Moonleap cushions are stuffed firmly with organic spelt husk. Like buckwheat husk, spelt husk conforms naturally under pressure, but is lighter and more breathable than buckwheat. My wife kindly helped me make the first prototypes of a zafu that I’d been designing in my imagination for many years. It hadn't occurred to us at first that this design could become a product that we could sell to others. The creation was originally for my bum and my bum only, but the more I used the cushion the more I felt that this was something we could share with others.”
“I use my Moonleap cushion for two or three hours every day. On retreats it gets a real test when we sit all day and sometimes half the night. I’m no longer troubled by legs that fall asleep when trying to stand up to join walking meditation after periods of sitting.”

Like this we are giving ourselves the best chance of let go of our habitual bodyMind tension that arises when discomfort comes.”

Helpful Remedies for Cold and Flu Season

Here we are again entering the cold and flu season. Keeping ourselves healthy during this season is very important and I’ve found that natural herbal remedies are excellent preventatives as well as gentle treatment for colds and flu. Natural remedies also avoid the negative side effects of pharmaceuticals. I hope the following recipes are helpful for you and your family.

Health Tea
1 part ginger root
1 part ginkgo leaves
1 part red clover tops
1 part nettle leaves
1 part meadowsweet leaves
1 part calendula
2 parts chamomile
2 parts lavender flowers
1 part peppermint leaves
a pinch of stevia.
Place all herbs in a tea ball or bag, and cover with boiling water. Steep for 10 minutes.
Add sugar, honey, sweetener, milk,
cream or whatever, to taste.
Bronchial Congestion Tea
1 clove crushed garlic
1 oz Anise seeds
1 oz Calendula flowers
3/4 oz Marshmallow root
1/3 oz Licorice root
Crush aniseeds and add to herbs. Pour 1 cup boiling water over
mixture; cover & steep 10 minutes.
Immune Booster Tea
1 clove crushed garlic
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
4 slices fresh ginger root
1/4 teaspoon crushed red peppers
Steep in hot water 10-15 minutes. Sweeten with sugar, honey, stevia to taste.

Autumn Home Soup
Ingredients
6 fresh organic stewed tomatoes
1 pound organic ground beef
1 cup chopped organic onion
1 cup diced organic carrot
1 cup diced organic celery
2 medium diced peeled organic potato
1 bay leaf
1/8 teaspoon dried basil
2 cups water
2 cups organic beef stock
Directions
Puree tomatoes in a blender; set aside. In a large pot, cook beef over medium heat and drain. Stir in tomatoes and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 25-30 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Discard bay leaf before serving. Serves 8-10.

The Postures of Meditation: The Daily Guide to Success
During the ancient times until now, people practice meditation because of its provided advantages. Incorporating meditation as part of your daily life can make a big difference regarding your attitude and outlook in life. But because meditation is a procedure, it involves several steps as well as postures when doing it.
1. Cross legged posture. Various spiritual traditions and meditation teachers suggest or prescribe various meditation physical postures. One of the most popular postures is the cross legged position which includes the lotus position. It is taught in most meditative traditions that the spinal cord must be kept straight. So, slouching is not a good idea. This is because, when you sit straight, it encourages good circulation of what they call as spiritual energy, which is the life force and vital breath.
2. Seated posture. A meditator can sit on the chair with his or her bare feet, as what the New Thought is teaching. In Orthodox Christianity, a meditator can sit on the stool. While in Theravada Buddhism, a meditator is walking in mindfulness. In Sukhothai, Thailand, walking meditation of the monks is called bas-relief. The meditator sits up keeping his or her back straight holding the spine and head in alignment without leaning and thighs parallel to the floor. The hands are rested comfortably on the arm's chair or on the knees.
3. Kneeling posture. The meditator kneels with both knees on the floor keeping his or her buttocks resting on his or her toes and heels which are almost touching. The hands rest on his or his thighs.
4. Lying down posture also known as corpse posture or savasna in yoga. The meditator rests on the carpet keeping his or her legs straight and relaxed. Nevertheless, this is not used more often since it mimics the natural posture of sleeping. The meditator can sometimes fall asleep. This is effective in reducing stress rather than a meditation process.
5. Incorporating mudras or hand gestures. There is a theological meaning behind these gestures. Based on Yogic philosophy, these can affect consciousness. One example is the common hand-position of the Buddhist. The right hand rests on the top of the left hand with touching thumbs similar to the begging bowl of Buddha.
6. Incorporating various repetitive activities in stillness such as humming, chanting, or deep breathing to help in inducing a state of meditation. The Soto Zen practitioners do their meditation in front of a wall with open eyes. However, most mediation schools are assuming that the eyes are half-open or closed.
The duration and frequency of meditation also vary. There are nuns and monks who bow for a lifetime meditation. However, the broadly accepted duration is 20 or 30 minutes. This length may increase as the process goes on as what experienced meditators revealed. To obtain the benefits of meditation, it is advisable to follow the advices and instructions of the spiritual teacher. Most traditions require daily practice. But some may experience frustration or guilt when they failed to do it. Sometimes, meditators may complain about knees, especially during long hours of kneeling on one's knees or sitting with crossed legs.
Keep in mind that perseverance and acceptance are needed to become successful. This can help you during prolonged hours of meditation and increase focus on your everyday lives.

