Toos Nijenhuis, a fifty four year old physiotherapist and mother of five from Holland, was tortured, raped and used experimentally from the age of four years old by wealthy and powerful men around the world, including top officials of churches and governments.
And, Nijenhuis claims, these crimes are continuing today, including the ritual sacrifice of children in rural Holland.
On May 7, Ms. Nijenhuis accompanied Kevin Annett, Mel Ve and other investigators to a forested site near to Zwolle where such child murders took place as recently as November, 2010, according to Ms. Nijenhuis.
Among the perpetrators who are named in these crimes and who allegedly assaulted Toos Nijenhuis are Prince Bernhard of Holland, who was the grandfather of the newly-crowned Dutch King Alexander, and a founder of the Bilderberger Group; Catholic Cardinal Bernard Alfrink of Utrecht, and members of the British Royal Family.
These assaults occurred in Holland, Scotland, and a military experimental base in Melbourne, Australia, where Toos was subjected to what appears to be pain threshold and behaviour modification experiments. She also witnessed the torture and murder of other children.

In response to Toos Nijenhuis' horrific revelations, a Dutch-based group was formed on May 7 in Zwolle to investigate and prosecute child traffickers and ritual child sacrifice.
In conjunction with Ms. Nijenhuis, Freedom Central, the ITCCS and others, this new group will launch a Common Law Court case into these crimes during the coming year. Key alleged perpetrators will be publicly named and issued a Summons to appear before the Court.

Reclusive singer Lauryn Hill has been ordered by a judge to undergo counseling to deal with her ‘conspiracy theories’ following Hill being sentenced to three months in jail followed by three months of home confinement for refusing to pay a half-million dollars to the IRS. Hill is married to Rohan Marley, the son of the late great reggae singer Bob Marley and plans on releasing a new album ‘The Return’ in the near future. An interesting new video below.

During her trial, Hill was ordered by the judge in Newark, New Jersey to undergo counselling because of her conspiracy theories – including that artists are being oppressed by a plot involving the military and media.
A short while before Hill was arrested last year, she penned a diatribe against the music industry where in the rant she blasted pop music and the entire music industry. Many people have shared that the music industry in America is ‘illuminati’; is this more proof? Is re-education and counseling over ‘conspiracy theories’ the ‘new normal’ in America?

During her trial, Hill claimed she is still forced to live under the pernicious economic hierarchy imposed by the slave trade.

The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) released video Monday of a “behemoth hurricane” swirling near the planet Saturn’s north pole. According to NASA.gov, the images were captured by the Cassini spacecraft and show a storm that is much larger and which has winds that spin much faster that a hurricane on Earth.
The diameter of the storm’s eye spans a distance of about 1,250 miles (2,000 km), roughly the distance from Washington, DC to Dallas, Texas, estimated the Washington Post. Just the eye of the Saturn storm is 30 percent larger than all of Hurricane Sandy, which struck the Northeastern U.S. in late fall of 2012.
“We did a double take when we saw this vortex because it looks so much like a hurricane on Earth,” said Andrew Ingersoll, a member of Cassini’s imaging team. “But there it is at Saturn, on a much larger scale, and it is somehow getting by on the small amounts of water vapor in Saturn’s hydrogen atmosphere.”
Learning about how a storm such as this one can form in an environment with so little liquid water could teach scientists a great deal about how hurricanes form on Earth. Terrestrial hurricanes form and feed on ocean water, which is believed to be in extremely short supply on the sixth planet from the sun.
Winds in the storm’s outer edge are estimated to be moving at about 330 miles per hour, which is 150 meters per second. Like a terrestrial hurricane, the Saturn storm’s eye is largely clear of clouds and appears relatively calm compared to the rest of the storm.
The storm is apparently stuck at the pole and has been churning for years. It only recently became visible to the space probe when the Saturn ended its north polar winter and tilted on its axis so that the north pole is closer to the sun. Changes in Cassini’s orbital perspective also made the new view of the storm possible.
“You cannot see the polar regions very well from an equatorial orbit. Observing the planet from different vantage points reveals more about the cloud layers that cover the entirety of the planet,” said Scott Edgington, a Cassini deputy project scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

Many people are wondering what is the situation regarding the Event and what is the reason for all delays.
As I have said many times, the Event can not happen until the non-physical negative forces are dealt with. Removing them requires a lot of hard work without immediate spectacular results that many are expecting. The Light forces had a plan to trigger the Event in 2012 inside one of the Windows of Opportunity. That would require conscious cooperation and a degree of unity inside the Liberation movement on the surface of the planet. As you all know, that unity did not manifest and in addition to that, certain key individuals made wrong decisions in crucial moments, as it often happens within the surface population.
The Light forces beyond the surface of the planet have thus chosen a more waterproof approach that does not rely so much on the surface population. They are removing obstacles one after the other until the situation in ripe for the Event to occur. This approach takes longer, but it is much more certain to be successful.
Until the breakthrough, the non-physical Archons are still manipulating the Liberation movement on the surface of this planet. Current Keenan/OPPT soap opera is a very good example of that. None of these two groups has any real geopolitical power so you can disregard their conflict entirely and rather focus more on what you yourself can do to assist in the planetary liberation.
Many people are also expecting the RV to happen any day now. This is not how the transformation of the financial system will happen. The Benefits of Pineal Gland Activation
Nestled deep inside the middle of your brain rests the pineal gland. The Divine Right of this charka deals with the right to know. We all have a divine right to know the truth and to hear the truth and to be taught the truth. Falsehood impairs this charka. Most religious people have closed and/or damaged chakras due to the cords the religious leaders have knowingly or unknowingly placed there. Your spiritual energy is siphoned off at the site of the pineal gland (Seventh Chakra). Christ (Consciousness) is also crucified at the Third Eye (Sixth Chakra).
The identity this charka is concerned with is Universal identity. You come into your universal and galactic Self at this charka. Your physical identity begins at your First Chakra (adrenal gland; sexual glands) which is your most basic identity. You then move up the spinal cord and ladder of chakras to your emotional identity (2nd chakra), ego identity (3rd Chakra) and so on.
Now every charka (energy center) has a demon. The demon of the Seventh Chakra is ATTACHMENT (esp. attachment to things, the material). The first demon is the most basic demon - FEAR! Fear is followed by other demons - guilt (2nd chakra), shame (3rd chakra), grief (4th chakra) and so on.
Deficiencies of the Seventh Chakra include learning disabilities, spiritual skepticism, limited beliefs, materialism, apathy, pessimism, negativity, money-mindedness, etc.
The Pineal Gland is the seat of Christ Consciousness. It is the site of your Third Eye which is located between your two physical eyes. The metaphysical qualities or attributes of the Seventh Chakra include link with the Higher Self, ability to access the Akashic Records (Book of Life), and spirituality.
When you physically die (transcend the flesh-body), your soul exits the body via the Seventh Chakra. The soul also leaves during astral projection and dream state via the Seventh Chakra.
The Seventh Chakra deciphers and decodes the mysteries of life. It links us with the Universe.
This chakra is very important and many of the spellbinding writings of the brilliant SunofTruth (and my own) bear witness to the importance of this chakra (energy center, vortex) and physical gland which is why it is important for you to know how to tap into it, to stimulate it for your spiritual growth and development.
If you want to meet with God face to face like Jacob did in Genesis 32:30 of the Bible, you have to tap into the Pineal Gland. The isle of pe-ni-el of Genesis 32 is a corruption of pi-ne-al. The isle of pe-ni-el in Genesis 32 is the Pineal Gland which is a pea-sized gland that has shrunken in the average human being due to degeneration.
The Pineal Gland secretes various hormones, two of which have been identified as Melatonin and Serotonin. Melatonin is secreted between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. and Serotonin between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. Both are anti-aging in nature and effect, especially Melatonin. Serotonin is a natural anti-depressant. Serotonin is secreted during sunlight hours. When melanated individuals (Black people) don´t get enough sunlight, they naturally get depressed. This is due to lack of Serotonin. When melanated individuals don´t get enough sleep during night- time, they prematurely age, the exception being the very creative people (e.g. Quaquaverals). People who get off into deep and vivid dreams secrete a lot of Melatonin.
Count Dracula had good reason for sleeping in a pine coffin. The darkness and the pinewood caused his pineal to secrete extraordinary amounts of Melatonin which kept the Prince of Darkness looking young with a youthful appearance though he was thousands of years old according to lore. This is symbolism here for the wise.
You escape from or leave the Matrix (World of Illusion) via the Pineal Gland. The back of the head where the Sixth Chakra (Pineal Gland) is located is called the Medulla Oblongata. In the movie The Matrix, Neo and crew leave the spaceship (brain, mind) via the Medulla Oblongata
The best tools for Pineal stimulation and activation are crystals. The following crystals or stones placed over the Third Eye (6th charka, which also corresponds to the Pineal Gland). These stones include: Amethyst, Charoite, Dumitorite, Pietersite, Lodestone, Quartz, Purple Fluorite, Purple Sapphire, Dragonite, Moonstone, Purple Lepidolite, Rhyolite, and Ruby. These stones should be left on the Third Eye for a minimum of 15 minutes and a maximum of 60-90 minutes. However, 30-45 minutes will get the job done. This can be done daily. It can be done during meditation or charka balancing.
Essential oils are also helpful tools in stimulating and activating the Pineal Gland. Essential oils of Mugwort, Sandalwood, Lavender, Frankincense, Myrrh, Pine, Oakmoss, and Himalayan Cedar all help to stimulate the Pineal Gland. A small drop of oil rubbed directly over the Third Chakra will do the job. Inhaling the oils or burning them in a diffuser will also stimulate and activate this gland.
Herbs also help to stimulate and activate this gland. They include Chamomile, Pine Bark, Lavender bud, Wild Indigo Bark, Violet, Licorice, and Ginseng.
Magnetic therapy can also be utilized for Pineal Gland stimulation and activation. Tape or stick a small gold-plated powerful gauss strength magnet over this area and wear for a few hours throughout the day. This can be done daily if you like or a few times during the week.
Chanting will also stimulate and activate this gland.
A nice morning exercise to stimulate and activate the Pineal Gland includes holding the pointed side of a Quartz or Amethyst crystal (obelisk) to the Pineal Gland while facing or looking up to the sun. All you need is 5 minutes a day of this exercise. It is very powerful.
Deep breathing also stimulates and activates the Pineal Gland. So does meditation.
Sacred sex (greatly practiced in Tantric and Taoist cultures) is also a powerful tool to stimulate and activate the Pineal Gland. The natural sex juices/fluids (known as milk snow, jade spring, Yoni juice, etc.) of the female (especially a loyal and long-tenured mate/wife), and especially the healthy and spiritually conscious and Goddess-attuned female, is a nectar that greatly activates a male´s Pineal Gland and enhances his intuitive faculty. However, cunnilingus is usually the medium for such endeavor and goal, though it can also be done with conscious effort of concentrating the energy of the female Yoni up to the male Sixth Chakra by the male (and also by the female in tandem). This (information, suggestion, and/or practice) may be taboo for many individuals, but I will still offer the information for the spiritually and sexually mature (and curious) individual(s) out there.
In closing, please know that most people have calcified Pineal Glands due to deficient and degenerate diet high in meat products (slaughtered animal flesh savagely cooked), dairy products (liquified and processed cow snot/pus) and refined grains and starch products, not to mention acidic and effervescent beverages drank daily.
You can see God face to face and have your life PRESERVED, but only on the isle of pe-ni-el (Pineal).

THE HUNT for some of the most wanted stuff in the universe took a new twist this week with the first results from a high-profile, space-based dark matter detector. The results are inconclusive, but, if combined with recent theory, they hint at something exciting. Could the universe have a dark side, complete with its own force, a zoo of particles and even a shadow version of the Milky Way?
"There could be a mirror world where interesting things are going on," says James Bullock of the University of California at Irvine, who has been working on the idea of a "dark sector" for a while. "It means nature is much richer than we would otherwise know," he says.
The dark sector could help explain why we've failed to detect dark matter on Earth so far, but it would also demand a radical shift in our understanding of the stuff.
The way stars and galaxies move shows there is more mass present than we can see. To account for this, 80 per cent of the universe's matter must be dark. No wonder physicists are desperate to find it. The trouble is the stuff stubbornly refuses to interact with ordinary matter, except through gravity, so has not been conclusively detected.
The most favoured models say it is made up of a new, weakly interacting massive particle. These WIMPs collide in space, annihilating and decaying into ordinary particles, including electrons and their antimatter counterparts, positrons.
Since May 2011, the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer has been sitting on the International Space Station, sifting through billions of charged cosmic rays for evidence of those annihilations. If it sees an excessive number of positrons relative to electrons at a certain energy, that might just be a compelling sign of dark matter.
On 3 April, AMS designer Samuel Ting of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology reported an expected rise in the ratio of positrons to electrons at energies between 10 and 350 gigaelectronvolts. Frustratingly though, the upturn is not yet sharp enough to attribute to dark matter collisions since the extra positrons could still come from more mundane sources like pulsars. "It's an indication, but by no means is it a proof," Ting says.
In the meantime, a further quirk in the results suggests that if the particles are dark matter, they may not be vanilla WIMPs.
The simplest models predict there should be only a certain amount of dark matter hanging around, and that WIMPs should rarely meet. But AMS has spotted too many positrons for that – so what could make WIMPs collide in space more often than expected?
In 2008, when the PAMELA satellite found a similar excess of positrons, Neal Weiner of New York University and colleagues suggested that WIMPs are drawn together under a force of their own. This new force increases their collision rate but would have escaped our gaze until now because it ignores ordinary matter entirely.
"The basic model is very simple – we know that there are forces in nature, so the idea that dark matter might have its own is pretty easy to consider," Weiner says. The fact that AMS, which makes much more precise measurements of the positron-electron ratio, still sees too many positrons, further invigorates this idea, he says. But the dark force models still need to describe how galaxies and clusters form and interact, which classic dark matter already explains very well.
Enter Lisa Randall of Harvard University and colleagues, who last month proposed a way around this by suggesting that there might be two different types of WIMP. Under their model, 85 per cent would be the classic, non-interacting kind, but 15 per cent would be separate particles that interact with each other via a new dark force, akin to the one proposed by Weiner. This removes some of the difficulties with introducing a new dark force while preserving the benefit of a "boost factor" in the rate of WIMP annihilation – via the 15 per cent of self-interacting WIMPs. It would also require a second new particle, a kind of dark photon.
Randall's model was created before the AMS result came out, to explain another whiff of dark matter. That signal, an excess of gamma rays seen by the Fermi satellite, also required a boost factor for it to be attributed to WIMP annihilation. That signal is now fading, but, somewhat serendipitously, Randall's model could be tweaked to fit with the AMS positron excess as well.
If her model is correct, the consequences would be pretty interesting. Observations of the orbits of stars around galaxies suggest that all galaxies, including the Milky Way, are surrounded by a spherical cloud of dark matter (see diagram). But if a fraction of dark matter particles interact with each other, they would combine into atom-like structures and eventually collapse into a spinning disc. This is how ordinary matter formed the Milky Way. The resulting shadow Milky Way could be spinning right along with the visible one, or it could end up tilted at a slight angle, she adds. Randall is also open to the idea of more particles, just as normal matter consists of a slew of subatomic entities, including quarks, electrons and neutrinos.
If it all sounds too radical, that may be a good thing: most direct detection experiments, which wait for an ordinary WIMP to collide with the nucleus of a heavy atom like germanium or xenon, have seen nothing (see "Going underground in search of dark matter strikes "), for example.
Even if AMS comes up similarly empty, as many expect, Randall's idea could still survive. To some, a dark force, though it brings complications, seems more natural than the traditional model of dark matter. "Anything beyond that is now considered exotic," says Bullock. "But why? Normal matter interacts with itself, so 20 per cent of matter is really complicated. It's funny that the other 80 per cent is thought to be uncomplicated," he adds.
Self-interacting dark matter may also be easier to detect than its aloof counterpart, so we may soon know who is right. Bullock and colleagues already attributed the dynamics of one galactic smash-up to a dark force keeping WIMPs closer to each other than expected. They are seeking more similar examples.
Randall's dark disc, meanwhile, would affect the movements of some stars in ways that the Gaia satellite, which launches in October, could spot. And because the disc rotates at about the same speed as the Milky Way, WIMPs might collect in the sun more often than you would expect, knocking into solar protons to produce neutrinos. The IceCube detector in Antarctica could detect those extra neutrinos – although in results released two weeks ago the detector reported no such signal.
Weiner describes dark matter hunters like a drunkard looking for keys under a lamp post – that's not where the boozer dropped them, just where the light is. Curious snake-like forms have been spotted in cells from many different species across the evolutionary tree. Now Oxford scientists have shown they exist in human cells as well.

