Your Astrological Sign May Not Be What You Think It Is
Posted May 31st, 2008 by ariksturgisI'm sure there are those of you who are quite familiar with the information I'd like to share. But for the probable majority of people who believe their zodiac sign is an important part of their lives and state of being, please know that the sign you believe you are may not even be the case!
Ready to discover the new dimensions?
Posted May 10th, 2008 by ariksturgisWhat I love about science is that it can help us truly discover the things that both theoriticians and mystics have been saying for quite some time now -- there are other dimensions out there. Parallel dimensions? Gateways to parallel universes? Right now, who knows. But maybe within the next few years we will actually have answers to this.
When will we speak the same language?
Posted April 29th, 2008 by ariksturgisThis past weekend I found myself sitting in my car for a while, flipping through the local radio stations. I ended up listening to the Catholic station for a little bit. I usually try to avoid stuff like that, but for some reason I kept listening.
Sending out hope to African children exploited in the name of religion
Posted April 21st, 2008 by ariksturgisI just read this article. Not trying to only single out these children, as children all over the world need hope and positive energy sent to them. But I was deeply moved and shocked at what's going on once again in the name of religion.
What they don't/won't teach you at church
Posted April 21st, 2008 by ariksturgisI was reading through some internet articles recently and came across this one regarding the Council of Nicea.
A tale of two motivators
Posted April 21st, 2008 by ariksturgisI encountered two articles today which struck me as being in the same "motivational speaker" vein, but coming from two totally different directions. Actually, if I want to keep the human biology analogy going, perhaps one was from a 'vein' and the other an 'artery' -- one leading away from the heart and the other to the heart, at least in my opinion.
Dreams & religion don't mix
Posted April 21st, 2008 by ariksturgisI read a book recently called 'Conscious Living - Finding Joy In The Real World'. There were a couple of paragraphs I found to be profound and wanted to share them with you:
Spirituality vs. Religion
Posted April 21st, 2008 by ariksturgisI wanted to post about a struggle I have had for a while. It's the title of this post: Spirituality vs. Religion.
For a long time of my life, I thought you couldn't have spirituality without religion. Maybe to some of you that sounds absurd. Yet that's exactly what I thought up until about two years ago or so.
One of my favorite quotes
Posted April 21st, 2008 by ariksturgisThis is certainly not a quote no one has ever heard or read before, but for those of you who haven't...
Dancer Agnes DeMille was struggling with a personal dilemma regarding her own worth. "I confessed that I had a burning desire to be excellent, but no faith that I could be," she is quoted as saying.
What has always bothered me (and others) about organized religion
Posted April 21st, 2008 by ariksturgisI'd like to share with you a transcript of something I read which really nailed down what has annoyed me regarding the whole subject of religion.
I have truly felt the same thing, but this is put so much more eloquently than I could ever write it (and even though Christianity is the only specific religion mentioned here, this really applies to ALL "religions"):