Strawberry Fudge Drops
Strawberry Fudge Drops have the taste of strawberry candy, the texture of smooth fudge, and a great crunch from the addition of toasted nuts. These are also delicious when decorated with chocolate chips or drizzled melted chocolate. This recipe yields 2 dozen candy cups.
Ingredients:
3 cups granulated sugar
4 tbsp strawberry gelatin (like Jell-O brand)
1/8 tsp salt
1.25 cups cream
1 tbsp light corn syrup
2 tbsp butter, cubed
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans or walnuts
Preparation:
1. Set out 2 dozen small candy cups on a baking sheet and set aside. Combine the sugar, gelatin, salt, cream, and corn syrup in a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan and place over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then insert a candy thermometer.
2. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the thermometer reads 240 degrees F (115 C).
3. Once at the proper temperature, remove the pan from the heat and add the cubed butter and the vanilla on top, but don't stir them in. Allow the pan to sit and cool until the outside is lukewarm to the touch. This process will take 30-60 minutes, depending on the temperature of the room.
4. Once lukewarm, add the nuts and use a stiff spoon to start beating the fudge, stirring vigorously. Soon you will notice that the candy becomes thicker, more opaque, and starts to lose its gloss.
5. Once it reaches this stage, begin to spoon the mixture into the candy cups. If you wait too long, the fudge may start to set in the pan, but adding a spoonful or two of very hot water and stirring should loosen it up enough to scoop.
6. If desired, you can top each fudge cup with a toasted nut, or chocolate chips, or you can drizzle them with melted chocolate. Allow the fudge to set at room temperature, then serve. Strawberry Fudge Drops can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