This apparent ubiquity across species from bacteria to mammals suggests the structures perform a crucial function in the cell. But how and why they form, and what role they play in the cell remain anyone’s guess.Three groups reported observations of the snakes in cells from a whole range of different species at around the same time in 2010, including Dr Ji-Long Liu’s group at the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics in Oxford.Ji-Long and colleagues named the structures ‘cytoophidia’ because of how they looked under the microscope: cytoophidium is ‘cell snake’ in Greek.
‘Cytoophidia have heads and tails and can move around. They really do look like snakes,’ explains Ji-Long Liu.
‘I reported the finding in fruit flies early in the summer of 2010,’ he says. ‘Two months later, two papers –one from Zemer Gitai’s group in Princeton and the other from James Wilhelm’s group at the University of California, San Diego – reported similar snake-like structures in bacteria, brewer’s yeast, flies and rats.’
Ji-Long’s group has now reported the first observation of these cellular structures in human cells in the Journal of Genetics and Genomics.
‘Amazingly, these snakes occur across the tree of life, from bugs to humans,’ he says. ‘Cytoophidia are found inside cells, and sometimes they stay near the surface of cells. It looks like the number of snakes in a cell is tightly controlled.’

But what are they? Having initially observed the snakes in cells from fruit flies, Ji-Long got curious and decided to follow up the chance observation. He took advantage of a collection of fruit flies at the Carnegie Institution Department of Embryology [CIDE], where he worked before moving to Oxford.In this collection, individual proteins in the fruit flies had been labelled with a fluorescent green marker, allowing Ji-Long to identify the cell snakes as containing the enzyme CTP synthase.CTP synthase is a crucial but not necessarily glamorous enzyme, one of many such enzymes involved in necessary biological processes that keep our cells ticking over. In this case, the enzyme plays a role in making the molecule CTP, a building block that helps make up DNA and RNA. The CTP molecule also crops up in fat metabolism.
‘If the generation of CTP goes wrong, it could cause a lot of damage to the cell,’ Ji-Long says.
It is possible to speculate about why an enzyme would form these long filament structures in cells. For a start, cells are a long way from just being bags of biological molecules and enzymes that float around freely, magically carrying out their many functions, reactions and chains of metabolic processes.
The cell needs an organised structure to bring this industry of biochemical reactions under control, with many processes cordoned off in separate chambers, capsules and compartments. It allows related reactions to be better controlled and regulated, with the right concentrations of the different molecules brought together in the right environment. After all, you don’t just bung all the ingredients into a chemical engineering plant, a brewery or a baking tin imagining that the recipe will be fine.
‘The beauty of a well-organised cell has not been appreciated by everyone. Without the structure, a bag of the same amounts of all the molecules would not do the same thing as a living cell,’ explains Ji-Long. ‘Compartmentation could be a general feature for many enzymes in a cell,’ he believes.
He notes that six enzymes that produce a set of biomolecular building blocks called purines are known to cluster in a specific compartment, and studies have shown that many proteins are found localised in just one part of a cell. ‘It seems to us that the filaments are necessary for the CTP synthase enzyme activity,’ he says. ‘We are trying to understand the relationship between filament-forming and the overall function of the enzyme in a cell – but we have no clear answer yet.’

His research group has found some drugs that affect the assembly of the CTP synthase enzyme into snakes, making the filaments appear in human and fruit fly cells. This approach could give a new handle to study the snakes’ function in the cell.Another interesting question is why the enzyme forms a snake-like filament or rings rather than spheres or just irregular capsules. These shapes have different surface-to-volume ratios, which might give some clues as to the difference this makes to the activity of the enzyme.‘It would be fascinating to know more about what the role of the cytoophidium plays in regulating the production of CTP,’ says Ji-Long. He notes that the CTP synthase enzyme is found in larger amounts in many types of cancer cells, and that his group has shown that some potential anti-cancer drugs can promote the formation of cytoophidia. But that’s still a long way from showing that this is important clinically or that there might be medical applications in understanding more about these cell snakes.
At the moment the existence of these snakes is an interesting observation that opens up intriguing new research questions, but what role the snakes play in our cells is unknown. Ji-Long also suggests that it’s ‘very likely’ there are other enzymes packaged up in structures in the cell that we don’t know about yet. ‘Time will tell!’ he says.

A ring of radiation previously unknown to science fleetingly surrounded Earth last year before being virtually annihilated by a powerful interplanetary shock wave, scientists say.
NASA's twin Van Allen space probes, which are studying the Earth's radiation belts, made the cosmic find. The surprising discovery — a new, albeit temporary, radiation belt around Earth — reveals how much remains unknown about outer space, even those regions closest to the planet, researchers added.
After humanity began exploring space, the first major find made there were the Van Allen radiation belts, zones of magnetically trapped, highly energetic charged particles first discovered in 1958.

Comet Pan-STARRS (C/2011 L4), widely expected to become a naked-eye object in early March, is now closer to the sun than Venus. Solar heating is vaporizing the comet's icy core and creating a wide, fan-shaped tail visible through binoculars in the southern hemisphere. Ignacio Diaz Bobillo sends this picture from Buenos Aires, Argentina: "I saw Comet Pan-STARRS just before daybreak in the constellation Grus," says Bobillo. "This is what it looked like through a small telescope, imaged with an exposure time of 8x2 minutes."
In early March, Comet Pan-STARRS will make its closest approach to the sun inside the orbit of Mercury; at that time it could brighten to easy naked-eye visibility. No one knows exactly what will happen, however, because it is a fresh comet being exposed to solar heating for the first time.

The firebrand Russian Liberal Democrat leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky claims that no meteor fell in the Urals on Friday, but rather the US was testing a new weapon.
“You’re like some primitive tribe. What meteorite?” he said, arguing that space is a “universe that has its own laws.”
Zhirinovsky, more known for clownish political outrage rather than his actual political platform, added: “When something falls – it’s man-made. People are warmongers and provocateurs.”
Earlier in the week, US Secretary of State John Kerry reportedly tried and failed to reach Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov by telephone for two consecutive days. The State Department said that Kerry wanted to discuss the recent North Korean nuclear test, as well as the conflict in Syria.
However, Zhirinovsky claimed that the top US diplomat “wanted to warn Lavrov about the plot and that it may affect Russia,” RIA Novosti reported.
Zhirinovsky, the perennial provocateur who is no stranger to controversy, set the Russian blogosphere alight following his latest off the wall accusation.
Keen to challenge Zhirinovsky’s grip on reality, sandro737 commented on Echo Moskvy: “It’s not a joke anymore, it’s a [psychiatric] diagnosis.”
User metalag soon responded: “Let me clarify your diagnosis – [Zhirinovsky] is not a fool, he’s a jester.”
He also drew in his fair share of supporters.
“Those who criticize Zhirinovsky don’t understand simple matters. Everything he says is possible. We know little about the nature of modern military weaponry, and who can guarantee that NATO is not conducting a new trial,” another user on Lenta.ru commented.
On Thursday, Moscow confirmed that on February 12 it had received Washington’s request to organize an urgent phone conversation between Kerry and Lavrov. The Foreign Ministry said, however, that State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland was “inaccurate with her statements” regarding their inability to get in touch with Lavrov for two days.
“Unfortunately, the conversation could not be held because of the intensive schedule of the Russian foreign minister and his working tour to African countries,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Alexander Lukashenko said.
“We informed the US about this at once. But no new requests were made either February 13 or another day," the diplomat added.

I thought the whole day why was there not immediately or even later today not ANY impact crater (even a litlle) or a remain of the Meteorite was shown to "the world". There for sure would be one.... Maybe "they first" need to create one with a little explosives.
Beside, there where since already long ago what they call "sonic booms" heard at some places on the planet. Maybe they are also related to those "new weapon experiences"?

A series of explosions in the skies of Russia’s Urals region, reportedly caused by a meteor shower, has sparked panic in three major cities. Witnesses said that houses shuddered, windows were blown out and cellphones stopped working. Atmospheric phenomena have been registered in the cities of Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg and Tyumen. In Chelyabinsk, witnesses said the explosion was so loud that it resembled an earthquake and thunder at the same time, and that there were huge trails of smoke across the sky. Others reported seeing burning objects fall to earth. Police in the Chelyabinsk region are reportedly on high alert, and have enacted the ‘Fortress’ plan in order to protect vital infrastructure. Office buildings in downtown Chelyabinsk are being evacuated. Injuries were reported at one of the city’s secondary schools, supposedly from smashed windows. No other injuries have been reported so far. An emergency message published on the website of the Chelyabinsk regional authority urged residents to pick up their children from school and remain at home if possible.

A meteor shower has caused explosions in the lower atmosphere above central Russia and the Urals region, blowing out windows and causing injuries.
"There was a meteor shower, without fragments falling to the ground," an emergencies ministry spokesman told the Interfax news agency on Friday (today).
"A meteorite exploded above the Chelyabinsk region (of the Urals). The shock wave blew out windows in several places."
The interior ministry said people had been injured by flying glass at a school in Chelyabinsk.
This comes just 15 hours before Asteroid DA14 is due to make it's closest flypast to Earth (at around 19:30 UT)

How alone many of us would be without not having a chance to share and express our findings from our journey. I have figured it out that over here in this site there is enormous amount of beautiful souls expressing and sharing their deepest thoughts, wisdom and love. Many of us have found out that sharing, like we share here, is just not allways possible at our normal daily life. Even our closest friends and family members can be unable to digest our thoughts, emotions and feelings. For this reason these kind of sites serve the greatest purpose – giving a place and location for sharing even the most personal, beautiful and difficult topics too.
For me this site has been extremely valuable. Most likely one of the most valuable piece of information I have come across during my journey. Life experience is very important and the greatest value, but at times, when we are alone with our thoughts, the compassion from other’s lightys who are on same journey is very important. Very very sacred is this place and very wonderful way to connect with people.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful individual insights and thank you for your support.
And thank you mighty network architects who innovated world wide network called Internet and enabling more of the freedom of speech we ever have been seen on this planet. Imagine how all could be without this great tool, we all now use almost to anything.

In an attempt to highlight the importance of whistleblowers, Julian Assange chose to have WikiLeaks' Collateral Murder footage as background for his speech at the Sam Adams Awards, an award dedicated to whistleblowers. The ceremony was organized by the Oxford Union. As a result of the video playing in the background and unsuccessful attempts to vet Julian's speech, the Union pulled the live stream from the event and spent two days substituting the US Army massacre footage with their logo. The Union claimed they feared that the US government would take legal action concerning "copyright" of the Apache gun camera footage. Wikileaks advised the Union that by law and practice the US government does not claim copyrights on footage or documents that it produces, the Union still decided to censor the video.

Ingo Swann is the father of remote viewing.
Swann developed the protocol for and conducted the first-ever remote viewing experiment, and coined the term for it in 1971 while working with researchers at the American Society of Psychical Research in New York. Tennessee Homecoming King Nominees Give Crown to Another Teen
Three Tennessee homecoming king nominees made a unanimous and touching decision that no matter who won, they would give the crown to a beloved student with a genetic condition.
Students Jesse Cooper, Drew Gibbs and Zeke Grissom were all nominated for homecoming king at Community High School's basketball homecoming ceremony.
The teens got together and decided that the winner would turn over the honor to junior Scotty Maloney, who has Williams Syndrome, a neurological disorder that inhibits learning and speech.
"I've been blessed with so many things," Cooper told ABC News' Nashville affiliate WKRN-TV. "I just wanted Scotty to experience something great in his high school days."
"He's always happy, so he deserves some recognition for who he is," Gibbs said.
Cooper won the popular vote for king, but when the official announcement was made at a Friday ceremony, the principal told the crowd what the nominees had decided to do.
"When they called [Scotty's] name, his eyes got really big and I don't know that he registered exactly what was happening. He knew something was," Maloney's teacher Liz Hestle Gassaway told ABCNews.com. "It was very, very emotional."
The crowd erupted with cheers and Maloney got a long standing ovation, WKRN reported, as he was awarded his "King" medal.
"It was just a ton of emotion from everybody," Grissom told WKRN. "I think I saw Scotty shed a few tears. I know Jesse was pretty emotional. We were all emotional out there on the court."
Maloney is a beloved teen in his school and in the community, Gassaway said.
"Scotty is fabulous. He is a superstar. He knows everybody. There's not one person that Scotty does not know," she said. "To know him and meet him is to love him."
Gassaway believes that the nearly 500-student school in Unionville, Tenn., is "one of the best schools in the world when it comes to dealing with special needs children."
Students like Cooper help out in special needs gym classes and other activities. Gassaway said the boys' gesture toward Maloney sent a greater message.
"We want people to have more empathy towards people, not be scared of people with disabilities," she said. "We want them to embrace them, more like the boys did."
Next year Maloney will get to crown the school's new homecoming king. But for now, he is proudly sporting his medal everywhere he goes.
"He's been wearing his medal around," Gassaway said with a laugh. "He is not here today because he had a doctor's appointment, but I'm sure he has his medal on."

Now here’s a rumor I have no difficulty getting behind. I have absolutely no idea whether this story is true or not. I imagine it probably isn’t.
One of the statements that suggests that it isn’t a true narrative is that it says that Swami Vivekananda took notes. Swami Vivekananda was an incarnation of one of the Seven Sages and would hardly be a notetaker at such a conference.
But even as pure fantasy, even as a spoof which traces itself to a disinfo agent, it’s a really fine vision that I think I may dwell upon as one worth spending time investing with energy. Thanks to Roth.

At 1:08 pm today an assembly of seven Maha Rishis held a conference in the oval office with President Obama and Vice President Biden. Those in attendance included Pantajali- the father of Yoga, Veda Vyasa- the great seer-poet of the Vedas, Mahavatar Babaji- the Christ-like Saint, and Lord Shiva- the Supreme Rishi Himself. Swami Vivekananda was also present taking notes for the auspicious occasion.
Topics of discussion ranged from the future of widespread healing through spiritual practices including Kundalini Awakening, to the development of unlimited energy resources, interplanetary contact, and the emergence of sustainable world peace based on cosmic law. While there were detractors who tried to delay the summit, their efforts proved to be futile.
Among the detractors were CEOs of major pharmaceutical companies who are concerned that a planetary spiritual awakening that has the potential to heal millions of individuals without the use of drugs would dramatically reduce their global profits. Likewise, CEOs of international oil corporations expressed fearful concerns over a rapid influx of relatively inexpensive and clean energy sources. Religious leaders weighed in as well as the immanent disclosure of inter-planetary contact calls into question some of their most fundamental beliefs.
However, President Obama expressed a willingness to look above and beyond those with vested interests in manipulating world populations through fear and greed. The Maha Rishis expressed the growing need for authentic non-sectarian spirituality as a means of moving beyond the modern day dilemmas of an increasingly interconnected planet. Profound spiritual truths were delivered on the harmonious flow of cosmic law that is being upheld in worlds beyond the planet Earth. The Rishis immense vision and lack of self-interest provided a welcomed change of perspective from the self-limiting views of conflict driven bureaucrats.
What will be the result of these talks is still yet to be seen. However, we can be sure that after such an auspicious visit from these spiritually minded seers, the positive energy of their Enlightened presence will be felt for the highly significant months and years to come. OM

Jan. 8, 2013: In the galactic scheme of things, the Sun is a remarkably constant star. While some stars exhibit dramatic pulsations, wildly yo-yoing in size and brightness, and sometimes even exploding, the luminosity of our own sun varies a measly 0.1% over the course of the 11-year solar cycle.
There is, however, a dawning realization among researchers that even these apparently tiny variations can have a significant effect on terrestrial climate. A new report issued by the National Research Council (NRC), "The Effects of Solar Variability on Earth's Climate," lays out some of the surprisingly complex ways that solar activity can make itself felt on our planet.
Of particular importance is the sun's extreme ultraviolet (EUV) radiation, which peaks during the years around solar maximum. Within the relatively narrow band of EUV wavelengths, the sun’s output varies not by a minuscule 0.1%, but by whopping factors of 10 or more. This can strongly affect the chemistry and thermal structure of the upper atmosphere.
Several researchers discussed how changes in the upper atmosphere can trickle down to Earth's surface. There are many "top-down" pathways for the sun's influence. For instance, Charles Jackman of the Goddard Space Flight Center described how nitrogen oxides (NOx) created by solar energetic particles and cosmic rays in the stratosphere could reduce ozone levels by a few percent. Because ozone absorbs UV radiation, less ozone means that more UV rays from the sun would reach Earth's surface.
Isaac Held of NOAA took this one step further. He described how loss of ozone in the stratosphere could alter the dynamics of the atmosphere below it. "The cooling of the polar stratosphere associated with loss of ozone increases the horizontal temperature gradient near the tropopause,” he explains. “This alters the flux of angular momentum by mid-latitude eddies. [Angular momentum is important because] the angular momentum budget of the troposphere controls the surface westerlies." In other words, solar activity felt in the upper atmosphere can, through a complicated series of influences, push surface storm tracks off course.

