LEVAQUIN PRODUCT LIABILITY including other antibiotics.
Recently I seen a comercial on TV about a class action Law suite against the makers of LEVAQUIN (PDF FILE HERE http://www.fqresearch.org./pdf_files/levaquin_class_action_defense_mdl.pdf ) & ( http://www.fqresearch.org./fda_suit.htm)
Lack of warning that the antibiotic Levaquin causes tendon rupture, and the warnings provided by defendants informing Levaquin users of this risk were inadequate. Fluoroquinolones are antibiotic drugs that are widely prescribed for gastrointestinal, respiratory, and genito-urinary tract infections. Fluoroquinolones presently on the market in the United States include Ciprofloxacin (Cipro; Bayer); Enoxacin (Penetrex; Aventis); Gatifloxacin (Tequin; Bristol-Myers Squibb); Levofloxacin (Levaquin; Ortho-McNeil); Lomefloxacin (Maxaquin; Unimed); Moxifloxacin (Avelox; Bayer); Norfloxacin (Noroxin; Merck); and Ofloxacin (Floxin; Daiichi-Sankyo). Generic versions of two of these drugs, ciprofloxacin and ofloxacin, are also marketed in the United States
I know that I personally have tekn the drugs several times and never told of such adversedrug reactions (ADRS) associated with the drugs.
There are many websites available, just Google them using the key word " LEVAQUIN" . You will be SHOCKED to see how these drugs have permantly effects peoples lives and health.
Please forward this bullitin, especially now since there is this supose threat of "Swine Flu". At least if you are given the drug(s) you will be aware of the symptoms so that you can STOP taking them and contact your Dr.
Side effects include :The Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRS) Associated with the Fluoroquinolones include: Tendon and Muscle Pain , Insomnia Burning Pain, Digestion Disorders, Anxiety, Heart Problems, Vision Disorders, Ringing in the Ears , Rashes, Hyperglycemia Depersonalization, Mental Disorders, Seizures, PAIN , Liver Failure, Stroke Other Adverse Reactions
Check Your Symptoms: You may be having an serious adverse reaction.
DNA Damage
Fluoroquinolones are generally well-tolerated antibiotics in patients. Gastrointestinal, central nervous system, and dermatological adverse events were the most frequent unwanted effects during therapy with these drugs. However, the mechanism of these adverse effects has not yet been elucidated. The aim of this study was to investigate the possible DNA damage-inducing effect of a fluoroquinolone (FQ) antibiotic, ciprofloxacin (CPFX) on primary culture of rat astrocytes. For this purpose, the cultured cells were incubated with various concentrations of CPFX, and DNA damage was monitored by comet assay. Our results showed a concentration-dependent induction of DNA damage by CPFX. Pretreatment of cells with Vitamin E for 4h provided partial protection against this effect. The data obtained in this study suggest that CPFX-induced DNA damage might be related to oxidative stress and should be considered for further mechanistic studies of central nervous system toxicity of CPFX.