Simply put, glutathione (GSH) is the body’s master antioxidant. It is a small protein produced naturally in our cells when certain required elements are present. The Egyptian Healing Rods were re-discovered by the Russian Count Stefan Colonna Walewski, a famous collector and who owned the shop Esoterica in New York. In the early 1920's Count Walewski was consecrated into a secret society, high in the Russian Caucasus Mountains which combined traditional Yoga with teachings from the ancient mystic tradition of Zoroaestrism. He became intrigued with the cylindrical articles seen clenched in the hands of so many ancient Egyptian sculptures and began investigating them. He published a manuscript of his findings which was made available in the USA in 1955, after his death. A translated Mystery-School manual has been written by Vladimir P. Kovtun, a teacher of physics.
Notes from Walewski's manuscript:
The method used in Ancient Egypt for strengthening energy flows within a human body is shown on the figures demonstrating the second Master-Arkan (see diagram below). Two rods are clutched in the hands of this standing figure. They are clutched with strength, creating an electrical conduit. The hands, holding the rods tightly, free this energy within the body to gather it in unipolar knots and in spinal fluid. The renewal of energetic potential is one 100% and continues for 24 hours.
There were two rods with different chemical compositions. The first one was usually made for the right hand (the Sun Rod) and another one for the left hand (the Moon Rod). The Moon rod serves as a catalyst which strengthens the activity of the Sun rod. These rods of power were known long ago, yet the secret of their construction was known only to a few initiates.
The priests and pharaohs of Ancient Egypt used these differently-filled metal cylinders as an instrument to achieve their goals. The Rods allowing them to realize a step-by-step evolution of their psychic, energetic and physical abilities. These abilities, combined with the help of the Pyramids, were a necessary preparation for "Communication with the Gods."
The Rods, which records indicate that the Pharaohs held during their entire life, harmonized their two main energetic streams, Yin and Yang. Yin-Yang are two energy flows or principles, opposite and unified, different and homogeneous at the same time. In constant association and interaction within the person, Yin-Yang are the two sources of vital energy. When they are properly interacting, the body's vital functions are supported and a person exists without any special problems. The Ancient Egyptians used the Rods with different fillings to regulate the energetic balance of one's body.
This sculptural group symbolically reflects this phenomenon. The Yang cylinder is in the right hand of the god Horus. The male figure symbolizes the flow of Yang energy (the male principle). The deity is an embodiment of the energy plane. The Yin cylinder is in the left hand of the goddess Hathor, who represents the female principle, that is, the flow of Yin energy. In the center is the pharaoh with two energy-giving hands directed towards him. The use of these Rods considerably helped the pharaoh to correct his nervous system energy thereby benefiting the immune system. The Rods had a beneficial effect on his health and physical condition. The correct use of the Rods also enabled the pharaoh, or other user, to prepare himself for "Communion with the Gods".
The cylinder for the right hand was made from copper and associated with the Sun (Yang). The cylinder for the left hand was made from zinc and associated with the Moon (Yin). To reinforce the properties of the cylinders, gold was added to the copper in the appropriate proportion, which is why the "Sun Cylinder" was also called the "Gold Cylinder". Silver was added to the "Moon Cylinder", which was accordingly called the "Silver Cylinder". These cylinders were produced in the proportions of the Golden Section. We first encountered the manuscript of Count Walewski in 1994 when V.P.Kovtun asked us for assistance. He had a school exercise-book given to him by Rouslan Dobrovolsky in Caucas in the 70's. Such notes were widely spread in Tbilisi, having been re-written by worshippers of esoteric knowledge.
Later in New York, we discovered the manuscript "The System of Caucasian Yoga" by the Polish Count Stefan Colonna Walewski published in the United States in 1955. The exercise-book offered to us by V. P. Kovtun was simply a rewritten form of this manuscript.
The editor's preface states: "Count Stefan Colonna Walewski's outer life was that of a well-known collector and dealer in oriental art and antiquities and in anthropological curios. His shop, Esoterica, was not only a famous New York connoisseurs' landmark but the gateway of another world, in which magic, demons and talismans were as real as subways and neon signs. The Count firmly believed that he attracted these strange objects to him by a sort of higher magnetism of which he knew the workings; and his unrivalled collection seemed to prove his point.
Few knew, however, that behind Count Walewski's constant kindnesses to his fellow man and his expert knowledge -- the two main facets of his external life -- there lay an intense inner life and search for life's most hidden secrets. Few knew that before the 1920s, in the Caucasus mountains (between the Black and Caspian seas, on the border between Turkey and Russia) he had been vouchsafed some of those secrets by two initiates of a rarely encountered secret society, which combined indigenous doctrines and those of yoga with teachings stemming from a mystical tradition of ancient Zoroastrianism. Walewski never saw his teachers again, and he himself assumed no personal credit for their teachings which were merely handed on to him under oath not to reveal the source.

