1. My first impression: My gut instinct is to close off from this card because I know that Samael is the one angelic being in the deck that represents the shadow or negative ego energy that we as humans tryto ascend from. He's a fallen angel, if you will. I tell my gut instinct to relax and I invoke divine white light to surround my body and chakras and life force from this symbol of negative energy....and I ask myself to remain open to the message as it is important to first hear what is going to be said to about "battles."

2. The symbols that stand out are the cross with a heart on it in the heart chakra region and the cross over the brow chakra. The cross is a symbol of crosses that we bear as well as making a sacrifice. The heart symbolizes the heart of a matter and love. The heart on the cross in the heart chakra would symbolize that we are getting down to the heart of some issue that we are willing to sacrifice for because it is what we believe is right. The cross over the brow chakra symbolizes the burden that comes from wanting to know the real truth, not just what we believe is the truth.

3. Samael means "poison of God" and he was included in this deck to represent the shadow toxic and unhealthy side of human existance. The creator of this angel deck included this angelic being to remind us that sometimes the only way we will face and change something that is not working for us is when we experience some sort of "falling from grace." Samael reminds us that we have a choice of how we will learn our life lessons and if we choose denial and inaction for too long then it will be the pain in life that will teach us how to choose what paths do not lead us into pain and confusion.

4. Putting all this together I get that this card is asking us, "What is it that I have been fighting for that has lost its point and meaning?" What inner or outer battle have you been engaged in out of a sense of principle? This card is saying that whatever this battle is it is having a sacrificing effect on our psyche, where we are willing to be rejected, hurt, oppressed, or judged in order to do what we believe is right action. Even if we are right and justified in fighting the "good fight" this card wants us to take the day and just stop for a little while-and take a break from the struggle. This card wants us to see that this battle has not been easy and I think we need to spend some time being mindful on how this struggle has been affecting your body and energy levels. Spend some time meditating and opeing up to a higher truth, one that will allow you to stop fighting, to stop being justified, and lay that burden down.

This card is from the Ask An Angel Oracle Card Deck by Toni Carmine Salerno. (Interpretted by Lightworker Jackie.)

Each month a different oracle deck is used. January's deck is "Ask Your Angels Oracle Deck" by Toni Carmine Salerno.
