Our Soul Story

On our path to healing and our journey to ascension most of us tend to find out at least some of our soul story. And I feel its a really important part of the process. I have found out a hell of a lot about mine, and I believe its been damn useful for me. We may learn about some of our past lives, we may find our what our soul is planning to do here, we may find out our gifts and our talents, we may find out what chakra we are aligned to, we may find out what soul family we are from, what Archangel we are energetically closest to, we may find out whether we are indigo, crystal, rainbow, we may may out we are a walk in, wayshower, lightwarrior or just plain old lightworker! Learning about ourselves in this way can help to broaden our perspectives, can give us direction when we are lost and dont know where to turn, and most importantly as far as Im concerned, it can enable us to move through some of our unresolved past life issues. Also, in our darkest times, it can give us comfort and hope.

However, the problem comes when we identify with our soul and our soul story. For example, if on our path to healing ourselves we discover that our soul's purpose is to help with the shift, then the temptation is to declare ourselves a 'lightworker', and buy into the identity. We may start sending light and love to all and sundry, preach to others how we should be unconditionally loving one another, plant crystals up Mother Gaia's ass, and change our name to our 'soul' name! Or we might be told that we are a Master Healer, in which case we might be tempted to buy into the identity of that of a 'healer', buy some robes, grow a beard, and speak very wisely at all times!

When we buy into the identity of our soul, our soul story, and our soul's purpose, we hinder our progress to healing ourselves and ultimately being in joy. Joy comes from being open to ALL possibilities, which means being open to ALL that the universe would have us be and have us do. Joy comes from being surrendered to the will of the Divine. When we buy into our soul identity, purpose, and story, it ends up determining who we are and what we do. This certainty may give us a level of security and happiness, but ultimately joy comes from embracing uncertainty. Joy ultimately comes from releasing our soul identity, story and purpose to the Divine, and facing our fears instead.

The paradox is, that at a soul level, one of the main purposes we are here, is to ascend. Yet we need to release our soul purpose and identity in order to open the door to our ascension! I'm really not suggesting to people here that finding out your soul story and purpose is not helpful, I believe it is at a certain stage of the journey. But it is just as important to release it, as it is to know its there.

Yours in joy,
Andrew
