Insolvable Problems by Dr Lynn Anderson

The greatest and most important problems in life are all in a certain sense insolvable. They can never be solved but only outgrown.. – Carl Jung

Many of our problems in life are insolvable. To master our problems we need to resolve to simply transcend our problems and issues and simply let go. It is about detaching from the fear of losing control. We all want to control the outcome of life. But life is uncertain and it is the ability to live peacefully within the uncertainly of life that creates a state of peace and serenity. It is the path of yoga. Our path is simply to resolve to be at peace with ourselves, with other, and with the world no matter what the outcome. This is a mighty task for human. We all want to live in a world of certainty. We all want to know and to control. However what happens next is beyond our control..

Yoga teaches us to let go and simply experience the beauty of being. Yoga is a way of moving the outer focus of your life into the inner focus of your consciousness. It is about becoming consciously aware of self. When this happens you gain spiritual energy or power over your life. This type of power is not control of other people, nor is it control over the world and events. It is the control of your mind and the ability to balance the impulses of your body-mind. Even if an impulse seems to be good if it is controlling you it makes you powerless..

Ultimately yoga teaches us to move from the outer circle of life into the inner circle of self. It is in this inner circle that we learn to heal our body-minds and find freedom. This freedom allows us to experience the moment without the burdens of the past or the fear of the future which are both beyond our control. This is called balance. The problem is that our egos get in the way of this balanced freedom. Therefore our goal in yoga is always to work to rebalance the energy of our being into a state of bliss. It is our highest goal..

There are an infinite number of phases in your life that need to be balanced. You must balance your diet, your love life, your home life, your work life, your social life, your intellectual life, and your spiritual life..

As the Gita (the ancient text) points out: he who eats too much, he who eats not enough; he who sleeps too much, he who sleeps not enough; he who works too much, he who works not enough;will not attain balanced self awareness..

Some things in life can not be solved. Some things we need to resolve to let go and transcend. Self conscious awareness is the key to transcending those things in life that preventing us from growing. The goal of yoga is to strive to grow and learn through the experience of life. This is the path to wisdom. This is the path to peace and serenity..
