Gratitude

When you touch upon the feeling of gratitude, you’re touching on a very powerful tool. A tool of great transformation is in your very own possession. Gratitude comes with the vibrational quality that it can be a created emotion. It can be felt of course as a very spontaneous emotion, when you feel grateful over something you have received for example.

"Oh, a tool", you say – and yes, you’ve received and tried on many tools, but the tool of gratitude is one that connects you directly to the source of all that is. It’s more than a tool even. I could call it a key to heaven. It has the power to transform feelings of envy, jealousy, dramatic sensations of depression and many more. It has this power, because it IS a key to heaven. The doors to your spiritual well-being are closed if there is no gratitude. Gratitude can start as a very minute flame, it can be gratitude that the sun shines, or that the snow falls – it could be gratitude that the cat keeps you company, or the fact that you wake up to a new day.

Do not take my word for this, but try it on for yourself. Make every day an exercise in gratitude. See this small flame that you can ignite for yourself grow as you feed it with new ideas of what you could feel grateful for. See the small flame grow each day, as you make it your habit to wake up grateful for your very life, grateful for the small things, even grateful that you have stumbled across this key, grateful that you have accepted this reminder.

Then observe your life closely, see how your whole attitude changes, how envy and sensations of “lacking” will fall away. Observe how you draw more beauty into your life, how everything begins to look different to your eyes. It is not that the beauty wasn’t there before, but you weren’t grateful for it to the extent you could have been. Once you see everything around you through the lens of gratitude, you will see that the gates to heaven are wide open, but you won’t want to march through them yet, you will be just content to see the energy of spirit flood down into your life and illuminate everything around you. That key not only opens the gates of heaven, but brings heaven right down to earth – now what else are you here for ?
