A quote I like

Came across this quote from Robert Ingersoll, a well known lecturer in the US in the late 1800's. Sometimes known as "the Pagan prophet", Ingersoll was required to attend his minister father's sermons on Sundays, but on his own time he read the works of Epicurus, Voltaire and Thomas Paine.
On the subject of a religious God, he said this:
"If by any possibility the existence of a power superior to, and independent of, nature shall be demonstrated, there will be time enough to kneel. Until then let us stand erect." (emphasis mine)
