Jesus said...."I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them who cause you ill and persecute you; that you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven' for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust."
Sai Baba says....."Everything is filled with love. There is no other way than love to realize the One Who is the embodiment of Love. The Divine Love is not something that grows at one moment and falls off at another. This Love dwells also in man as Atma (the Spirit). The body has been described as the temple of God. In this temple, Love is enshrined as Atma. Such sacred and pure love can dwell only in a pure heart."
And did not Jesus say the same when He said........ "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God".
St. Paul said.............. "Love is patient, and kind; it is not jealous or conceited, or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not harbour a grudge; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up; its faith, hope and patience never fail for Love is eternal."
Sai Baba says.......... "Love knows no fear and so, love needs no falsehood to support it. Love seeks no reward, love is its own reward. That is the sole gain, the joy of loving and being loved. When love is directed towards God, it is called devotion. Love removes all egoism; the self is forgotten, it is superseded, transcended.
And............ "Love your enemies. They are more useful than your friends, for the enemy will point out your faults, whereas your friend will turn a blind eye on them."
Arnold Toynbee (well known historian) said........."Man ought to follow love; even if it leads to self-sacrifice. Love is the spiritual impulse to bring back harmony with the rest of the universe, from which the self has been estranged by its innate, but not unconquerable self-centredness.
St John the Evangelist said............."If a man say, I love God and hateth his brother, he is a liar; for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from Him, That he who loveth God love his brother also."
And finally, Sai Baba says........"Everyone should respect all others as one's own kin, having the same Divine Spark and the same Divine Nature. When all people become aware that all men are 'cells' of the Divine Body, then there will be no more devaluation of man. Man is a diamond; but he is now being treated by other men and by himself as a piece of glass!"
