Poets speak of love

A poet speaks of love

with the same frequency

and intensity as rain

kissing the earth

with zillions of raindrop kisses.

The earth absorbs what it needs,

allowing the rest to flow to areas

where it is needed and welcomed.

The rain must fall with no thought

of return from the earth

So it is with a poet and love.

It requires nothing from you

to be loved by a poet….

but gratitude.

Poets must love

It is what poet’s do

It is nature’s law.
