing or the other and I had to know "why" they wanted it done a certain way.
Over the years I have learned when we constantly have to know "why" someone did something or didn't do something our imaginations work overtime.
We start to ascribe motives to someone that may not have been there. Then we become "sure" that something is going on. We dwell on that thought. The thoughts we dwell on expand, and that is why we often find ourselves anxious and not able to sleep nights.
Or perhaps we have had some bad experiences in life. We may have something occurring presently that reminds us of something that happened in the past. We then start to believe that the same bad thing is going to happen to us, because "nothing good every happens to us." We think on that, and we think on it and before you know it we bring the negative energy to our situation.
One day I was thinking about something that a person around me was doing and I begin to think, "I bet they are involved with "such and such." The more I thought about that, the more I was convinced I was right. This was not, as I was to learn later, intuition. It was simply me expecting the same thing to happen to me that happened in my past.
Suddenly Spirit stopped me in my tracks when I heard these words, "This is not happening, you are imagining this due to the experience you had with "so and so." Let it go and as you quit throwing energy into those thoughts they will go away and the situation will right itself."
So I forced myself to go on with my life and not "camp out" there with negative thoughts.
Soon enough the situation righted itself, and I was indeed far off the mark with what was going on with the person.
It's a learning process. Life is this school and when the student is ready, as you have heard it said, the teacher appears. Sometimes, the teacher is YOU. When you step out of the situation and look at it as if you were observing someone else, you may think about the situation a whole lot clearer.
We can learn peaceful, serene living when we decide not to try and control situations by having to try and figure everything out.
We can rest assured that as spiritual beings our lives our being led by Spirit. No matter what happens it will all turn out for our good, if we trust in that Higher Power within us to not do us harm and have only our highest good in place for us.
Forget about it! It is all-good for us on our path, even when it doesn't appear to be so.