"IX L ARCANE. Recharging nervous energy. A way used in ancient Egypt for strengthening of currents of energy within the body. It was shown in the figures, using the second Master Arcane exercise. Two rods clasped in the hands of standing figures, were the grips of tremendous power, akin to electricity (secondary electricity), which when the grips were held in the hand released this energy into the body, to be stored in unipolar ganglias, and spinal fluid, raising the potential of energy 100%, and lasting for a day and a night, 24 hours.
"The rods were two in number and of different compositions. One generally to be used in the right, another in the left hand. One having the power of the Sun, another the power of the Moon.
'The Sun rod of Power is composed of hard coal (carbon) specially hardened, in which the structure of the molecules is changed the way the molecules of iron are changed when converting iron into magness. (To convert iron into magness, the structure of iron molecule's is changed by re-crystallization process, hardening, then it will retain the magnetism.) The process of hardening is heating to high temperature and then instantly cooling by submerging in water. When taking Holy Tea the objective is to regulate your bowel movements to two or three each day in order to keep the toxic waste flowing and not sitting in your digestive system for long. Battle of The Bulge
You may have heard the expression "midriff bulge" used to describe a person with an extended or protruding abdomen. Other terms people use are "beer belly", "pot belly", and "beer gut". The medical term for this is bloat.
Having too much fat around the mid-section is not the only cause of this extension. Most likely it's a serious build-up of toxic fecal matter in the intestines and colon that is contributing to a chronic outward swelling of the person's belly.
This condition called bloating is NOT the stomach making the belly stick out, for the stomach is located ABOVE the transverse colon, beside the liver. Bloat is the COLON (large intestine) expanding due to the impacted fecal matter building up inside.

