Stay in the Garden
by Paulette Cola Williams
Flowing water peaceful streams
Mountains distant peaked with snow
Sit atop the evergreens gracefully swaying
Within the winds embracing dancing
Open sky blanket of blue
Beside the light orange yellow ball
Puffs of cotton walking shy
Greeting all a fawn goodbye
Waken fowl to take your flight
Jumping trout add sweet delight
To the canvas of brilliant hues
Born of God symphonic chord
Be still all created embers
Speak without words on your knees
See loves work before you scream
Of all the joy that comes from being
Together men and beast encased
The garden vast and endless feast
Watch as ever we behold the universe unfold
Troubled by our mystical ignorance
Of music playing constantly
To amuse the eyes of the blind
To entertain the ears of the deaf
And calm the restlessness of countless souls
Come hither to my breast and rest
Come lay beneath my starry swathe
The blue green grass offers a cradle
Moonlit highlights upon the hair
Shadowy figures among the rocks
Echoes of life long since past
Still enjoying the courtyard beauty
Ever seeking its consolation
