Unearthing Love
"Bobbie ? " Melanie called out through the house. She looked in his room, the bathroom, the rec room. Where could he have gotten off to.
Bobbie was a very inquisitive and enthuisiactive boy of 4 going on 50. Melanie was his Mum.
Melanie, walked out through the kitchen to the garage, Noticing the tools in disarray. Taking in which tools were thrown about,Melanie was able to discern which tools were missing. A shovel and a hoe.
Hmmm....Walking around the perimeter of the house,in hesitant expectation. An oxymoron eh?
Rounding the side, towards the back, there in the corner. A huge mound of dirt.
Walking cautiously over to the mess on the ground. She hears Bobbies determined voice from within the hole .
"Just a little bit further" Repeated over and over.
Melanie watched Bobbie shovel and scoop the loose dirt into his hands, throwing it out of the hole and on the the top and sides.
The boy was almost unrecognizable to his Mum. Sweat and dirt covered his pristine white polo and khaki's.
Still she silently watched. Finally the boy just stopped. and sitting in the hole that he had patiently dug. He just sat,and smiled.
This perplexed,his already confused Mum.
Gently, ever so gently, Melanie asked Bobbie " honey, what are you doing in the hole"
Bobbie, looked up and grinned "Mommy after searching around all day,in my toy box,on my bookshelf,on the computer,in my scrapbook,I finally found what I had thought I lost." Bobbie looked above to his mum looking down at him in disbelief and concern.
"I found Me " With that he hugged himself and grinned.
May all of your adventures remind you that you are never lost. And remembering who you are is simple. You are LOVE