It is rumored that when the beloved singer/actor Elvis Presley died, the autopsy revealed that his bloated body had about 50 pounds of impacted fecal matter in his digestive tract! The average healthy person who is not constipated will carry about 5 pounds of fecal matter in their intestines and colon at any one time. Most people who are aware of the need for "colon cleansing" do not realize that this layer of toxic waste called mucoid plaque can build up throughout their digestive tract from stomach to rectum. In a normal, healthy body, the passing of stools should be almost effortless. You feel the urge, you sit on a toilet, and the stools come out on their own. If you are waiting, pushing, and straining to get them out, your body is not normal or healthy. You are constipated.
In earlier times when people lived an active life working on farms and ate only unprocessed foods and unpasteurized dairy products, the typical transit time of food through the digestive tract was 15 hours. Today, with processed foods lacking enzymes and natural fibers and loaded with refined sugar, combined with a more sedentary and less active lifestyle, the transit time is slowing down to 70 hours!
That increase in "transit time" from 15 to 70 hours means that for several DAYS toxic waste is remaining inside your body, not just for 15 hours or less. Directions for Use of Holy Tea
You may adjust the amount of Holy Tea you consume daily to suit your body’s needs. Don't worry, it tastes good! It tastes like a regular tea or herbal tea - not like "medicine" - and you can even mix it with your favorite teas. You may not even want to add any sugar or honey.
Two bags of Holy Tea will produce one gallon. If you drink one 8-ounce glass or mug of Holy Tea twice per day (with 2 meals) this will last for 8 days. Thus a pack of 8 bags of Holy Tea will last for one month (32 days). If you drink an extra 4-ounce glass of Holy Tea with a snack then 2 bags of Holy Tea will last about 6 days, and 8 bags (4 gallons) will last for about 24 days.
IMPORTANT:
The Holy Tea must be steeped in water which is HOT - close to the boiling point, but NOT BOILING.
And DO NOT MICROWAVE the tea mixture. Excessive heat will destroy the important enzymes in the tea.
If using a kettle to heat the water, remove it after you first hear the bubbling noises or see steam. If the water has already come to a rapid boil, let it set for a few minutes to cool and stop the boiling.
Preparing Your Holy Tea Beverage To Taste
To make the regular strength Holy Tea, start by making one OR one-half gallon (that's 4 quarts OR 2 quarts) at a time. You can start with plain drinking water heated to a slow boil in a saucepan, or start by making 2 or 4 quarts of your favorite brand of decaffeinated or herbal tea, to which you will later add TWO bags of Holy Tea. Starting with just a half-gallon (2 quarts) of water or the regular tea will produce a stronger-tasting and more potent Holy Tea. At first, you may wish to start with a weaker mixture (use one gallon or 4 quarts of water) to get used to the Holy Tea. Later, increase the strength (use less than 4 quarts per 2 bags of Holy Tea) to your personal taste and desired potency.
Heat pure water in a large saucepan or pot, and as soon as the plain water has stopped boiling rapidly, or the regular tea has finished steeping and you have removed the regular tea bags (and have sweetened the tea and/or added lemon, if desired) drop TWO of the Holy Tea bags into the liquid while it is still very hot. Always use TWO bags to make a half-gallon or full gallon of Holy Tea at a time. Adjust the amount regular tea in the mixture if desired, but do not use less than TWO Holy Tea bags.
Cover the new Holy Tea mixture and let it sit overnight - or let it steep for AT LEAST 4 to 6 hours - to allow the herbs to infuse the mixture. Then, without removing the Holy Tea bags, pour the entire mixture into a container with an airtight lid (such as a Tupperware jug) and refrigerate your new batch of Holy Tea. Leave the Holy Tea bags in until you have consumed all of the liquid Holy Tea mixture. Then you can let them dry out, remove the edible dried herbs, and sprinkle them into various foods such as spaghetti sauce or salads.
You can drink your Holy Tea cold or as an iced tea, or even add it to a favorite juice if desired. Drinking your Tea at body temperature is actually the most beneficial.
Remember, DO NOT MICROWAVE the Holy Tea! Microwaves can destroy the natural enzymes and render some important ingredients ineffective. If you wish to drink your Holy Tea warm or hot, you can heat it in a saucepan or tea kettle - but do NOT heat the mixture to the boiling point, for boiling can also destroy enzymes. (You can use a refrigerated concentrate, and add it to hot water or hot tea. Make 1 quart instead of 4 quarts of Holy Tea using 2 bags, refrigerate, then add 2 ounces of the cold concentrate to 6 ounces of hot water or hot tea.)
Holy Tea contains some natural herbs which act as a cathartic. Women who are pregnant or nursing, persons who are elderly or very young, and persons with an existing medical condition or undergoing treatment with drugs should consult their personal physician before using Holy Tea or any herbal product. Suggested Use of Holy Tea
Always drink the Holy Tea while eating food - not on its own. Drink about 8 ounces with meals like breakfast and dinner, and drink about 4 ounces with a snack or a light lunch. A standard teacup holds about 6 ounces.
If you need to drink more or less of your Holy Tea beverage, you are free to do so. But remember that it is a cathartic and detoxifying tea, so it is possible to experience a little discomfort during the first few days when your body is going through the initial cleansing and elimination of accumulated toxins and old waste material.
You will likely be going to the bathroom more frequently for a few days, so plan ahead if you are not at home. Don't worry, you are not going to be running to the bathroom! You will just be getting a natural urge to go more often than before - perhaps two to three times per day. And it should be natural and effortless, with no straining. If you work Monday to Friday, it may be best to start taking your Holy Tea on a Friday after work, so you can be at home over the weekend.
As you continue to drink your Holy Tea every day, you will be removing more and more toxins and impacted fecal matter from your colon, and you will start to feel better and have more energy. The more that has built up over the years, the longer it will take to clean out a larger amount. We suggest at least 3 months of drinking Holy Tea every day. Many users keep drinking it for years.
As your colon is being cleared of the material that is clogging it, you should see your abdomen start to shrink. You will lose inches from your waist, and you will lose pounds of excess weight.
Drink More Water!
IMPORTANT: You also need to drink 8 cups (64 oz.) of clean water daily, which is recommended for everyone every day, whether you have any of the above mentioned conditions or not! Not drinking enough water reduces your body's ability to get rid of wastes and toxins. It is especially important while detoxing your body to give it lots of water to help your kidneys, sweat glands, lymphatic system, lungs, and digestive tract flush out the toxins and waste material.
Water is the "universal solvent" which acts as the carrier to transport nutrients into your cells and flush waste material out of your cells.