Colliding clusters of galaxies may hold clues to a mysterious dark force at work in the universe. This force would act only on invisible dark matter, the enigmatic stuff that makes up 86 per cent of the mass in the universe.
Dark matter famously refuses to interact with ordinary matter except via gravity, so theorists had assumed that its particles would be just as aloof with each other. But new observations suggest that dark matter interacts significantly with itself, while leaving regular matter out of the conversation.
"There could be a whole class of dark particles that don't interact with normal matter but do interact with themselves," says James Bullock of the University of California, Irvine. "Dark matter could be doing all sorts of interesting things, and we'd never know."
Some of the best evidence for dark matter's existence came from the Bullet cluster, a smash-up in which a small galaxy cluster plunged through a larger one about 100 million years ago. Separated by hundreds of light years, the individual galaxies sailed right past each other, and the two clusters parted ways. But intergalactic gas collided and pooled on the trailing ends of each cluster.
Mass maps of the Bullet cluster showed that dark matter stayed in line with the galaxies instead of pooling with the gas, proving that it can separate from ordinary matter. This also hinted that dark matter wasn't interacting with itself, and was affected by gravity alone.
Musket shot
Last year William Dawson of the University of California, Davis, and colleagues found an older set of clusters seen about 700 million years after their collision. Nicknamed the Musket Ball cluster, this smash-up told a different tale. When Dawson's team analysed the concentration of matter in the Musket Ball, they found that galaxies are separated from dark matter by about 19,000 light years.
"The galaxies outrun the dark matter. That's what creates the offset," Dawson said. "This is fitting that picture of self-interacting dark matter." If dark matter particles do interact, perhaps via a dark force, they would slow down like the gas.
This new picture could solve some outstanding mysteries in cosmology, Dawson said this week during a meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Long Beach, California. Non-interacting dark matter should sink to the cores of star clusters and dwarf galaxies, but observations show that it is more evenly distributed. If it interacts with itself, it could puff up and spread outward like a gas.
So why doesn't the Bullet cluster show the same separation between dark matter and galaxies? Dawson thinks it's a question of age – dark matter in the younger Bullet simply hasn't had time to separate.

The idea complements a previous study that saw evidence for dark forces at work in the Bullet cluster. In 2007, Glennys Farrar of New York University and colleagues said that the smaller cluster was moving too fast for gravity alone to be responsible. They suggested that some mysterious force related to dark matter might be hurrying it along.
Still, two clusters is not a lot to go on. Dawson, Bullock and colleagues are following up with about 20 more galactic collisions to see if they show any unusual behaviour. "I really think that we're almost to the point where we have enough observational data in hand," Dawson said. "We could close the book on self-interacting dark matter."
If the new force does exist, we might soon be able to see its effects on things influenced by dark matter, such as the behaviour of black holes or the masses of the first stars, says Douglas Finkbeiner of Harvard University, who was not involved in the new study.
"The simple thing isn't always the right thing, so I really appreciate that Will is trying to look into these other possibilities," he says.
Louis Strigari of Stanford University in California agrees. "Self-interacting dark matter is worth pursuing because we're still very ignorant," he said.
"We're desperate to understand what dark matter is, so any new window is welcome."

When researchers reported in 2010 an unusual linkage between solar flares and the inner life of radioactive elements on Earth, it touched off a scientific detective investigation that could end up protecting the lives of space-walking astronauts and maybe rewriting some of the assumptions of physics. Since then further research released in December 2012 by Air Force and University investigators has supported the link between solar flares and earth elements, but has yet to explain the process.

This is the master's test and fluctuations in the magnetic fields will be the
greatest test of all. Stanford research has proven fluctuations in the magnetic
fields will drive monkeys from comatose behavior to self-mutilation. Are we
monkeys or evolved enough to master ourselves? Can we maintain our calm when
everyone else around us is loosing theirs? Time to learn to breathe, release,
let go let spirit. Time to practice loving detachment. Things are going to get a
little bit crazy. I am not sure how the Earth is going to react to these
energies or how much divine intervention will be given. The Sirians warned about
the first week of January and the following weeks. We will see what unfolds.

It has come to my attention repeatedly that many officials in the agencies really do not know about the spiritually and technologically advanced off world civilizations. They do know of the regenerate low level ETs and have struck deals with them in the past but there is a great void concerning the hands off, prime directive highly evolved off worlders.
What ever deals were made in the past are now null and void. Those who have interfered in the evolution or awakening and healing of humanity and the Earth are going to be dealt with. They have been given an eviction notice; which is now being enforced by pro-earth forces. Universal Law is now the prime directive. It is the Law of One some call unity consciousness. The forces of tyranny and unbridled greed at the expense of humanity and the Earth will come to an end. It is surfacing now for all to see, the players have been indentified human and non human. The noninterference program has come to an end and the spiritually and technologically advanced races have now joined forces in a program beyond the ability of most scientists to comprehend. Quantum physics has the best grasp of what is unfolding along with some of the most ancient teachings.
The simplest way to state this is it all has to do with frequency. We are all known throughout the multiverse by our frequency. Our frequency is the combined attitudes, emotions and beliefs in the world in which we live. Our consciousness has many levels or dimensions and the higher dimensions are pressing in hard upon the Earth. It is like a soul or Godself invasion. The lower vibrational frequencies such as fear, guilt, unworthiness, ignorance, separation, pain, suffering, wrong conclusions from past experiences are undergoing a major clean up. This is why the higher dimensional beings stress clean up your consciousness, release the past and focus on love, joy, bliss, service to others in order to increase your frequency. We are being aided in this process and it is also a natural evolution; which cannot be derailed or avoided despite arrogant ego driven people who think they are separate. We are being bombarded by what seems to be every level in the electromagnetic light spectrum. Cosmic, Gama, X, Ultraviolet, Infrared are all flooding into the Earth and she is absorbing them, expanding, growing. Yes I did say growing this is why all the quakes and volcanoes are going off. There are also those misusing technology amplifying areas already under great pressure as well as playing with weather modification. Just as in the days of Atlantis there are those who want to use technology for dominion and control yet look where this took them in the past. Unfortunately the destruction of Atlantis and other worlds as well could not have come about without willing participants, those who turned a blind eye to injustices and trespasses not wanting to upset their comfort zones.
This time around there are watchers, observers and those who will interact if necessary to make sure we do not repeat the past. They will not allow an all out nuclear war or technology that could end the evolutionary process. They are hoping we learn from our mistakes, rise up and chose noble virtue or impeccable integrity concerning our actions with humanity and the Earth. Thus far we have fallen far short of many of their expectations. We are now entering a time of choosing. The action/reaction principle most call Karma is being amplified. The fear, guilt, and unworthiness are no longer efficient tools to control the masses. This includes nefarious deeds such as wars for God and Country; which in truth are for power and wealth. There is one God/Creator/Spirit given many names and images by man and we are one planet. No one has an exclusive on God, nor the right to destroy and take what is not his or hers. The lying and deceptive natures of those who lust for power and wealth, those who have sold their very soul for fame, power and wealth will become naked in the light. What will also come are the consequences to these deeds. None of these beliefs or actions are frequency specific to the evolution of Earth. There will be those who choose not to heal and continue in actions that are harmful to humanity and the Earth. Their world is imploding. They actually believe they can dig elaborate holes in the Earth, stock them, allow the Earth changes and their own depopulation programs to rid the surface of over 80% of the people then emerge as kings over who is left.
How does this look to their souls, the higher dimensional beings, the awakened ones on Earth. Does this path raise their frequencies; make them compatible to the new frequencies of Earth? Of course not. Will they maintain their bodies, their kingdoms, their tyrannical unjust enslaving system? Of course not. Those who think their security resides in serving the beast will fall along with the beast. This is the simplest explanation we can give. The only real security is to live a live of service to humanity and the Earth then you are aligned with the higher intelligences and civilizations; which in the end will be undeniably victorious.
You cannot fool your soul, Great Spirit, Creator yet in arrogance there are some very clever people who think they can. What do you think their future will hold not just in this life but lives to come? How do you think their light review will go in passing this plane when they stand naked, no lawyers, no guards, no toys or castles just their deeds and how they affected others. Now do you really think the spiritually and technologically advanced being are going to sit down and have tea with regenerate humans or ETs? Share technology knowing it will be hoarded, misused? This is why so many guberment officials are not in the know, there is no purposeful good in contacting those who have not risen to the occasion. All they can do is dismiss what they cannot experience because they have no control whatsoever in the higher dimensions. Ships and their occupants that can come and go as they please, a force on high that is watching, knowing all their dirty laundry; which is now becoming a hands on process of awakening and healing humanity and the Earth.
They work with consciousness, light and energy, are extremely telepathic and can transmit information, inspiration and healing whenever and wherever they desire. Some of them have full use of creational energies. It is the destiny of humanity and the Earth to experience a grand reunion with these beings, many already have. The Earth once hijacked by negative forces of ill intent will be reset to its original destiny which is to evolve in peace and harmony to its highest state of evolution. Now you know more than the guberment knows as well as their destiny; which many fear for good reason. There is more to the story. Stay tuned and be well.

MIT researchers discover a new kind of magnetism
Experiments demonstrate ‘quantum spin liquid,’ which could have applications in new computer memory storage.

Following up on earlier theoretical predictions, MIT researchers have now demonstrated experimentally the existence of a fundamentally new kind of magnetic behavior, adding to the two previously known states of magnetism.
Ferromagnetism — the simple magnetism of a bar magnet or compass needle — has been known for centuries. In a second type of magnetism, antiferromagnetism, the magnetic fields of the ions within a metal or alloy cancel each other out. In both cases, the materials become magnetic only when cooled below a certain critical temperature. The prediction and discovery of antiferromagnetism — the basis for the read heads in today’s computer hard disks — won Nobel Prizes in physics for Louis Neel in 1970 and for MIT professor emeritus Clifford Shull in 1994.
“We’re showing that there is a third fundamental state for magnetism,” says MIT professor of physics Young Lee. The experimental work showing the existence of this new state, called a quantum spin liquid (QSL), is reported this week in the journal Nature, with Lee as the senior author and Tianheng Han, who earned his PhD in physics at MIT earlier this year, as lead author.
The QSL is a solid crystal, but its magnetic state is described as liquid: Unlike the other two kinds of magnetism, the magnetic orientations of the individual particles within it fluctuate constantly, resembling the constant motion of molecules within a true liquid.
Finding the evidence
There is no static order to the magnetic orientations, known as magnetic moments, within the material, Lee explains. “But there is a strong interaction between them, and due to quantum effects, they don’t lock in place,” he says.
Although it is extremely difficult to measure, or prove the existence, of this exotic state, Lee says, “this is one of the strongest experimental data sets out there that [does] this. What used to just be in theorists’ models is a real physical system.”
Philip Anderson, a leading theorist, first proposed the concept in 1987, saying that this state could be relevant to high-temperature superconductors, Lee says. “Ever since then, physicists have wanted to make such a state,” he adds. “It’s only in the past few years that we’ve made progress.”
The material itself is a crystal of a mineral called herbertsmithite. Lee and his colleagues first succeeded in making a large, pure crystal of this material last year — a process that took 10 months — and have since been studying its properties in detail.
“This was a multidisciplinary collaboration, with physicists and chemists,” Lee explains. “You need both … to synthesize the material and study it with advanced physics techniques. Theorists were also crucial to this.”
Through its experiments, the team made a significant discovery, Lee says: They found a state with fractionalized excitations, which had been predicted by some theorists but was a highly controversial idea. While most matter has discrete quantum states whose changes are expressed as whole numbers, this QSL material exhibits fractional quantum states. In fact, the researchers found that these excited states, called spinons, form a continuum. This observation, they say in their Nature paper, is “a remarkable first.”
Scattering neutrons
To measure this state, the team used a technique called neutron scattering, which is Lee’s specialty. To actually carry out the measurements, they used a neutron spectrometer at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Md.
The results, Lee says, are “really strong evidence of this fractionalization” of the spin states. “That’s a fundamental theoretical prediction for spin liquids that we are seeing in a clear and detailed way for the first time.”
It may take a long time to translate this “very fundamental research” into practical applications, Lee says. The work could possibly lead to advances in data storage or communications, he says — perhaps using an exotic quantum phenomenon called long-range entanglement, in which two widely separated particles can instantaneously influence each other’s states. The findings could also bear on research into high-temperature superconductors, and could ultimately lead to new developments in that field, he says.
“We have to get a more comprehensive understanding of the big picture,” Lee says. “There is no theory that describes everything that we’re seeing.”
Subir Sachdev, a professor of physics at Harvard University who was not connected with this work, says that these findings, which have been anticipated for decades, “are very significant and open a new chapter in the study of quantum entanglement in many-body systems.” The detection of such states, he says, was an “exceptionally difficult task. Young Lee and his group brilliantly overcame these challenges in their beautiful experiment.”
In addition to Lee and Han, the work was carried out by J.S. Helton of NIST, research scientist Shaoyan Chu of MIT’s Center for Materials Science and Engineering, MIT chemistry professor Daniel Nocera, Jose Rodriguez-Rivera of NIST and the University of Maryland, and Colin Broholm of Johns Hopkins University. The work was supported by the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Science Foundation.

NASA has released a video entitled 'Why the world didn't end yesterday' - more than a week before the date of the supposed 'Mayan apocalypse' on December 21.
The video begins, "December 22, 2012. If you're watching this video, it means one thing. The world didn't end yesterday."
The video then debunks the whole idea of the so-called 'Mayan prophecies', saying that the date is based on a misconception.
NASA has not explained why the video was released in advance.
Some commenters immediately jumped on the early release as 'evidence' that the world WILL end on December 21.

I have been unable to respond to blogs for about the last week.
Everytime I hit reply, the reply page pops up and then immediately goes to an add page for Miessence certified organic cosmetics.
I was able to block popups on my older computer and reply sometimes, but not on my Ipad.
Can't reply from phone either.
I know StellaMaris is also dealing with the same glitch.
Any ideas?
Anybody else having the same problem?
Hope to fix it soon.

What is the meaning of "respect"? For most of us, we normally think about how do we get respect from others or about whether others do respect us? We seldom have the understanding that respect is a two way street. If we start to respect and appreciate others, we will automatially be respected and appreciated. This goes without saying. But for most of us, we don't believe in this, so we keep on disrespecting others and keep on stepping on the toes of others, because we think that we are the best. So when others do not seem to be paying attention to us, that we get crazy.
Take our environment as an example, we have not been respecting it, so when it reacts negatively by showing some disasters, some bad and abnormal weather, we have to suffer. Similarly, this is the same for our relationship with others. Most of the time, we always feel and think that we are the best and therefore we are always the correct one, others are always wrong. When something goes wrong, we always blame others, never looking at the situation or checking ourselves. I don't think this is a smart way to live in this world. This kind of treatment will only make our life difficult.
I was very happy this time in Ladakh during the 4th ADC. The discussions and meetings went very well, I think it was mainly because we opened to the public for their contribution as well. The cultural performances were spectacular. Everyone performed with their heart and no one was doing anything with a superficial intention to get famous or publicty. We were there to enjoy each other's company. There was no stress, no complaint. I especially want to thank His Eminence Thuksey Rinpoche and His Eminence Langna Rinpoche for their leadership and fantastic organisation. I also appreciate the hard work of Young Drukpa Assocation and the monks of Hemis. I could see the entire Hemis being transformed into a living mandala of compassion and wisdom.
As I always say, we have been talking too much, so let's get up and do something. I think ADC is one of the ways of doing something. Of course one of the main highlights was the tree planting. It was such a wonderful deed to contribute to mother nature. Instead of taking, at least this time we are giving. It has to be a give and take situation in every relationship, whether it is among humans, living beings or with nature. We are all interconnected, it is very foolish if we think that we can live independently in this world.
The support from local government of Ladakh, India and also from Bhutan is heart warming. From the depth of my heart, I thank Bhutanese government for sending a great friend, Lyonpo Minjur Dorji and many delegates to attend the ADC. The government of Ladakh and the army have given enormous support throughout the entire preparation. Without the help from everyone from different corners, it would have been impossible to have ADC at Hemis during this time of the year.

