Life gets so complicated

When I forget

How simple it really is

Lost yet again

Coming to the rescue

In my Red Cross cap

Mending the wings

Of those who have forgotten they can fly

Only to find

When they leave

Without so much as a good-bye

I have forgotten

I, too can fly

Back to square one

Feeling lost and alone

Must remember

Angels abound

Sidetracked by the drama of others

Always leaves me feeling lonely

When will I learn

As I am not lonely

When they leave me alone

As my angels stand nearby

Yes, back to basics

It must be about me again
