Strange Crop Circle In The Netherlands

This formation was reported by a farmer on May 14, 2008 in the Netherlands.

This is the first time I have seen a crop circle like this. It appears to have burnt the wheat. I am not sure of the purpose for this happening, but wanted to share it and see what you think.
