The Universe just gave me a lawnmower...

I moved into my home last fall, in my previous place I didn't need a lawnmower, so I didn't have one. In my new home I have grass...lots of grass! It has been a cold winter here in Oregon, and a cold spring, then all of a sudden we get some sun, and the grass starts to grow...a lot! It is so tall it is up to my knees at least. I can just see the neighbors as they drive by, wondering when I will tame that unruly grass. I wonder too...I just didn't have the extra to go an buy a new mower at this time. Now, this wasn't the only thing on my mind of course, but it is one of those things that you do think about, because it affects not only yourself--everyone on the street has to see it. My neighbors on either side of me have beautifully manicured yards, so this is a little more than embarrassing...

Instead of worrying how I would get a mower, I focused on abundance and having much of it. This afternoon I was going through papers in my office when I stumbled upon a printed list of Abundance Affirmations that I printed off of this site. It had fallen under something and looked a bit worse for the wear, but I read them out loud, and truly felt in my heart what each one really MEANT. I let it sink in for a bit and then set it aside. Just as I was getting ready to go out the door a little while later, my doorbell rings. A nice older gentleman greets me and says, "That he didn't want me to take this the wrong way, but he was wondering if I needed a lawnmower"? I said, "Yes! in fact I was working on getting one". He told me he had an extra one and was wondering if I would like it. Of course I would! He went and got it and brought it right down to me. He tried it out to see if it would cut the long grass...it did! I thanked him for his generosity and how much I appreciated the gift. The grass was so long that I filled up the whole yard debris can with the grass in the front yard. Good thing they pick it up tomorrow! I guess tomorrow after they pick it up I will do the back... :o)

Isn't it interesting to think that just a few minutes of reciting the affirmations I am given something that I needed, and something that needed to be given away? My neighbor told me that it helped clear up his shed to give away the mower, so in a way we both were benefited...
