“The feeling of not belonging, of not being entirely worthy, of being sometimes hostage to your own sensibilities. Those things speak to me very personally.” Anthony Minghella

The Art of Not-Belonging, it is an Art Form – Its an expression of neither having a foot in this reality or another. We may live between multiple worlds, our minds drawing in energies that are often illusive, even to our own sensibilities.

How then do we cope with ‘being’ in the ‘Real World’ when we do not feel as a part of it?

The Truth is, there are multiple dimensions expressing themselves at every moment – we are constantly expanding and contracting into infinite dimensions of ‘Self.’ Sometimes, with greater clarity, we can feel ourselves as ONE with all things; other times, we feel so devoid and empty, so distant that we lack even the interest to wake up in the morning… Everything is an effort.

When we explore the Authenticity of our lives, and find that we lack the energy to engage in the simplest of conventions, then we can sincerely say that we aren’t living Authentically – we have accepted alien descriptions of the world, and agreed to live by them. These are not our own descriptions, but rather the ones imposed on us and we’ve acquiesced and accepted them as our ‘Truth.’

We can challenge these models by challenging ourselves – our own perception of self – sleep deprivation, hunger/fasting, a prolong journey into the unknown by releasing the conventions of self and giving ourselves to the cosmos – at any cost. After all, we’ve accepted the cost of accepting and embracing a false model of the world…

There are no ‘Right Answers.’ There are only ‘Answers.’ The ones we agree to and accept and live by. They change from person to person…

I can’t tell you how often I sit on a public transit vehicle and see women of different ethnicities sitting across from me, tired and worn – drained of their very life essence, because they live by a specific Life-Code that places the burdens of life on their shoulders – make the money, support the household, raise the children… Care for their elders, compete against modern conventions – without understanding the underlying costs of these conventions – so that they can create a ‘better life’ for their loved ones.

It is heartbreaking, because they will eventually die without ever having lived at all…

There is a level of clarity in this too – because they’ve given themselves to this philosophy. However, they will find no freedom in this path.

Our path is that of Spiritual Freedom and Freedom from Suffering.

If we are suffering, it is only because we have lost our way and accepted an alien description of the world, and not learned to define it in the now, as it appears to us now – and change that definition with the expression changes…

We cannot accept one description and live by another – all has to be in harmony without ourselves – without this harmony, we will never know Freedom.