(Reuters) - New York City passed a day without a single report of a person being shot, stabbed or subject to other sorts of violent crime for the first time in recent memory, police said on Wednesday.
The rare day occurred on Monday, near the end of a year when the city's murder rate is on target to hit its lowest point since 1960, according to New York Police Department chief spokesman Paul Browne.
Browne said it was "first time in memory" the city's police force had experienced such a peaceful day.
While crime is up 3 percent overall, including a 9 percent surge in grand larceny police attribute to a rash of smart phone thefts, murder is down 23 percent over last year, the NYPD said.
As for a day without violent crime, experts said they could not recall that happening in recent memory. "In a city of 8 million people, this is extremely rare," said Tom Repetto, author of ‘American Police, 1949-2012.'
There have been 366 murders in the city so far this year, compared with 472 at this time last year, according to the NYPD.
By comparison, Chicago, Illinois, a city of about 2,707,000 people that has been plagued by gang violence in 2012, has registered 462 murders so far this year, according to the Chicago Police Department.
In Philadelphia, a city of about 1,536,000 people, there have been 301 murders so far this year, the exact same number as this time last year, the Philadelphia Police Department reports.
Repetto attributed New York's success to "pro-active" police department tactics, including its controversial stop and frisk policy.
While critics have charged that the dramatic increase in stops hasn't led to a similar rise in gun seizures, police officials have countered that proactive tactics have made criminals think twice about taking their guns out on the street.

What The Hell Is China Building Here?
Not happy with building mysterious gigantic structures in the desert, the Chinese are now building inter-dimensional portals in the middle of their cities. I mean, come on, what the hell is this 157m high metal structure in the the city of Fushun, in northeast China’s Liaoning province?
It’s made of an astounding 3000 tons of steel and it will glow at night — decorated with 12,000 LED lights. According to Fushun Municipal Government’s officials, this titanic structure does absolutely nothing except serve as an elevated sighting position. They claim it is pretty “landscape architecture” — like the Eiffel Tower. It uses four elevators to take people to the top.
The Chinese media has been harsh about the building after a blogger posted these photos on Sina Weibo, which is the country’s “largest microblog platform”. Not surprising, since this thing costs $US16 million.
According to Fushun’s Urban Construction Bureau, the “Ring of Life” means “a round sky and a path leading to a paradise in heaven.”

GMO Dangers:
In the first half of Thursday's show, writer/activist Barbara H. Peterson discussed the problematic health effects of GMO (genetically modified) foods on the general population. She first became aware of the severity of the issue in 2005, when she cured herself of a debilitating skin condition by identifying and eliminating GMO foods from her diet. Corn and soy are the main culprits, but as much as 85% of the food on grocers' shelves contains some amounts of GMOs, she reported. Further, she cited the issue of GMO contamination in organic foods sold in the US. The USDA has not set a threshold standard for this, as the European Union has done. She also spoke about the recent defeat of Prop 37 in California, an initiative that would have required GMO foods to be labeled as such. Monsanto and cohorts spent millions dishing out propaganda, and there may have been voter fraud involved in the election results, she commented.
Peterson presented details of the recently published independent Seralini peer-reviewed study testing GMO corn. The test rats fed the corn came down with massive tumors, organ failure, and premature death. These findings, she noted, have prompted the French government to call for an investigation into GMOs, and Russia to suspend imports of GMO corn. She also touched on the issue of synthetic engineering, and made suggestions on how to combat GMOs by growing your own food, or bartering with neighbors and small nearby farmers.
Home Farming:
In the latter half, expert in backyard food production, Marjory Wildcraft, discussed her efforts toward food sustainability and shared tips on how to grow your own foods. There is only a four-day food supply in grocery stores, and many foods are trucked in from a great distance, so it's imperative that people are prepared to get by on their own in the event of a crisis, she argued. Wildcraft recommended that people start small, with a 4 x 12.5 ft. gardening bed. If you're just getting started during the colder seasons, she suggested growing several herbs (like basil or chives) placed in pots in a window sill, which can make meals tastier, and impart gardening experience.
For outdoor growing, using compost is essential, as it enriches the soil, and makes produce more nutritious, she noted. As far as seeds, she said to look for open-pollinated, heirloom, or organic, and then after a harvest, the new seeds can be saved for the next planting. Wildcraft spoke about the importance of community, for trading and sharing resources, and she also advocated for the home butchering of animals, such as rabbits, as she believes a lot of meats sold in grocery stores are not healthy.

The '$5 doctor' practices medicine from bygone era
RUSHVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Patients line up early outside his office just off the town square, waiting quietly for the doctor to arrive, as he has done for nearly 60 years.
Dr. Russell Dohner is, after all, a man of routine, a steady force to be counted on in uncertain times.
Wearing the fedora that has become his trademark, he walks in just before 10 a.m., after rising early to make rounds at the local hospital. There are no appointments. He takes his patients in the order they sign in — first come, first-served. His office has no fax machines or computers. Medical records are kept on hand-written index cards, stuffed into row upon row of filing cabinets.
The only thing that has changed, really — other than the quickness of the doctor's step or the color of his thinning hair — is his fee. When Dohner started practicing medicine in Rushville in 1955, he charged the going rate around town for an office visit: $2.
Now it is $5.
This in an era when the cost of healthcare has steadily risen, when those who don't have medical insurance often forgo seeing a doctor. But not Dohner's patients. He doesn't even accept medical insurance — says it's not worth the bother.
"I always just wanted to be a doctor to help people with their medical problems and that's all it's for .," the 87-year-old family physician says. "It was never intended to make a lot of money."
Being a doctor, helping and providing a service — that has been his goal since he was a boy.
One of seven children, Dohner grew up on a farm just north of Rushville, outside the little town of Vermont, Ill. His father had hoped he'd take up farming, too. But young Dohner had other ideas, inspired by the town doctor who'd treated him when he had seizures as a child.
"I remember waking up and seeing the doctor there and thinking, 'THAT is what I want to do,'" he says.
After serving in the Army in World War II, Dohner went to Western Illinois University, paying for his education with funds provided by the G.I. bill. In the early 1950s, he attended Northwestern University's medical school. He had his sights set on becoming a cardiologist and thought about staying in the big city. But when a doctor in Rushville asked him to put off his heart specialist studies to practice medicine back at home, he agreed to do so, at least for a little while.
Then that doctor left town.
"So I couldn't very well leave," Dohner says. "That's just the way it worked out."
It was a sacrifice, yes. His young wife didn't want to stay in such a small town, he says, and so their marriage ended. He never remarried and instead dedicated his life to his work, only leaving this small central Illinois town for medical conferences over the years, never taking a true vacation.
Even when the medical profession changed around him, he was always on call, ready to drop everything for a patient.
Carolyn Ambrosius, now 69, recalls how her mother went to an obstetrician in Springfield when she was pregnant at age 41, a rarity back then. The doctor there told her that either she'd survive or the baby would, but not both of them — a prognosis her mother refused to accept.
So she went back to Rushville.
"God's going to take care of us — and Dr. Dohner," Ambrosius remembers her mother saying.
And the doctor did, coming to their home each day to check on her during the pregnancy, and often staying to eat meals with the family after he'd completed his exams.
"I'm not sure if he remembers," Ambrosius now says. (By now, the story is vaguely familiar to Dohner. He's delivered a lot of babies in Rushville — "nearly the whole town," by some estimates.)
But her mother did survive. "And my baby brother is now 52," Ambrosius says, standing outside Dohner's office on a crisp fall day after coming in for a check-up.
Stories like that are common around this town, a quaint place with cobblestone streets around the main square and majestic old mansions, some of which have seen better days. It's the sort of place where patients give their doctor a gift or bring baked goods to say thank you. The walls of Dohner's office hold items such as a homemade clock adorned with shiny beads, embroidery, cards, photos and paintings, including one of the doctor fishing, once a favorite pastime.
These days, though, it takes all his energy just to rise before 7 a.m. to head to the hospital, then to his office and back to the hospital, where the "Doctors' Dictating Lounge," named for his father, is set up with a desk and a cot for the occasional nap.
On Thursdays, Dohner closes his office at noon, but even then, he heads to the local nursing home to visit residents. On Sundays, he sees patients before church and stops by the hospital afterward.
He's there, indeed, like clockwork. But as much as townspeople have grown to count on him, they also worry, as he's become increasingly frail.
"He's going to be dearly missed, not just in town but the three- or four-county area around the town, you know, because people come from all over just to him," says Robert Utter, a 37-year-old emergency medical technician who's been a patient since he was a small boy.
The doctor's staff is aging, too. One of his nurses, Rose Busby, is 86. His secretary, Edith Moore, who grew up living next door to the Dohner farm, is 85.
"You been here before?" Moore asks many patients who step up to the office window to sign in throughout the day.
Though she may not remember everyone, she's not surprised when they answer, "Yes."
"Everybody in the world has been here before," she says, somehow managing to find each patient's index card in the filing cabinets that run down the hallway. "They're full," she says.
Moore is the one who collects the $5 fee when the patients leave — though a few times a day, Dohner tells her "never mind" and tries to quietly let a few go with no charge. Patients sometimes protest.
"Next time, I'll pay $20!" one insists. But it's clear that this patient and others are grateful, and often relieved.
Few doctors today could practice medicine the way Dohner does.
"I don't hardly make enough to pay my nurses," he concedes with a chuckle.
Most of his income comes from the farm that his family still owns and that is now run by a nephew. So, although he never became a farmer, the farming life made it possible for this country doctor to maintain his practice, his way.
And he intends to keep it going as long as he possibly can.
"As long as I can make it up here, I'll help if I can," says Dohner, who has no plan to retire. Medical colleagues keep a watchful, caring eye on him.
He notes that his mother lived into her mid-90s. "I guess I don't know anything else to do," he says.
During a visit to Culbertson Memorial Hospital, he stops to see Virginia Redshaw Wheelhouse, a 97-year-old patient. Her eyes open when she hears his voice. The doctor holds her hand and pats her shoulder.
Afterward, stammering but determined to get the words out, she says, "I pray he lives to be 99," as her daughter-in-law, Cathy Redshaw, nods.
"There's no words to describe what he does for people and the effect he has on people," says Cindy Kunkel, a registered nurse at the hospital, where Dohner spends many evenings on "second rounds," as she calls them.
She recalls working the night shift and seeing him pull into the hospital drive, often with a patient in his car.
"He may have his slippers on, but he would have his hat and his suit on," Kunkel says, smiling. "And he would bring a patient in that needed to be put to bed and taken care of."
Stephanie LeMaster, who grew up in Rushville, remembers interviewing Dohner for a school report when she was in fourth grade. Before then, she'd planned on being a nurse, like her mom and grandmother before her. But that interview changed everything, she says.
Dohner became a role model — and now she is a first-year medical student at Southern Illinois University.
"They tell me I should be the next Dr. Dohner, but I'm not sure I can live up to him," LeMaster says. "He's the only one like him."

Canadians honour slain soldiers at Remembrance Day services

Twenty-one cannon shots reverberated Sunday off the National War Memorial in Ottawa and 21 times, most of the hushed crowd of thousands collectively flinched at the sound.
Except for the veterans, whose eyes never left the looming cenotaph covered in wreaths and later poppies by those paying tribute to their service in honour of Remembrance Day.
Veterans in wheelchairs wrapped themselves in blue fleece blankets to ward off the chill, sometimes helped to their feet by family members or by the young soldiers in their midst.
“The younger veterans and the older veterans, they meet today in mutual respect and admiration as partners in the battle against evil. They are Canada’s best,” Rabbi Reuven Bulka, Honorary Chaplain of Dominion Command, told the crowd.
“They fought our fight to ensure freedom and dignity for everyone. They therefore deserve to be celebrated, applauded and eternally appreciated as authentic heroes.”
Gov. Gen. David Johnston, who was wearing the blue uniform of the Royal Canadian Airforce, led the national service that also included a military parade, prayers and song.
Among those in attendance was Roxanne Priede, this year’s National Silver Cross Mother, picked by the Royal Canadian Legion to attend the ceremony on behalf of all Canadian mothers who have lost children in the service to their country.
Ms. Priede shed tears as she lay a wreath at the base of the war memorial. Her son, Master Corporal Darrell Jason Priede, died in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan in 2007.
“May we never forget those who have gone before us, paving the way to a world of greater freedom, more lasting justice and a more profound peace,” said Brig. Gen Karl McLean, Chaplain General of the Canadian Forces, who led the ceremony in prayer.
The public encircled the monument Sunday as if to give it a giant national hug and needed little urging from Mr. Bulka to collectively shout a thank-you.
Afterwards they surged forward to place their own poppies on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, some taking a minute to thank the veterans they encountered on the way.
But while veterans felt the warmth of the crowd despite the chilly air Sunday, this year’s ceremony comes at a time of cool relations between veterans and the government.
There exists concern about the resources being put towards veterans’ care, including the amount of money made available for their funerals.
Changes to pension programs, disability benefits and the perception of a shrinking pool of resources for other care have set some veterans’ teeth on edge — even on the other side of the world.
Retired peacekeeper Leonard Kerr, formerly of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, attended a memorial service in Hong Kong being attended by Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
“I love my regiment and I love my country, but I’m not wearing anything that was given to me by the government as a decoration as a protest for the treatment of our veterans,” said Mr. Kerr.
He said he is unhappy with the fact the government replaced a pension system for injured veterans with a lump sum payment for the younger generation.
“I just think that now they’ve used us in Afghanistan, I don’t really think the government cares that much about us anymore. I really just don’t.”
Some 950 members of the Canadian Forces remain in Afghanistan where they are training that country’s national security forces.
Defence Minister Peter MacKay spent the day with some of them.
“We are very, very blessed to have our citizens, those in uniform, those in various departments who are serving our country so valiantly here,” he said in a conference all from Kabul.
“That is perhaps the greatest respect that we can pay to the previous generation of Canadians, to continue their good work.”
In Halifax, hundreds of people packed the city’s Grand Parade square under cool and cloudless skies for a Remembrance Day ceremony.
Cpl. Jeff Cameron, who serves at Canadian Forces Base Halifax, said he hoped young generations continue to honour and support Canada’s war veterans.
“I think it’s important because it’s paying respects for people who are serving and who have served and to give them support for what they’re doing,” said Cpl. Cameron just after being thanked for his service by a person walking by in the crowd.
Brydon Blacklaws, of Halifax, said he considers Remembrance Day “a great symbol of national pride.”
“I want to support our family members that have served in the military, as well as my friends and community members that are in the military now and show my respects.”
Several hundred people attended a ceremony in Edmonton, and wreaths were also laid at Ontario’s legislature.
A ceremony held by the City of Toronto was marred by around a half-dozen protesters shouting anti-war slogans during the two minutes of silence.
They were taken away by police, witnesses said.
In the heart of downtown Vancouver, thousands gathered at the cenotaph in Victory Square. Veterans, cadets, serving soldiers and other service men and women in uniform filled two city blocks.
And Trudy Lees, 84, listened to the Last Post in the place she first came to remember when she was a six-year-old girl.
She looked around with a smile, pointing out the large number of young people — not children or even teens brought by their parents but young adults with tattoos and Technicolor hair — who had joined her there on a cloudy Vancouver morning.
“It’s great that people don’t forget,” she said.
Separate ceremonies were also held in Vancouver at the Japanese Canadian War Memorial in Stanley Park, and for Chinese-Canadian veterans in Chinatown, and the Olympic
flame was lit in an early morning remembrance ceremony.
The ceremony in Hong Kong that Mr. Harper attended, took place at a cemetery where 283 Canadian soldiers are buried.
Mr. Harper and his wife placed wreaths at the base of the Sai Wan memorial which commemorates those who were killed in the battle of Hong Kong — one of the most catastrophic episodes in Canadian military history.
“The act of remembrance that we perform today here, or wherever Canadians in uniform serve their country must therefore be something beyond a solemn reminder of dear ones lost,” said Mr. Harper.

We didn't go to the parade or anything like that. I did put on the ceremony held in Ottawa. It was beautiful. I participated in the prayer and a few other things. I felt so much of the sadness, the anguish, joy, togetherness and ultimately the love that was freely flowing. I had tears running down my face. I was quite moved as I felt so much even though I was thousands of miles from where this particular ceremony took place. I felt myself part of the crowd that was at the War Memorial Park, watching, huddling close, listening and just being there.

