this is true
I had thought of something to write about last night as I was lying in bed but then I lost it. I’ve got no wisdom to impart; not today; maybe never. I don’t know. I feel like I’m being compromised today, by myself.
Perhaps this is part of being human, the self doubt; the way we punish ourselves, thinking we should have endless, undying faith in whatever we believe in; trying, so often, to be more than human, though human is what we are in this world. We do not know how to be more for we have no memory of ever being anything else.
How would we know something else if we even saw it, if we were looking right at it, because it may not be perceivable to our limited array of human tools? How would we know if were right there?
We would not know at all.
This is the way the truth is. As a human we do have the tools for knowing truth but we, more often than not, make the choice to overlook the signs. We choose what we would like to see, maybe based upon what we desire, and we try with all of our might to see it.
We’ve all wanted love so badly from another that we refused to admit to ourselves when all the signs were there that our affection was not returned. We have all been the object of someone else’s affection, too, and, though we did not feel the same, we allowed it to continue because we only wanted to be in love so much. Have we not been there?
It appears to be in our nature to lie to each other in almost every way and, though we know we know the truth, we pretend as though no one else does, knowing they will want to believe the alternative that we offer.
But there is no reason to lie, is there? Why should I pretend to like jalapeño peppers to please someone else who likes jalapeño peppers? What use is there for me in a bond with someone who enjoys something I do not truly enjoy? What use is there for me to remain in the arms of a person whose arms I do not enjoy? What use is there for anyone in this?
Do we pretend to feel differently than we really do out of fear? Do we not lie to those who cannot handle the truth? Is it not true that if you find most people to be liars then, the truth is that, it is you who has the deficiency? Why are people lying to you?
Perhaps that is one reason but it is also a lie.
There is no good reason for it. To be false with another person is to create something that is not really there; therefore it hasn’t been created at all. What use is that to anyone?
We are brothers and sisters, we are all one, and we have inherited the truth whether we choose to see or not. It is our God given right to be loved and to be forgiven. It is our God given duty to love and to forgive. This is who we are. This is what we want. This is what we need.
The more we lie to one another, the more we paint this veil of illusion and the deeper we bury what is real. The more we paint this illusion the more lost we appear to become.
In truth we cannot ever be lost but this does not change the experience of Hell that we continue to create for ourselves. This does not change the pain that we feel while we are here. Though it is not real, and though it means nothing, knowing this does not immediately take us away from here.
Though we are one we appear to be two. Only knowledge is our answer but it does not erase the illusion from the eyes of all. It does not erase the eyes.
Knowing the truth and accepting this only opens the heart for the light of God to enter and thus be projected onto others. What are we if not projectors of what we feel within?
We do not change our lives by changing who we are. We change our lives by changing the way we view others. By giving our forgiveness and our love to others, all others, we claim it for ourselves. By giving these things unconditionally we acknowledge that we are also deserving of it.
When we offer our condemnation and our hatred to our brothers and sisters, we accept it for ourselves. We acknowledge that we are deserving of the same.
Nothing that God creates is deserving of anything but love and grace. When we offer anything else we judge God’s creation and deem it beneath us. This cannot be so.
There will come a time, however far away, when this will be accepted by all. There will come knowledge of what is true, for it always there within each of us. There will come acceptance and we shall then be free. We shall then be one again.
