Thunderous Thor
Although not a sun god, the Norse thunder deity in many respects embodied the qualities that correspond to July 28's astrological influences. For he displayed the self confidence of the sun, the passion of fire, the bravery of a masculine polarity and the stubborn persistence of a fixed quadruplicity. When Thor hurtled happily across the sky in his chariot, the sun blazed, it was said, but when he was furious, the heavens turned as black as his mood, with flashes of lightning, rending the sky every time he hurled his hammer, Mjollnir, which immediately boomeranged back into his iron clad fist. In pre-Christian times, some European peoples wore amulets fashioned in the form of Thor's hammer, in the belief it would protect them from harm. Wear something like this for yourself if you feel the need to.