Occupy Sandy: Onetime protesters find new cause
NEW YORK (AP) — You might be surprised at what has become a lauded and effective relief organization for victims of Superstorm Sandy: Occupy Wall Street.
The social media savvy that helped Occupy protesters create a grass-roots global movement last year — one that ultimately collapsed under its leaderless format — is proving to be a strength as members fan out across New York to deliver aid including hot meals, medicine and blankets.
They're the ones who took food and water to Glenn Nisall, a 53-year-old resident of Queens' hard-hit and isolated Rockaway section who lost power and lives alone, with no family nearby.
"I said: 'Occupy? You mean Occupy Wall Street?'" he said. "I said: 'Awesome, man. I'm one of the 99 percent, you know?'"
Occupy Wall Street was born in late 2011 in a lower Manhattan plaza called Zuccotti Park, with a handful of protesters pitching tents and vowing to stay put until world leaders offered a fair share to the "99 percent" who don't control the globe's wealth.
The world heard the cry as that camp grew and inspired other ones around the globe. Ultimately, though, little was accomplished in the ways of policy change, and Occupy became largely a punch line. But core members, and a spirit, have persisted and found a new cause in Occupy Sandy.
It started at St. Jacobi Church in Brooklyn the day after the storm, where Occupiers set up a base of operations and used social media like Twitter and Facebook to spread the word.
There is a sense of camaraderie reminiscent of Zuccotti, as young people with scruffy beards and walkie-talkies plan the day's activities. Donations come in by the truckload and are sorted in the basement, which looks like a clearinghouse for every household product imaginable, from canned soup and dog food to duvet covers.
"This is young people making history," said Mark Naison, a professor at Fordham University who has been studying Occupy Wall Street. "Young people who are refusing to let people suffer without putting themselves on the line to do something about it."
Now the group has dozens of relief centers across the city and a stream of volunteers who are shuttled out to the most desperate areas. It is partnering with local community and volunteer organizations.
A recent post on Occupy Sandy's Facebook page announced: "Attention! If anyone in Rockaway needs to have their basement pumped, please contact Suzanne Hamalak at suzybklyn(at)aol.com. Her family wants to help and have industrial pumps...they will do it for free....."
In Rockaway Park, Occupier Diego Ibanez, 24, has been sleeping on the freezing floor of a community center down the street from a row of charred buildings destroyed by a fire.
"You see a need and you fulfill it," he explained. "There's not a boss to tell you that you can't do this or you can't do that. Zuccotti was one of the best trainings in how to mobilize so quickly."
There is little public transportation in the neighborhood, where most people still don't have power and many homes were wrecked. Occupy has supplied residents with hot meals, batteries and blankets. Medics and nurses knock on doors to check on the elderly.
At one Occupy outpost in Rockaway, residents wandered in recently off the garbage-strewn streets looking for medicine.
They lined up in an ice-cold abandoned store that had been hastily transformed into a makeshift pharmacy. Gauze bandages and bottles of disinfectant were piled on tables behind a tattered curtain.
"I think we wouldn't be able to survive without them," said Kathleen Ryan, who was waiting for volunteers to retrieve her diabetes medication, stamping her feet on the plywood floor to keep warm. "This place is phenomenal. This community. They've helped a great deal."
Is this Occupy Wall Street's finest hour? In the church basement, Carrie Morris paused from folding blankets into garbage bags and smiled at the idea.
"We always had mutual aid going on," she said. "It's a big part of what we do. That's the idea, to help each other. And we want to serve as a model for the larger society that, you know, everybody should be doing this."

EDMONTON - A rare medieval manuscript on how to recognize, question, torture and burn witches is being resurrected at the University of Alberta. It's one of only four copies in the world, with the other three housed in libraries in France, Brussels, and Oxford.
History professor Andrew Gow, who came across the originally miscatalogued book and is now working on translating it from medieval French to English, describes the content as "atrocious."
"If I were to describe this book, I'd say, well, think of all of the most evil books in Harry Potter and the Malfoy's library, well those were imaginary evil. This is real evil, right here," he says.
However, due to the timing of its creation around 1460, ahead of mass state-sponsored witch hunting in Europe, Gow also considers the text to be a priceless cultural artifact that holds great insight into the history of Europe.
"It wasn't until books like this appeared and spread the idea that witchcraft is actually a form of Satan worship, a form of service to the devil, that witchcraft becomes a capital crime," he explains.
In addition to changing the way witchcraft was looked at in medieval Europe, the work may also be responsible for a common image we associate with witches: them riding on brooms.
That, along with records of witch trials and appeals can be found in the manuscript, which was donated to the U of A back in 1988 by Dr. John Lunn, Alberta's former Assistant Deputy Minister.
Gow and his grad student, Francois Pageau, hope to release the manual to the public once they finish translating it.

Star Date 24102012: We have detected evidence of a working tractor beam.
Two physicists working at New York university have developed a technique for using beams of light to draw a particle toward a source and claim to have demonstrated it experimentally.
Professor David Grier and David Ruffner, a graduate student, working at the Department of Physics and Centre for Soft Matter Research say they have realised the Star Trek-style technology - only on a miniscule scale.
Whenever a friendly star ship was in distress, it was no problem for the crew of the Enterprise to activate their tractor beam and drag the vessel to safety.
However, until now the technology has remained beyond the reach of real-world physicists, with the best they could manage being laser-based tweezers that can drag particles across microscopic distances in two dimensions.

Now in a paper published in the journal Physical Review Letters - and available in full here - Professor Grier and Mr Ruffner describe a technology that goes one better, by actually pulling particles towards their beam's source.
It is well known that light can push objects - a property that forms the basis for the idea of using solar sails - but getting light to drag something has so far proved to be more difficult.
The NYU tractor beam is based on Chinese research published last year into a kind of laser called a Bessel beam, which emits light in concentric rings.
That study calculated that a such a beam could be designed to make a particle inside it emit photons on the side facing away from the beam's source, forcing the particle to recoil towards that source.
No-one has as yet been able to make such a beam, but the NYU researchers got around the problem by instead projecting two Bessel beams side by side down a microscope and using a lens to angle them so they overlap.
By varying the relative phase of the two beams, this technique traps the particle in a moving hologram they call an 'optical conveyor' which allows 'bi-directional transport in three dimensions'.
New Scientist explains how projecting the beams in this way creates a pattern of alternating bright and dark regions. By fine tuning the beam photons in the bright regions which flow past the chosen particle can be made to scatter backwards, hitting the particle and knocking it on towards the next bright region.
However, the beam is not quite ready to snare a starship. Professor Grier and Mr Ruffner demonstrated their technology by moving microscopic spheres of silica suspended in water over distances of 30 micrometres.
'This is still very much in its infancy,' Mr Ruffner told New Scientist. Nevertheless it opens the door to transforming science fiction into science fact - and Nasa has already been in touch.

New Northwestern analysis focuses on “pre-feelings” and ability to anticipate the near future

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Wouldn’t it be amazing if our bodies prepared us for future events that could be very important to us, even if there’s no clue about what those events will be?
Presentiment without any external clues may, in fact, exist, according to new Northwestern University research that analyzes the results of 26 studies published between 1978 and 2010.
Researchers already know that our subconscious minds sometimes know more than our conscious minds. Physiological measures of subconscious arousal, for instance, tend to show up before conscious awareness that a deck of cards is stacked against us.
“What hasn’t been clear is whether humans have the ability to predict future important events even without any clues as to what might happen,” said Julia Mossbridge, lead author of the study and research associate in the Visual Perception, Cognition and Neuroscience Laboratory at Northwestern.
A person playing a video game at work while wearing headphones, for example, can’t hear when his or her boss is coming around the corner.
“But our analysis suggests that if you were tuned into your body, you might be able to detect these anticipatory changes between two and 10 seconds beforehand and close your video game,” Mossbridge said. “You might even have a chance to open that spreadsheet you were supposed to be working on. And if you were lucky, you could do all this before your boss entered the room.”
This phenomenon is sometimes called “presentiment,” as in “sensing the future,” but Mossbridge said she and other researchers are not sure whether people are really sensing the future.
“I like to call the phenomenon ‘anomalous anticipatory activity,’” she said. “The phenomenon is anomalous, some scientists argue, because we can’t explain it using present-day understanding about how biology works; though explanations related to recent quantum biological findings could potentially make sense. It’s anticipatory because it seems to predict future physiological changes in response to an important event without any known clues, and it’s an activity because it consists of changes in the cardiopulmonary, skin and nervous systems.”
The study, “Predictive Physiological Anticipation Preceding Seemingly Unpredictable Stimuli: A Meta-Analysis,” is in the current edition of Frontiers in Perception Science. In addition to Mossbridge, co-authors of the study include Patrizio Tressoldi of the Università di Padova, Padova, Italy, and Jessica Utts of the University of California, Irvine.

I asked the question 2 years ago "Why does the US and UK have ships in the Gulf of Aden". Some say there is a star gate there.
I suggested they were preparing for the next conflict that the controllers were going to create in attempt to get this Armageddon going.
Looks like that is exactly what they are doing. It amazes me how they can get away with this and no one calls them on it.

BIG SUN-DIVING COMET DISCOVERED: Astronomy forums are buzzing with speculation about newly-discovered Comet C/2012 S1 (ISON). Currently located beyond the orbit of Jupiter, Comet ISON is heading for a very close encounter with the sun next year. In Nov. 2013, it will pass less than 0.012 AU (1.8 million km) from the solar surface. The fierce heating it experiences then could turn the comet into a bright naked-eye object. (continued below)

Much about this comet--and its ultimate fate--remains unknown. "At this stage we're just throwing darts at the board," says Karl Battams of the NASA-supported Sungrazer Comet Project, who lays out two possibilities:
"In the best case, the comet is big, bright, and skirts the sun next November. It would be extremely bright -- negative magnitudes maybe -- and naked-eye visible for observers in the Northern Hemisphere for at least a couple of months."
"Alternately, comets can and often do fizzle out! Comet Elenin springs to mind as a recent example, but there are more famous examples of comets that got the astronomy community seriously worked up, only to fizzle. This is quite possibly a 'new' comet coming in from the Oort cloud, meaning this could be its first-ever encounter with the Sun. If so, with all those icy volatiles intact and never having been truly stressed (thermally and gravitationally), the comet could well disrupt and dissipate weeks or months before reaching the sun."
"Either of the above scenarios is possible, as is anything in between," Battams says. "There's no doubt that Comet ISON will be closely watched. Because the comet is so far away, however, our knowledge probably won't develop much for at least a few more months."
Meanwhile, noted comet researcher John Bortle has pointed out a curious similarity between the orbit of Comet ISON and that of the Great Comet of 1680. "Purely as speculation," he says, "perhaps the two bodies could have been one a few revolutions ago."

Launched on August 30, 2012, NASA’s twin Radiation Belt Storm Probe (RBSP) satellites have captured recordings of audible-range radio waves emitted by Earth’s magnetosphere. The stream of chirps and whistles heard in the video above consist of 5 separate occurrences captured on September 5 by RBSP’s Electric and Magnetic Field Instrument Suite and Integrated Science (EMFISIS) instrument.
The events are presented as a single continuous recording, assembled by the (EMFISIS) team at the University of Iowa and NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.
Called a “chorus”, this phenomenon has been known for quite some time.
“People have known about chorus for decades,” says EMFISIS principal investigator Craig Kletzing of the University of Iowa. “Radio receivers are used to pick it up, and it sounds a lot like birds chirping. It was often more easily picked up in the mornings, which along with the chirping sound is why it’s sometimes referred to as ‘dawn chorus.’”
The radio waves, which are at frequencies that are audible to the human ear, are emitted by energetic particles within Earth’s magnetosphere, which in turn affects (and is affected by) the radiation belts.
The RBSP mission placed a pair of identical satellites into eccentric orbits that will take them from as low as 375 miles (603 km) to as far out as 20,000 miles (32,186 km). During their orbits the satellites will pass through both the stable inner and more variable outer Van Allen belts, one trailing the other. Along the way they’ll investigate the many particles that make up the belts and identify what sort of activity occurs in isolated locations — as well as across larger areas.

The “Butterfly People” of Joplin Missouri

I heard a story from a friend of mine who volunteered to help rebuild houses in Joplin, Missouri, about the “Butterfly People” who were seen by children during the storm. These children said that these people saved their lives.
I was interested in what my friend said, so I went online and Googled “Butterfly People”. Take a look at some of these stories… and have kleenex handy!
The stories about butterfly people coursed through Joplin, passing one by one and then by the many, tales describing what children reported seeing on that Sunday night in May as the tornado bore down. The children said the butterfly people protected them. These stories, tales of guardian angels, could be dismissed as a child’s fanciful imagination. But the stories have taken hold here. And as the months have slipped by, the adrenaline fading along with some of the terror, the stories have assumed a new, maybe even more important role. To understand why, you have to understand what this town of 50,000 went through — and what it still faces. The tornado killed 161 people. It shredded entire neighborhoods. More than 900 homes were lost. Big box stores collapsed. The destruction was complete, the landscape rendered foreign. The tornado unleashed stories about death and unlikely survival: A teenager sucked from an SUV, a toddler plucked from his mother’s arms, houses that exploded in 200-mph winds as families huddled in bathtubs and closets. My favorite story is of a 2 ½-year-old little girl who with her father was caught in the tornado in their vehicle. Afterward, when she was encouraged to tell of her experience (the point being to keep children from internalizing the moment and becoming fearful and developing long-term anxiety), she told this amazing story: She said she and her dad and the “butterfly people” were in the car and…At this point she was interrupted and told that only she and her daddy were in the car. But she insisted: “No, Daddy” There were
butterfly people in the car with us!” Is that not awesome?! This small child would not have known what an angel was or how to describe one, but she knew about butterflies! It was adequate to describe a miracle!
A young boy and his father were also in their vehicle and were being tossed wildly in the wind when suddenly the father looked up to see another car flying toward them. The little boy was the one who saw two very BIG angels holding the other car back. Their car was never hit by the flying car. The boy continued to say it was the BIG angels that held the other car back. Only the child saw the angels, but the father witnessed the miracle!
Another incredible story is told by a deputy sheriff who, immediately following the storm spotted a little 4-year-old boy in an open field east of Joplin. The deputy ran to get him and found there was not a scratch on him! He asked, and the little boy told him his name and where he lived-which was in west Joplin, out by the St John’s hospital that took a big hit. The deputy asked how he got there to the field. The boy replied: “The angels brought me and set me down here.” The distance was more than six miles from where he was picked up!
There is another story of a mom and her young daughter who were in their vehicle when they saw the tornado coming toward them. They got out of the car and jumped in a ditch, the mom covering her little girl. When the tornado passed, they got up from the ditch and the mom asked her daughter “are you okay?” to which the little girl replied “oh yes, weren’t they beautiful?!” The mom asked her what she was talking about and the girl replied “didn’t you see how beautiful their wings were!” The angels were surrounding them in the middle of the tornado and the child saw the beautifully colored angel wings! Mom did not see them but knew that somehow, they had been protected.
Pastor Wermuth also told of a church across from the Joplin High School where people had gathered early for the evening service. They were told to get to the basement quickly. (There was one casualty in that location.) All four walls of the church fell to the basement, trapping the people underneath the rubble. Six large men arrived and lifted the four walls up, allowing the survivors to climb out. When rescue squads arrived and inquired how they got out, everyone had the same report: Six big men lifted the walls up and allowed them to climb out. And when everyone was out, they walked away, saying they had to go dig others out. All were very descriptive and emphatic about the six large men-all telling the same story the same way to the rescuers. The rescuers in disbelief explained, there is no way 6 men can lift all 4 of these walls. Can you say “ANGELS”!

A woman who helped a lost man ended up with a surprise $20,000 gift.
That's what happened last month when Jennifer Vasilakos guided Ty Warner when he stopped and asked for driving directions in Santa Barbara, Calif.
While Warner didn't know exactly how to get to where he was going, Vasilakos didn't realize who she was helping.
Warner is the billionaire founder of Ty Inc., the Beanie Baby company.
Vasilakos was at the intersection trying to raise $20,000 for a stem cell procedure she needs to help save her life because she suffers from kidney failure and does not qualify for a transplant.
She describes their encounter in her blog:
I often get asked by random strangers for directions. Not one to miss an opportunity, I handed him my flyer and he made a fifty dollar donation. As he drove off, I thought that was the end of our encounter... He'd returned after an hour or so. Rolling down his window, he reached out his hand and introduced himself. I immediately recognized his name. He was kind and sincere as he looked directly into my eyes... I listened as he repeated over and over that he was going to help me. That my fundraising was done. That I didn't need to worry any longer. He said he would send a check after he returned to his offices during the week.
He was true to his word. Vasilakos, an herbalist and Reiki teacher, received a package on July 16 with a $20,000 check and with a handwritten note from Warner. The note read in part, "Someone up there loves you because I was guided to meet you Saturday. I never lose my way, but fate had me lost and ask you for directions. The rest of the story I hope will be a wonderful new life for you."

