Close family friends of ours are Chinese. They are probably the most gracious people I have ever known in my life. My husband and I feel absolutely priviledge to know them. This is true of many of the Chinese that I have come to know over the years, both in business and as friends. They do not easily trust folks from outside of their culture, but once they do....you will not find more devout, generous people. That said, I want to tell you a story.
Last night, after being invited for dinner, our friends surprised us with a TV show. They had one of the very first official Chinese copies of the olympic opening and closing ceremonies, delivered directly from China. Now this is not what you and I would have seen on TV, which was incredible enough. This was filmed from every possible conceivable angle, both inside and outside the stadium including aeral shots of the city itself by the official Chinese film crews. Talk about blow your mind. The sycronisity of their performance was flawless, perfection, godly harmony.
As I'm sitting watching, I received a guided message. Looking at my friends, watching the incredible gift of performance that the Chinese gave to the world ...I heard..."They are not the enemy...this is the beginning of the new age. These people are showing the world what cooperation and joining of minds can accomplish."
China presented the most awe inspiring creation that has every been seen on this planet. No doubt about it. It will most likely never again be repeated. The beauty of it was overwhelming. Our Chinese friends, although they live in Canada, glowed with pride at their native country's obvious artistry. No country will ever be able to achieve such grandeur as the Chinese have during this event. They are, in the only way they know how, holding out their hand in friendship to the entire world. Think about this...most of us (not all) live in countries that are democratic. We do not agree with the stiff handed politics that is communism. That we agree on. But if we hold out our hand back in friendship to this Country and say...you know what, we don't agree with everything that you guys are doing, we can agree on some things. It's a start. Lets put our differences aside for just a bit and see what happens. The people of China have something to teach the entire world about cooperation, team work, work ethic, pride and survival. We could all learn by their example. Yes the Tibet thing pisses me off, but again, I'm sure that there are lots of things that make them angry about our foreign policies as well. Imagine for just a moment, what one billion (awakening) Chinese are going to do for the Shift. Just watch them perform Tai Chi and tell me they are not already most of the way there. Incredible! At the end of the evening, our friend looked at my husband and winked and in broken English said, "Yes, us Chinese, we pretty smart eh?" We all laughed. I am so glad that they shared this momentous occasion with us. I am so glad that they are our friends.
