The rhythm of equality
Has gone out of time
You and I, children of one sky
Divided through nonexistent lines
You and I, seeds of a lie
Mother I’m yours
You’re not mine
I feel your heartbeat
Your call to the tribe
Fragments…that’s all they are…every time I even attempt to think about something important everything in my head goes all over leaving me unable to reason anything with myself…and I’ve always questioned everything…I’ve always thought that there are so many layers to everything and I’ve always lost myself in them…
Sow the seeds of justice
Upon the blood soaked soil
Collect the milk of the poison trees
And tell them that it’s honey
Reap your reward
The crop is good
Through the eyes of twisted perception
All other eyes are the same
In barbed gloves
The hands of the system
Hold you by the neck
Away from day
A medicated community
Form neat lines
For their daily shot of ignorance
*a poem about 'them'
Who measures left and right?
A “balanced equation”
Or so they say
Talk of a balance
Talk of glory
Talk of love
And save the people
Who only think like you?
Yeah that’s unity for sure
Thoughts that destroy
Will always live
Like a plastic flower
Forever in bloom
You had your food
You had your schools
You had your mothers’ tit
Welcome
To an individual state
Of evolution
It begins
I feel crumpled wings
Straighten into shape
Something I never knew
I have wings
A journey
That’s sometimes measured
With calculations
Yet always
Speaks one message
Selflessness
Unity
Love
The duality
Of peace and war
Is what we have created
Nature has no ego
Neither a duality
Nature is me
Shifting in circles
I’m flying with love
To the music of the crickets
When the moonlight clears the sky
And dogs roam wild
Painting designs with my fingers
On the infinite canvas
The sky is mine
I’m dancing with the wind
To the melodies of its gentle chant
Don’t stop singing
I’ll fall down
And in my existence
Not exist
Which is to be
Just what you are
The angel with bloodshot eyes
Sat down to watch
Alter egos in play
He saw a sinner become a saviour
As the night became day
He looked at the water turning to blood
The divine miracle flood
Greedy children jumped for joy
With their straws ready to drink
He asked an invisible presence
‘Man what the hell is this?’
‘I tried to talk to these strange folk’
We must let
Destruction destroy itself
Draw a parallel to the chaos
With fingers bleeding love
Let the struggle not be in vain
Let the words of the prophets
Not go unheard
We must open
The eyes of the faceless
Unstitch the lips
Of voices suppressed
Unclog their ears
To the hymns of revolution
The age of truth
It comes closer
With every heart connected
With every mind freed
*Ammi and thathi are sinhalese words that mean mother and farther...just so you know:-)
The great illusion of separation
Divides us, yet connects
Together in our ignorance
Let’s walk hand in hand
To the dying celestial light
Measuring the possibilities of love
One would go mad
Lose themselves in its infinity
Drawing lines to the unconditional
Within walls made by our eyes
In the cosmic storm of consciousness
The electric currents flow
Through a mind so tainted