"Of course I started crying, because that's what girls do," Vasilakos said. "I'm incredibly thankful to Ty Warner and to everyone who has supported me with love and prayer."
The check cleared a few weeks later and she booked a surgical procedure at an undisclosed foreign hospital to begin hematopoietic stem cell treatment. Hematopietic treatment takes a cell from the blood or bone marrow that can renew itself and develop into a variety of specialized cells.
"After I serendipitously met Jennifer, I further educated myself on her stem cell needs. I was shocked that this particular type of treatment wasn't available to her in the U.S.," Warner said in a media release. "My hope is that we can bring this lifesaving treatment to the forefront so that it can become more readily available and provide alternatives for people like Jennifer."
So the chance meeting allowed both Warner and Vasilakos to each continue on their journeys.

As we get closer and closer to a range of wonderfully important and soul-changing moments – and with Disclosure already underway and the changeover to the new financial system just waiting to be announced – the effects, efforts and the strategic use of disinfo has suddenly risen to what can only be called ‘high alert’.
Take Disclosure, for example… the constant repeats of scaremongering anti-alien movies, such as the original and multiple sequels to the Alien films, War of the Worlds, Independence Day, Battle Los Angeles and many others are now suddenly on mass rotation across every television platform available all around the world.
Whether the network programmers themselves realise they are part of a coordinated effort to dominate the airwaves with such anti-Galactics campaigning, I could not say.
But you can bet someone, somewhere made the call that these movies should be re-screening and re-screening at this designated moment in the world’s history. Even if it came via a subtle reminder that ‘your station’s final repeat rights to the following films end soon so you will need to screen the movie within the next month if you wish to use your remaining repeat rights’…
In Australia, we even have an ad for a car insurance company featuring a cartoon spaceship that flies above the traffic and ‘shoots” down a devastating beam that destroys the cars – meaning the car owners need to call that particular insurance company to have their vehicle repaired. Ah, they’re so subtle, aren’t they?
These two ploys are both incredibly effective uses of mainstream media to keep the level of possible fear of any Galactic appearance at a possible high.
And while I personally feel most people do believe in the presence of our star brothers and sisters and would likely welcome them with open arms if they knew what wonders they will bring, the six or so people who control the entire world’s mainstream heavyweight media companies think that these sorts of messages will keep people in an “un-friendly” state.
And so they have ramped up the nasty, invading alien presence as best they know how.
So just be aware that this sort of major, worldwide strategic ploy for our hearts and minds is now underway.
Meanwhile, concerted anti-Lightworker and anti-truth disinfo campaigns are also being mounted.
American Kabuki told me that he is well aware that there are complex coordinated teams of people, all around the world, who are offered $50 or $100 for every ‘stirring’ or disinfo post they get ‘up’ onto a Lightworker or alternate news blog site. I am also aware of this.
American Kabuki, with his insider knowledge of technology, internet bots and the like, explained to me that these ‘disinfo teams’ have specially-scripted responses for different Lightworker and current topics that, with a bit of tweaking to include the current issue or part of a current channelled message, tap into part of the truth and twist it around. These ‘communications’ are then emailed in via Contact Us forms or via direct posting on various sites and unsupervised forums to ‘set the cat among the pigeons’ so to speak. And stir things up. Total confusion of messaging is an old “disarming’ tactic.
Now, today, longtime Lightworker, professional lecturer, filmmaker and author David Wilcock has had to publicly defend himself following a concerted fake email campaign.
The email, passing as a “Divine Cosmos member-only exclusive” – claiming to have been written by David and stating that he met with the Galactics at the London 2012 Olympic Games – perfectly copied David’s particular writing style and unique formatting and presentation in what was no ordinary attempt to discredit David and his work. (Although, one wag did suggest, that is was so close to David’s usual penmanship that maybe, just maybe, it was David drumming up interest for his next post, due out soon…I doubt it.)
So, I wrote to David earlier today to ask him what had happened and ask if he did write this particular email. Apparently, I was about the seventh or eight person who had asked him this. Naturally, he was shocked and frustrated that someone would send out such disinfo. He has since posted to his blog that he did not write this email. This was his response to mine:
“This is absolutely false.
It appears to have been written by counter-intelligence agents who are trying to discredit the work I am doing with the Financial Tyranny investigation.
There are no member-exclusive writings on Divine Cosmos. Everything I write is open, free and public, and I never post anywhere but on Divine Cosmos.

There are also a number of articles, channels and postings that are from some time back, that have also suddenly re-surfaced as ‘recent” news. Many Lightworker sites have either not checked or not remembered that these posts have done the rounds before and have, possibly innocently, started re-circulating these articles, stories and messages as if they were ‘new’ news. And thus confusion has come in to play again.
So what do we do in this time of seeking truth.
My advice is that we all simply need to be very aware that there is a major industry out there that manufactures disinfo and it is avidly marketing its product in an attempt to seek our hearts and our minds right now.
The best thing way to stay out of this energy is to stay IN our individual truth and use our discernment at all time.
And read only those emails, blog sites and forums you trust and know are being managed with the Light in mind.
In other words, do as we always all should do -and stay out of the drama at the same time.
And remember: truth has no agenda.

I am one who loved to come here for thetext chatting, but I noticed the only thing available was a Ventrillo chat voice chat room. Now, if anyone is familiar with voice chat, the biggest issue with that is people tend to want to talk over others. And that can get annoying very fast.
I am planning to start a Yahoo! chat room specifically designed for text chat, however, Voice Chat can be available for those who would rather talk instead of typing. It brings me back to the days of 2000, when it was not only popular, but fun. I'll look into getting that set up sometime this weekend. If anyone is interested in this idea instead of a talk ONLY chat room, feel free to message me.

According to news reports, this sudden violent rampage was completely out of character for James Holmes, who was described as "shy."
The New York Times is now reporting:
Billy Kromka, a pre-med student at the University of Colorado, Boulder, worked with Mr. Holmes for three months last summer as a research assistant in a lab of at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Mr. Kromka said he was surprised to learn Mr. Holmes was the shooting suspect. "It was just shocking, because there was no way I thought he could have the capacity to do commit an atrocity like this," he said. There is already conjecture that James Holmes may have been involved in mind-altering neuroscience research and ended up becoming involved at a depth he never anticipated. His actions clearly show a strange detachment from reality, indicating he was not in his right mind. That can only typically be accomplished through drugs, hypnosis or trauma (and sometimes all three).
His behavior doesn't add up
His behavior already reveals stark inconsistencies that question the mainstream explanation of events. For example, he opened fire on innocent people but then calmly surrendered to police without resistance. This is not consistent with the idea of "killing everyone."
Furthermore, he then admitted to police that his apartment was booby-trapped with explosives. If you were really an evil-minded Joker trying to kill people (including cops), why would you warn them about the booby trap in advance? It doesn't add up.
"Holmes was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, police said, adding he didn't resist when he was arrested," reports a local CBS news affiliate (http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/07/20/police-14-dead-in-colorado-the...).
"After his arrest, Holmes told police about 'possible explosives in his residence,' Oates said. When police searched his apartment, they discovered it was booby-trapped and evacuated surrounding buildings, police said. Oates said bomb technicians are determining how to disarm flammable or explosive material in the third-floor apartment. He said police could be there some time."
None of this checks out. If you're a killer bent on causing mayhem, why tell the police about your surprise bomb waiting for them back at your apartment?
Holmes was clearly provided with exotic gear
Continuing from CBS:
"He said pictures from inside the apartment are fairly disturbing and the devices look to be sophisticated, adding the booby-traps were 'something I've never seen.' One rifle, two handguns, a knife, a bullet proof vest, a ballistic helmet, a gas device, a gas mask, military SWAT clothing and unidentified explosives were also found in Holmes' car, a law enforcement source told CBS News. Oates said Holmes wore a gas mask, a ballistic helmet and vest as well as leg, groin and throat protectors during the shooting."
In other words, this guy was equipped with exotic gear by someone with connections to military equipment. SWAT clothing, explosives, complex booby-traps... c'mon, this isn't a "lone gunman." This is somebody who was selected for a mission, given equipment to carry it out, then somehow brainwashed into getting it done.

This is not your run-of-the-mill crime of passion. It was a carefully planned, heavily funded and technically advanced attack. Who might be behind all this? Mystery man Holmes has no background

Mr. Holmes's only criminal history is a traffic summons, the authorities said. He earned a bachelor's degree with honors in neuroscience in 2010 from the University of California, Riverside, and was a graduate student in neurosciences at the University of Colorado at Denver's Anschutz Medical Campus... He was currently collecting unemployment...
Question: How does an unemployed medical student afford $20,000 in weapons gear?
If you start to look at the really big picture here, the obvious question arises: How does an unemployed medical student afford all the complex weapons gear, bomb-making gear, "flammable" booby trap devices, ammunition, multiple magazines, bullet-proof vest, groin protection, ballistic helmet, SWAT uniform and all the rest of it?
A decent AR-15 rifle costs $1,000 or more all by itself. The shotgun and handgun might run another $800 total. Spare mags, sights, slings, and so on will run you at least another $1,000 across three firearms. The bullet-proof vest is easily another $800, and the cost of the bomb-making gear is anybody's guess. With all the specialty body gear, ammunition, booby-trap devices and more, I'm guessing this is at least $20,000 in weapons and tactical gear, much of which is very difficult for civilians to get in the first place.
The mere manufacture of an explosive booby-trap device is, all by itself, a felony crime by the way. And remember: "Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates said Holmes' apartment is booby-trapped with a 'sophisticated' maze of flammable devices. Question: Where does an unemployed, introverted medical school student get the training to deploy sophisticated booby traps, tactical body armor, weapons systems and more? Certainly not in graduate school!
All this leads to an obvious third party influence over all this. Someone else taught this guy these skills and funded the acquisition of the equipment.
Staged just in time for a vote on the UN small arms treaty?
More and more, this shooting is looking like a deliberate plot staged by the government itself much like Operation Fast and Furious pulled off by the ATF (http://www.naturalnews.com/032934_ATF_illegal_firearms.html) which helped smuggle tens of thousands of guns into Mexico for the purpose of causing "gun violence" in the USA, then blaming the Second Amendment for it.
All this looks like James Holmes completed a "mission" and then calmly ended that mission by surrendering to police and admitting everything. The mission, as we are now learning, was to cause as much terror and mayhem as possible, then to have that multiplied by the national media at exactly the right time leading up the UN vote next week on a global small arms treaty that could result in gun confiscation across America. Even Forbes.com wrote about this quite extensively, warning readers about the coming gun confiscation effort related to the UN treaty. The story was authored by Larry Bell (http://www.forbes.com/sites/larrybell/2011/06/07/u-n-agreement-should...) and says the UN treaty could "override our national sovereignty, and in the process, provide license for the federal government to assert preemptive powers over state regulatory powers guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment in addition to our Second Amendment rights."
In other words, this has all the signs of Fast & Furious, Episode II. I wouldn't be surprised to discover someone in Washington was behind it all. After all, there's no quicker way to disarm a nation and take total control over the population than to stage violence, blame it on firearms, then call for leaders to "do something!" Such calls inevitably end up resulting in gun confiscation, and it's never too long after that before government genocide really kicks in like we saw with Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao and other tyrants.

A "monopoly of force" in government is far more dangerous than a crazed lone shooter
So yes, James Holmes and other crazed shooters kill a number of people each year in random acts of violence. It's horrifying and wrong, but it's nothing compared to the millions of lives that governments tend to destroy when they gain total power over the populace.

Few nighttime sights offer more drama than the Full Moon rising over the horizon. Now imagine that instead of the Moon, a gas giant planet spanning three times more sky loomed over the molten landscape of a lava world. This alien vista exists in the newly discovered two-planet system of Kepler-36.
In this artist's conception, a "hot Neptune" known as Kepler-36c looms in the sky of its neighbor, the rocky world Kepler-36b. The two planets have repeated close encounters, experiencing a conjunction every 97 days on average. At that time, they are separated by less than 5 Earth-Moon distances. "These two worlds are having close encounters," said Josh Carter from the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA) in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
"They are the closest to each other of any planetary system we've found," said Eric Agol of the University of Washington in Seattle.
Scientists spotted the planets in data from NASA's Kepler spacecraft, which can detect a planet when it passes in front of, and briefly reduces the light coming from, its parent star.
The newfound system contains two planets circling a subgiant star much like the Sun, except several billion years older. The inner world, Kepler-36b, is a rocky planet 1.5 times the size of Earth that weighs 4.5 times as much. It orbits about every 14 days at an average distance of less than 11 million miles (18 million kilometers).
The outer world, Kepler-36c, is a gaseous planet 3.7 times the size of Earth that weighs eight times as much. This "hot Neptune" orbits once each 16 days at a distance of 12 million miles (19 million km).
The two planets experience a conjunction every 97 days, on average. At that time, they are separated by less than five Earth-Moon distances. Since Kepler-36c is much larger than the Moon, it presents a spectacular view in its neighbor's sky. (Coincidentally, the smaller Kepler-36b would appear about the size of the Moon when viewed from Kepler-36c.) Such close approaches stir up tremendous gravitational tides that squeeze and stretch both planets.
Researchers are struggling to understand how these two different worlds ended up in such close orbits. Within our solar system, rocky planets reside close to the Sun while the gas giants remain distant.
Although Kepler-36 is the first planetary system found to experience such close encounters, it undoubtedly won't be the last. "We're wondering how many more like this are out there," said Agol.
"We found this one on a first quick look," said Carter. "We're now combing through the Kepler data to try to locate more."
This result was made possible with asteroseismology — the study of stars by observing their natural oscillations. Sun-like stars resonate like musical instruments due to sound waves trapped in their interiors. And just like a musical instrument, the larger the star, the "deeper" are its resonances. This trapped sound makes the stars gently breathe in and out, or oscillate.
"Kepler-36 shows beautiful oscillations,” said Bill Chaplin from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. “By measuring the oscillations, we were able to measure the size, mass, and age of the star to exquisite precision. Without asteroseismology, it would not have been possible to place such tight constraints on the properties of the planets.”

The controversial row surroundings alleged links between the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine and autism is set to be reignited following a court ruling in Italy.
Judges in Rimini, north-east Italy awarded the Bocca family Euros 174,000 (£140,000) after the Italian Health Ministry conceded the MMR vaccine caused autism in their nine-year-old son Valentino. Up to 100 similar cases are now being examined by Italian lawyers and experts suggest the case could lead to other families pursuing cases.
Doctors and health experts in Britain insist the link is merely coincidental saying children who develop autism, do so around the same time the MMR jab is administered. The Department of Health says 'there is a wealth of evidence showing children who receive the MMR vaccine are no more at risk of autism than those who don't.'
But the ruling in Italy is likely to re-open a debate which first made the headlines in Britain over a decade ago when the respected medical journal The Lancet published an article in 1998, making a connection between the triple vaccine and autism. Though the author's methods were later discredited, it was enough for many families to refuse their children the jab.
Valentino Bocca was 15 months old when he received an MMR jab in 2004. His parents said the change in him, after the jab, from a healthy boy to one who was in serious discomfort, was immediate.
Luca Ventaloro the family lawyer, said yesterday: “This is very significant for Britain which uses, and has used, an MMR vaccine with the same components as the one given to Valentino. It is wrong for governments and their health authorities to exert strong pressure on parents to take children for the MMR jab while ignoring that this vaccine can cause autism and linked conditions.”
The number of autism cases has risen sharply since the 1970s, with one in 64 British children affected.
It is not yet clear what the new evidence presented to the Italian courts was, but similar cases around the world could be brought.
In the UK, the Vaccine Damage Payments Unit has only paid small sums to 34 cases over the last decade and the child has to be 60 per cent disabled.

What would a gamma-ray burst sound like? No one really knows, but members of the team that work with the Fermi Large Area Telescope (LAT) have translated gamma-ray measurements into musical notes and have created a “song” from the photons from one of the most energetic of these powerful explosions, GRB 080916C which occurred in September of 2008.
“In translating the gamma-ray measurements into musical notes we assigned the photons to be “played” by different instruments (harp, cello, or piano) based on the probabilities that they came from the burst,” the team wrote in the Fermi blog. “By converting gamma rays into musical notes, we have a new way of representing the data and listening to the universe.”
In the beginning of the song, before the burst starts, the harp plucks out a few lonely notes. After about half a minute, the piano joins in on top of the harp background, and the notes begin to pile on more and more rapidly. The cello enters the scene as the burst begins in earnest, creating a full, energetic sound.

