I am not sure this is the category I want but not sure what category to put this under either......Happy Mother's Day before I begin!

Today my son and I went to eat dinner with my sister and family. At dinner we had many interesting conversations, one being how much College Coaches earn. My comment was that I find it ridiculous that our new coach makes $32 million, while a Doctor or Nurse at the same College, and is in charge of saving lives, makes a minimal amout comparitively! What is wrong with our society???? When we put more emphasis on sports vs saving lives???? This is mind bogling to me..

Along the same note, my brother in law has just purchased a riding mower....Gently used but new to him, and in this conversation, he mentions knowing of a John Deere that may go on sale and that he will buy it and sell the "older" one.......My face must have said it all and he responded-" It is all about getting ahead." And with that I retorted, "It is all about contentment."

Maybe I am wrong, but I don't feel it is all about getting ahead materially.... I have my degree,my family, I have my home, my career, my automobile.....I have goals and desires but I have never been materialistic......Are people like this ever content???? Do they understand that contentment comes from within??????? WOW! This mind bogles me......

So do they keep purchasing newer cars, boy toys, homes, etc to get ahead but still lag behind?????????? Please share with me your views! As I am content, right here, right now! I am love! =)
