Hello :p

I'd like to share an insight I have uncovered by analysing the qualities of an egg and a seed. For the sake of imagery, picture a chicken egg and the seed of a tree.

The chicken's egg is designed to protect the contents of that which is inside--a developing chicken. This bundle of cells has the complete blueprint to become a chicken-by-perfect-design. There is little room for alteration and subtraction when it comes to the growth of this chicken. If the egg was to be put in undesirable conditions, the shell may crack and the developing chicken's chance of survival and growth are severly hindered at that moment. To compensate for this condition, the shell is rigid and hard in order to protect the developing chicken. When the chicken hatches from the egg, it will discard it's protective shell and follow its instinctual steps in order to become what it's blueprint has mapped out--a chicken.

Now, the seed on the other hand is another story. The seed along with many of it's kin have been spread far and wide. Upon arriving in favourable conditions, the seed will begin to germinate and thus start the process of growth into a mature tree. The difference the seed has to the egg is that, where the egg contains a rigid blueprint of what the chicken must grow into; the seed of the tree will grow according to environmental variables. The shape, size, density of the tree will all change according to it's environment. As the plant grows, its shape and the position of its leaves will depend on the position of surrounding objects, along with the levels of moisture and sunlight. The end result of a seed which has completed it's growth into a mature tree will never be identical to another, for the conditions of growth that cause the growing plant to adapt it's self to, will always be different.

In short, the egg is an example of a linear pattern. The tree is an exmaple of a dynamic pattern. The chicken's growth is completely predefined, whereas the tree's growth operates on a script with much room to adapt, while still obeying its blueprint that says: "you are an oak tree" for example.

We can utilize these insights for our own self-development. Much like the seed, we grow and physically/mentally/emotionally adapt to our environment. If we were to build a shell around us in our life, we would not adapt to changing conditions in our environment and have an increased chance to 'crack', thus making our growth difficult. Yet, to be dynamic like the seed, we accept the environment, conditions, and all of the other variables. Through this embrace, we reshape ourselves to be able to prosper, while still sticking to our own blueprint that tells us who/what we are.

As the tree completes it's growth, it sustains its environment and a harmony is developed between the tree and the variables of this environment. This harmony can be represented in infinite forms. :)

Peace.