Hidden near the end of a coiling side road in Buckhorn, Ont., sits the Larson residence: an open-concept home with high ceilings and tall windows. It’s dinnertime and Shayla Larson and Adam Noble are bickering about what kind of animal heart they dissected in their Grade 11 biology class. Shayla thinks it was a pig. Adam says rat. “We’ve been referred to as ‘the old married couple,’” says Shayla.
Like most kids their age, Adam, 18, and Shayla, 17, have lots of friends, enjoy playing sports and love to party. And yet, you can’t quite call them typical. The teens are obsessed with nanosilver: microscopic, germ-fighting bits of silver found in everything from riding helmets to toothpaste to baby pacifiers. Silver’s potent antibacterial powers were well known even to the ancient Greeks, who used the metal for plates and jugs to combat spoilage. For the last 60 years, silver has been broken down into tiny concentrations for a range of commercial applications, such as swimming pool cleaners, but the advent of nanotechnology has accelerated its introduction into hundreds of new products. The medical community, for example, is excited by the prospect of nano-silverized bone pins, catheters and artificial body parts—three of the many medical devices that can act as carriers for infection.
Adam and Shayla, however, have learned the miracle component isn’t all it’s hyped to be. After months of research, they proved the chemical is also kryptonite for euglena, a lake-based algae deemed an “indicator species,” or an ecological early-warning system that signals environmental pollution. The discovery that euglena are harmed by nanosilver is a vindication for nanotech critics worried about the lack of research on the full array of nanoparticles now entering the environment. Should Adam and Shayla’s research eventually prove nanosilver is toxic to human cells, the finding could cripple the nanosilver trade, currently a multi-billion-dollar industry.
In May 2011, the teens earned one of four $4,000 Young Canadian Innovation Awards; the annual competition takes place at the Canada-Wide Science Fair, held that year in Markham, Ontario, just outside of Toronto. (The awards are an initiative of the The Ernest C. Manning Awards Foundation, based in Calgary.) Adam and Shayla’s project, titled “The Hazards of Nanosilver Uncovered,” beat out hundreds of other entries, among them a new search-engine algorithm and a cancer-fighting drug, and was given the science fair’s gold prize. Three months later, the nanosilver project garnered the pair an expense-paid trip to the Stockholm Junior Water Prize—the highest international award for youth in water studies—where, against finalists from almost thirty countries, they placed in the top five. Their fame followed them back home to Buckhorn, where they made local headlines—something their friends still tease them about. “When I go to a party, my friends introduce me as the super genius,” Adam says. “It’s kind of cool.”

Noah's Ark has made a return, and its creator, Dutchman Johan Huibers, hopes to present it at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England, replete with mechanical as well as live animals, to teach children about the biblical story of the great flood and Noah and his family's efforts to preserve two of every kind of animal on the planet. The 3 ,000 ton, 450 foot long and 75 foot high ark is an exact replica in size and design of the biblical ark, and is the result of a quest began after Huibers awoke from a dream about another great flood that rose above Holland's dyke system.

Sick! Child Porn Legal?!?!
Ok. Could someone fix this title and fix our laws! The person may or may not have been viewing child pornography, yet either way No One Should Decide Its LEGAL! Let alone write it. There is nothing Legal about seeing children naked and/or having intercourse on the internet or any where else whether it be forced or voluntary. If you are an “adult”, over the age of 18 in most parts of the world, then that is your business. All I hear is respect, dignity and integrity. The title only gives sick people the excuse to continue being sick if not even more sick.
Mind you, those of you who look at child pornography you are only creating it to come back to you. And God help you too if you have children one day or at present. For it may be your children who are on the internet. And Im sure the shoe wont feel as comfortable being worn on the other foot.
Also, for those of you who make these images available for others to view. Shame! And for those of you who voluntarily commit these act and are under the age of 18, Please think twice!
Moms, Dads, Caretakers, Guardians, Families of these young beings, these youths, our future, please take care of them and teach them self respect and how to care about and love themselves. It makes no sense for our children to be displayed in public view in this manner.
Some things should be strictly for adults and not for children to have access to. This is what we should protect. And also support sites that empower children and not degrade them. Maybe if people reported these sites instead of view them we could be saving hundreds of children who are bullied, vulnerable, abused, kidnapped(child trafficking), helpless and victims to societies sickness.
Yes! Society is sick not to say anything and view it. If an elderly person fell would you help them? If you saw your neighbors child naked on the internet would you ignore it? We do not all have to follow the ways of a sick society. Why not be the change and create a healthy one instead.

The article states that the big picture is thrilling, that globally, the deaths of children are falling, funding for primary health care in the poorest countries had been rising (but is now kind of stagnating, yet it is still high compared with years ago), and with advances in medicine and ways of distributing it so many more lives can be saved....
The consciousness for the ending of "survival mode" is here! And the beginning of a new paradigm is becoming a reality. Such incredible news! We have such power to make change happen in global ways.

The penny's days are numbered in Canada, as the Royal Canadian Mint has made its final one-cent coin.
Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty and other government officials took part in a ceremonial coin strike Friday at the mint's coin production facility in Winnipeg, to mark the end of production of the penny.
"The humble one-cent circulation coin was a workhorse of Canadian commerce," Flaherty said, recalling the penny's introduction over 100 years ago. "Unfortunately…over time inflation eroded the purchasing power of the penny and multiplied its manufacturing cost.
"The time has come to make the sensible decision to end production of the coin which is underused by Canadians, no longer vital to commerce and ultimately a burden on Canada's balance sheet."
Following a short countdown, Flaherty pressed a button on a machine that stamped the last penny, which tumbled out of the machine into an empty bowl.
That last penny is going to a museum, officials told the CBC's Chris Glover.
The last million pennies to be produced will be made available to the public as a special collector product, said Canadian Mint president and CEO Ian Bennett.
Flaherty and Winnipeg Conservative MP Shelly Glover, the parliamentary secretary to the minister of finance, encouraged Canadians to donate their old pennies to charities like Habitat for Humanity.
In March, Flaherty announced in the federal budget that the penny would be eliminated from Canada's coinage system, citing low purchasing power and rising production costs.
In part because of rising prices for the metals it's made of, it actually costs 1.6 cents to produce every penny.
Ottawa estimates that it loses $11 million a year producing and distributing the penny, and that doesn't include the costs and frustrations for businesses and consumers that use them in transactions.
The government will phase the penny out starting this fall, when the mint will stop distributing the coin to financial institutions.
Winnipeg Centre NDP MP Pat Martin, who had lobbied for years to get the penny scrapped, said he is happy to see the coin finally fade away.
"People don't even bend over to pick them up off the ground anymore. If you throw one in a panhandler's cup, you get the stink-eye from them," Martin told CBC News.
"So, I mean, what good are they, right?"
Business to round out prices
Over time, the penny will effectively become extinct, although the government has noted that one-cent coins will always be accepted in cash transactions for as long as people are holding on to them.
Businesses will be expected to apply rounding to their cash transactions, according to the government.
Martin said rounding up or down prices is a method that works in other countries that have stopped using their low-value coins.
"If it's 96, 97, you round down. If it's 98, 99, you round up. It rounds down as often as it rounds up and you won't even notice," he said.
"All you'll notice is your pockets will be lighter and you won't have a big bucket of pennies under your bed that you have to worry about all the time."
Credit, debit and cheque transactions will be unaffected, so one cent will still be the base unit of Canadian currency.
"There's 30 billion pennies in circulation, you know, already — that's billion with a 'B' — and they produce another billion more every year," Martin said.
"I mean, finally somebody came to their senses."
Collector's item?
With the one-cent coin's demise looming, will your dusty jar full of pennies become a prized collectible?
The short answer is no, says Sheldon Sturrey, owner of Collectibles Canada Coin and Currency in Winnipeg.
Sturrey said pennies produced after about 1940 are not very valuable to collectors.
The most highly prized Canadian pennies are from the 1850s, and some from the 1920s are also valuable, he said.
Sturrey said he has seen people buying rolls of new pennies lately, in the hopes of cashing them in later as vintage collectibles.
"You know, maybe in 20 years they might be, but it's going to be a long time coming; it's not going to be an overnight boom," he said.
In order for a coin to become valuable, it has to have come from a special pressing, Sturrey said.
What's a penny made of?
The Canadian penny currently consists of 94 per cent steel, 4.5 per cent copper plating and 1.5 per cent nickel, according to the Royal Canadian Mint.
Until 1997, the penny was made almost entirely of copper.
If you add up all the copper from all the pennies in Canadians' pockets, buckets and spaces between seat cushions, there is at least 31,000 tonnes of the metal.
At current market prices, that would be worth close to $300 million.
It is only a penny and I probably should not be sad, but I am. Of course I will adjust because there is no choice here. Now we must collect our few pennies, roll them and get them to the bank while the banks are still accepting them.

New study finds mysterious lack of dark matter in Sun’s neighborhood
The results may mean that attempts to directly detect particles of the invisible substance on Earth are likely to be unsuccessful.

The most accurate study so far of the motions of stars in the Milky Way has found no evidence for dark matter in a large volume around the Sun. According to widely accepted theories, the solar neighborhood was expected to be filled with dark matter, a mysterious invisible substance that can only be detected indirectly by the gravitational force it exerts. But a new study by a team of astronomers in Chile has found that these theories just do not fit the observational facts. This may mean that attempts to directly detect dark matter particles on Earth are unlikely to be successful.
A team using the MPG/ESO 2.2-meter telescope at the European Southern Observatory’s (ESO) La Silla Observatory, along with other telescopes, has mapped the motions of more than 400 stars up to 13,000 light-years from the Sun. From this new data, they have calculated the mass of material in the vicinity of the Sun, in a volume four times larger than ever considered before.
“The amount of mass that we derive matches very well with what we see — stars, dust, and gas — in the region around the Sun,” said Christian Moni Bidin from the University of Concepcion in Chile. “But this leaves no room for the extra material — dark matter — that we were expecting. Our calculations show that it should have shown up very clearly in our measurements. But it was just not there!”
Dark matter is a mysterious substance that cannot be seen but instead shows itself by its gravitational attraction for the material around it. This extra ingredient in the cosmos was originally suggested to explain why the outer parts of galaxies, including the Milky Way, rotated so quickly, but dark matter now also forms an essential component of theories of how galaxies formed and evolved.
Today, it is widely accepted that this dark component constitutes about 80 percent of the mass in the universe, despite the fact that it has resisted all attempts to clarify its nature, which remains obscure. All attempts so far to detect dark matter in laboratories on Earth have failed.
By very carefully measuring the motions of many stars, particularly those away from the plane of the Milky Way, the team could work backward to deduce how much matter is present. The motions are a result of the mutual gravitational attraction of all the material, whether normal matter such as stars, or dark matter.
Astronomers’ existing models of how galaxies form and rotate suggest that the Milky Way is surrounded by a halo of dark matter. They are not able to precisely predict what shape this halo takes, but they do expect to find significant amounts in the region around the Sun. But only unlikely shapes for the dark matter halo — such as a highly elongated form — can explain the lack of dark matter uncovered in the new study.
The new results also mean that attempts to detect dark matter on Earth by trying to spot the rare interactions between dark matter particles and “normal” matter are unlikely to be successful.
“Despite the new results, the Milky Way certainly rotates much faster than the visible matter alone can account for,” said Moni Biden. “So, if dark matter is not present where we expected it, a new solution for the missing mass problem must be found. Our results contradict the currently accepted models. The mystery of dark matter has just become even more mysterious. Future surveys, such as the European Space Agency’s Gaia mission, will be crucial to move beyond this point.”

The head of a Buddha statue peeks above the dirt in Handan (map), China, where archaeologists have reportedly unearthed nearly 3,000 Buddha statues, which could be up to 1,500 years old.
The discovery is believed to be the largest of its kind since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, an archaeologist with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences told reporters in late March, according to the Associated Press.
The Buddha statues—most of which are made of white marble and limestone and many of which are broken—could date back to the Eastern Wei and Northern Qi dynasties (A.D. 534 to 577), experts say.
The statues—discovered during a dig outside of Ye, the ancient capital of the Eastern Wei and Northern Qi dynasties—may have been rounded up and buried after the fall of the Northern Qi dynasty by later emperors in an attempt to purge the country of Buddhism.
"It may have been that some of the ruins and broken sculptures from the past were gathered from old temple sites and buried in a pit," said Katherine Tsiang, director of the Center for the Art of East Asia at the University of Chicago.
In some cases, the Buddhist statues may have been buried by the faithful themselves in times of danger.
"In other sites, there are inscriptions that suggest that old damaged sculptures were not just dumped in a pit, but respectfully buried in an orderly way," Tsiang said.

April 16, 2012 – SWEDEN – According to the locals sometimes the tremor around here can last up to 45 minutes!. It looks like something taken straight from a horror movie. An enormous hole leading to hell, some would say. But this is not a movie. This is a real and dangerous phenomenon. New shocking images clearly show the enormous pit in Sweden is expanding. The 200 foot wide open pit is called the “Fabiangropen’ (Fabian pit) and is in the Malmberget area is located at Gällivare, 75km from Kiruna, Sweden. As you can see on the map, it is in the northern regions of Sweden. Due to presence of many orebodies, mining at Malmberget is conducted at different levels at 600m, 815m and 1,000m. The mining company LKAB has now taken new pictures of the pit. In the pictures you see the new Fabian pit which has expanded during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday in the former cavity full width. The pit is square and 150×150 meters high. This is naturally very bad news for people who live close to this giant sinkhole and many are afraid and also annoyed because of the loud noises. –Message to Eagle

Much has been said, especially on Facebook and Twitter about "security" and the "need" to invoke 'secure browsing' lest one gets *hacked".
Recent events have made me take a closer look at these rumours and what I find is basically no different to every other internet scam that has been invented to try to weasle money from people on false pretences and using scare tactics.
In order to put this whole thing into context, there is something that needs to be made very clear from the outset and that is:
NOTHING on a computer that is connected to the internet is SECURE.
This is precisely the reason WHY hackers can do what they do in the first place. And if you think that whilst a good hacker can get into ANY site on the planet, do you really think that your $99 copy of Norton Security or enabling "secure browsing" is going to stop that ?
If you do, then you are making a BIG mistake.
Many people are under the impression that because they have installed some "security program" or other type of protection that that they are "safe".
ALL THIS IS COMPLETE RUBBISH
EVERYTHING that is put out on the internet is accessible.
If you are scared about certain information being seen by somebody then DON'T PUT IT ON A COMPUTER (at least one that has an internet connection.)
What I have found is that this whole https protocol is basically a scare tactic. Various sites will try to convince you that going to normal http sites is dangerous because "your data may be intercepted and/or altered".
Whilst this, in itself, is not a lie, it is extremely misleading.
What it implies is also not only misleading, but a lie as well.
Secure browsing simply encrypts your data for transmission to its destination. But that is only one TINY area! It makes no difference whatsover to what happens AFTER the data gets to the site.
Also, if a hacker REALLY wanted to, he could simply DEcrpyt the data stream and still get to the information you are trying to conceal.
If you own or run a server of any kind, you will know that you can go into your database and get any information you want - email addresses, passwords, names, dates, security or card numbers, age, address - basically ANYTHING that the user has given out.
In the 30 years I have been on the net - and that is virtually EVERY day - I have only ever been "hacked" TWICE - and both times, it was only one of my sites with some spammers posting rubbish links - but MY data has never been touched.
I have used my ATM card on the net hundreds, if not over a thousand times, and never had a problem.
So when a friend of mine skyped me and said he couldn't get into my site because "it wasn't secure", I was MOST surprised.
After investigating the matter, I found out he was trying to look at one of my apps on Facebook and that Facebook showed him this message:

Now, having already spent good money on making my server as secure as possible for users, I was quite perplexed (and a little *pissed off*!) by this, so that gave me reason to investigate this whole thing more deeply.
Basically, the story goes that to avoid this message form coming up, one has to purchase an "SSL certificate" - so I made the usual enquiries to find out how much this would cost. The quotes I got back were all within the range of $65 per year to $199 per year.
On top of that, each one is only valid for 1 (one!) domain.
I have 18 domains, so to make them all "secure" would cost between $1170 and $3582 PER YEAR! - that, on TOP of the already existing hosting charges and doman renewal fees.
Considering I don't make any money from any of these sites, this is absolutely ridiculous!
Also, in view of the dubious value of these "security certificates", I see it as no more than a con to get people to spend money for things that are not really needed.
I can see now how the whole thing works.
Get people scared about hackers, then when they refuse to visit certain sites, those site owners are forced to buy these certificates...
Again, everyone, this is no more and no less than yet another scare tactic.
Another bit of evidence is that even GOOGLE itself has not fallen for this and when you go to http://google.com, you will see that IT is NOT a "secure" site (and neither is this one (Ning).
Surely that should be enough evidence there is something fishy going on here!
Another little "frill" is that normally, this warning message allows you to bypass it and go to the site anyway, but if you receive it on Facebook, it won't even let you do that!
The "Get me outa here!" button has been designed to scare people unecessarily.
So, in summary, if you have secure browsing enabled and are avoiding certain sites because of this message, you are falling into this artificial fear-based mentality that they want to create.
My advice is to switch it off and not support this corrupt campaign.
And please share this message far and wide - it is time we put a stop to these profiteering so-and so's.

POTENCY OF SPEECH & SOUND, DEVAS/CONSCIOUS POWERS

To continue with our reflections on Theos Sophia or divine wisdom, let us examine some more truths about the septenary hierarchies. For this note, the subject of potency of speech & sound will be touched, as this provides us insights about the powers immanent in names and mantra/invocation.
The ‘army of the voice’ or the Word and the dhyan chohans or devas (conscious intelligent powers in nature) are presented, to see how they dovetail into the potency of speech & sound. Let us first note the declaration of the Perfected Ones, in Sloka 4 of Stanza 4, Book of Dzyan, as follows:
THIS WAS THE ARMY OF THE VOICE—THE DIVINE SEPTENARY. THE SPARKS OF THE SEVEN ARE SUBJECT TO, AND THE SERVANTS OF, THE FIRST, SECOND, THIRD, FOURTH, FIFTH, SIXTH, AND THE SEVENTH OF THE SEVEN (a). THESE (“sparks”) ARE CALLED SPHERES, TRIANGLES, CUBES, LINES, AND MODELLERS; FOR THUS STANDS THE ETERNAL NIDANA—THE OI-HA-HOU (the permutation of Oeaohoo) (b).*
HPBlavatsky, magnanimous chela of the mahatmas & chohans, substantiated the said contention, in Volume I, Secret Doctrine, to note:
(a) This Sloka gives again a brief analysis of the Hierarchies of the Dhyan Chohans, called Devas (gods) in India, or the conscious intelligent powers in Nature. To this Hierarchy correspond the actual types into which humanity may be divided; for humanity, as a whole, is in reality a materialized though as yet imperfect expression thereof. The “army of the Voice” is a term closely connected with the mystery of Sound and Speech, as an effect and corollary of the cause—Divine Thought. As beautifully expressed by P. Christian, the learned author of “The History of Magic” and of “L’Homme Rouge des Tuileries,” the word spoken by, as well as the name of, every individual largely determine his future fate. Why? Because—
—“When our Soul (mind) creates or evokes a thought, the representative sign of that thought is self-engraved upon the astral fluid, which is the receptacle and, so to say, the mirror of all the manifestations of being.
“The sign expresses the thing: the thing is the (hidden or occult) virtue of the sign.
“To pronounce a word is to evoke a thought, and make it present: the magnetic potency of the human speech is the commencement of every manifestation in the Occult World. To utter a Name is not only to define a Being (an Entity), but to place it under and condemn it through the emission of the Word (Verbum), to the influence of one or more Occult potencies. Things are, for every one of us, that which it (the Word) makes them while naming them. The Word (Verbum) or the speech of every man is, quite unconsciously to himself, a BLESSING or a CURSE; this is why our present ignorance about the properties or attributes of the IDEA as well as about the attributes and properties of MATTER, is often fatal to us.
“Yes, names (and words) are either BENEFICENT or MALEFICENT; they are, in a certain sense, either venomous or health-giving, according to the hidden influences attached by Supreme Wisdom to their elements, that is to say, to the LETTERS which compose them, and the NUMBERS correlative to these letters.”
This is strictly true as an esoteric teaching accepted by all the Eastern Schools of Occultism. In the Sanskrit, as also in the Hebrew and all other alphabets, every letter has its occult meaning and its rationale; it is a cause and an effect of a preceding cause and a combination of these very often produces the most magical effect. The vowels, especially, contain the most occult and formidable potencies. The Mantras (esoterically, magical rather than religious) are chanted by the Brahmins and so are the Vedas and other Scriptures.
The “Army of the Voice, ‘ is the prototype of the “Host of the Logos,” or the “WORD” of the Sepher Jezirah, called in the Secret Doctrine “the One Number issued from No-Number”—the One Eternal Principle. The esoteric theogony begins with the One, manifested, therefore not eternal in its presence and being, if eternal in its essence; the number of the numbers and numbered—the latter proceeding from the Voice, the feminine Vâch, Satarupa “of the hundred forms,” or Nature. It is from this number 10, or creative nature, the Mother (the occult cypher, or “nought,” ever procreating and multiplying in union with the Unit “1,” one, or the Spirit of Life), that the whole Universe proceeded.
In the Anugîtâ a conversation is given (ch. vi., 15) between a Brâhmana and his wife, on the origin of Speech and its occult properties.* The wife asks how Speech came into existence, and which was prior to the other, Speech or Mind. The Brâhmana tells her that the Apâna (inspirational breath) becoming lord, changes that intelligence, which does not understand Speech or Words, into the state of Apâna, and thus opens the mind. Thereupon he tells her a story, a dialogue between Speech and Mind. “Both went to the Self of Being (i.e., to the individual Higher Self, as Nilakantha thinks, to Prajâpati, according to the commentator Arjûna Misra), and asked him to destroy their doubts and decide which of them preceded and was superior to the other. To this the lord said: ‘Mind is superior.’ But Speech answered the Self of Being, by saying: ‘I verily yield (you) your desires,’ meaning that by speech he acquired what he desired. Thereupon again, the Self told her that there are two minds, the ‘movable’ and the ‘immovable.’ ‘The immovable is with me,’ he said, ‘the movable is in your dominion’ (i.e. of Speech) on the plane of matter. To that you are superior. But inasmuch, O beautiful one, as you came personally to speak to me (in the way you did, i.e. proudly), therefore, O, Sarasvati! you shall never speak after (hard) exhalation.” “The goddess Speech” (Sarasvati, a later form or aspect of Vâch, the goddess also of secret learning or Esoteric Wisdom), “verily, dwelt always between the Prâna and the Apâna. But O noble one! going with the Apâna wind (vital air), though impelled, without the Prâna (expirational breath), she ran up to Prajâpati (Brahmâ), saying, ‘Be pleased, O venerable sir!’ Then the Prâna appeared again, nourishing Speech. And, therefore, Speech never speaks after (hard or inspirational) exhalation. It is always noisy or noiseless. Of these two, the noiseless is the superior to the noisy (Speech) . . . The (speech) which is produced in the body by means of the Prâna, and which then goes (is transformed) into Apâna, and then becoming assimilated with the Udâna (physical organs of Speech) . . . then finally dwells in the Samâna (‘at the navel in the form of sound, as the material cause of all words,’ says Arjûna Misra). So Speech formerly spoke. Hence the mind is distinguished by reason of its being immovable, and the Goddess (Speech) by reason of her being movable.”
This allegory is at the root of the Occult law, which prescribes silence upon the knowledge of certain secret and invisible things perceptible only to the spiritual mind (the 6th sense), and which cannot be expressed by “noisy” or uttered speech. This chapter of Anugîtâ explains, says Arjuna Misra, Prânâyâma, or regulation of the breath in Yoga practices. This mode, however, without the previous acquisition of, or at least full understanding of the two higher senses, of which there are seven, as will be shown, pertains rather to the lower Yoga. The Hâtha so called was and still is discountenanced by the Arhats. It is injurious to the health and alone can never develop into Raj Yoga. This story is quoted to show how inseparably connected are, in the metaphysics of old, intelligent beings, or rather “Intelligences,” with every sense or function whether physical or mental. The Occult claim that there are seven senses in man, as in nature, as there are seven states of consciousness, is corroborated in the same work, chapter vii., on Pratyâhâra (the restraint and regulation of the senses, Prânâyâma being that of the “vital winds” or breath). The Brâhmana speaks in it “of the institution of the seven sacrificial Priests (Hotris). He says: “The nose and the eyes, and the tongue, and the skin and the ear as the fifth (or smell, sight, taste, touch and hearing), mind and understanding are the seven sacrificial priests separately stationed”; and which “dwelling in a minute space (still) do not perceive each other” on this sensuous plane, none of them except mind. For mind says: “The nose smells not without me, the eye does not take in colour, etc., etc. I am the eternal chief among all elements (i.e., senses). Without me, the senses never shine, like an empty dwelling, or like fires the flames of which are extinct. Without me, all beings, like fuel half dried and half moist, fail to apprehend qualities or objects even with the senses exerting themselves.”*
This, of course, with regard only to mind on the sensuous plane. Spiritual mind (the upper portion or aspect of the impersonal MANAS) takes no cognisance of the senses in physical man. How well the ancients were acquainted with the correlation of forces and all the recently discovered phenomena of mental and physical faculties and functions, with many more mysteries also—may be found in reading chapters vii. and viii. of this (in philosophy and mystic learning) priceless work. See the quarrel of the senses about their respective superiority and their taking the Brahman, the lord of all creatures, for their arbiter. “You are all greatest and not greatest,” or superior to objects, as A. Misra says, none being independent of the other. “You are all possessed of one another’s qualities. All are greatest in their own spheres and all support one another. There is one unmoving (life-wind or breath, the ‘Yoga inhalation,’ so called, which is the breath of the One or Higher SELF). That is the (or my) own Self, accumulated in numerous (forms).”
This Breath, Voice, Self or “Wind” (pneuma?) is the Synthesis of the Seven Senses, noumenally all minor deities and esoterically—the septenary and the “Army of the VOICE.”
(b) Next we see Cosmic matter scattering and forming itself into elements; grouped into the mystic four within the fifth element—Ether, the lining of Akasa, the Anima Mundi or Mother of Kosmos. “Dots, Lines, Triangles, Cubes, Circles” and finally “Spheres”—why or how? Because, says the Commentary, such is the first law of Nature, and because Nature geometrizes universally in all her manifestations. There is an inherent law—not only in the primordial, but also in the manifested matter of our phenomenal plane—by which Nature correlates her geometrical forms, and later, also, her compound elements; and in which there is no place for accident or chance. It is a fundamental law in Occultism, that there is no rest or cessation of motion in Nature.* That which seems rest is only the change of one form into another; the change of substance going hand in hand with that of form—as we are taught in Occult physics, which thus seem to have anticipated the discovery of the “Conservation of matter” by a considerable time. Says the ancient Commentary† to Stanza IV. :—
“The Mother is the fiery Fish of Life. She scatters her spawn and the Breath (Motion) heats and quickens it. The grains (of spawn) are soon attracted to each other and form the curds in the Ocean (of Space). The larger lumps coalesce and receive new spawn—in fiery dots, triangles and cubes, which ripen, and at the appointed time some of the lumps detach themselves and assume spheroidal form, a process which they effect only when not interfered with by the others. After which, law No. * * * comes into operation. Motion (the Breath) becomes the whirlwind and sets them into rotation.”‡

Recently, journalist Steven Volk was surprised to discover that leading skeptical psychologist Richard Wiseman has admitted that the evidence for telepathy is so good that “by the standards of any other area of science, [telepathy] is proven.” Mr. Volk goes on to write, “Even more incredibly, as I report in Fringe-ology, another leading skeptic, Chris French, agrees with him.”
Mr. Volk might even be more surprised to learn that back in 1951 psychologist Donald Hebb wrote this:
“Why do we not accept ESP [extrasensory perception] as a psychological fact? [The Rhine Research Center] has offered enough evidence to have convinced us on almost any other issue … Personally, I do not accept ESP for a moment, because it does not make sense. My external criteria, both of physics and of physiology, say that ESP is not a fact despite the behavioral evidence that has been reported. I cannot see what other basis my colleagues have for rejecting it … Rhine may still turn out to be right, improbable as I think that is, and my own rejection of his view is—in the literal sense—prejudice.”
Four years later, George Price, then a research associate at the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota, published an article in the prestigious journal Science that began:
“Believers in psychic phenomena … appear to have won a decisive victory and virtually silenced opposition. … This victory is the result of careful experimentation and intelligent argumentation. Dozens of experimenters have obtained positive results in ESP experiments, and the mathematical procedures have been approved by leading statisticians. … Against all this evidence, almost the only defense remaining to the skeptical scientist is ignorance.”
But Price then argued, “ESP is incompatible with current scientific theory,” and asked:
“If, then, parapsychology and modern science are incompatible, why not reject parapsychology? … The choice is between believing in something ‘truly revolutionary’ and ‘radically contradictory to contemporary thought’ and believing in the occurrence of fraud and self-delusion. Which is more reasonable?”
So, here we have two skeptics in effect admitting that if this were any other field of inquiry then the experimental data would have carried the day by 1950.
Like Price and Hebb before them, both Wiseman and French hold that the claim of telepathy is so extraordinary that we need a greater level of evidence than we normally demand. Why should this be so? Most people believe in the reality of telepathy based on their own experiences, and are puzzled by the description of telepathy as “extraordinary.”
It is even more puzzling when surveys show that a large proportion of scientists accept the possibility that telepathy exists. Two surveys of over 500 scientists in one case and over 1,000 in another both found that the majority of respondents considered ESP “an established fact” or “a likely possibility”—56 percent in one and 67 percent in the other.
Polls such as this suggest that most scientists are curious and open-minded about psi. This, however, does not seem to be the case in one field: psychology. In the former study, only 3 percent of natural scientists considered ESP “an impossibility,” compared to 34 percent of psychologists.
In fact, the most prominent skeptics of psychic abilities today—such as Wiseman, French, James Alcock, Susan Blackmore, and Ray Hyman—are psychologists. An exception is biologist Richard Dawkins, but like Wiseman and French, he is also on record as saying that the existence of telepathy would “turn the laws of physics upside down.”
Failure to Jibe With Other Areas of Science?
Psychologist James Alcock recently wrote that the claims of parapsychology “stand in defiance of the modern scientific worldview. That by itself does not mean that parapsychology is in error, but as the eminent neuropsychologist Donald Hebb pointed out, if the claims of parapsychology prove to be true, then physics and biology and neuroscience are horribly wrong in some fundamental respects.”
But neither Alcock, Hebb, Wiseman, nor French ever bother to explain how the claims of parapsychology “stand in defiance” of science, or how “physics and physiology say that ESP is not a fact.”
Indeed, it is rare for a skeptic to ever back up this claim with specific examples. As I show in my new book “Science and Psychic Phenomena,” on those rare occasions that they do, they invariably invoke the principles of classical physics, which have been known to be fundamentally incorrect for more than three-quarters of a century.

However, a number of leading physicists such as Henry Margenau, David Bohm, Brian Josephson, and Olivier Costa de Beauregard have repeatedly pointed out that nothing in quantum mechanics forbids psi phenomena. Costa de Beauregard even maintains that the theory of quantum physics virtually demands that psi phenomena exist. And physicist Evan Harris Walker has developed a theoretical model of psi based on von Neumann’s formulation of quantum mechanics.
Ray Hyman’s 1996 argument (in the Skeptical Inquirer) that the acceptance of psi would require that we “abandon relativity and quantum mechanics in their current formulations” is thereby shown to be nonsense. Contrast Hyman’s statement with that of theoretical physicist Costa de Beauregard, who has written “relativistic quantum mechanics is a conceptual scheme where phenomena such as psychokinesis or telepathy, far from being irrational, should, on the contrary, be expected as very rational.”
As mentioned earlier, adherence to an outmoded metaphysics of science seems much more prevalent among psychologists than physicists. Skeptics such as psychologist Susan Blackmore are fond of saying that the existence of psi is incompatible “with our scientific worldview”—but with which scientific worldview?
Psi is certainly incompatible with the old scientific worldview, based on Newtonian mechanics and behaviorist psychology. It is not incompatible with the emerging scientific worldview based on quantum mechanics, the neurosciences, and cognitive psychology.
But even before quantum mechanics began to supersede classical mechanics in the 1920s, many physicists were much more open to investigating psi phenomena than most psychologists seem today. An astonishing number of the most prominent physicists of the 19th century expressed interest in psychic research, including William Crookes, inventor of the cathode ray tube, used today in televisions and computer monitors; J.J. Thomson, who won the Nobel Prize in 1906 for the discovery of the electron; and Lord Rayleigh, considered one of the greatest physicists of the late 19th century, and winner of the Nobel Prize in physics in 1904.
Of course, for their efforts in investigating these and other unusual phenomena, these men were often criticized and ridiculed mercilessly by their colleagues.
But modern physics is very different from the classical physics of the 19th century, and it is time the skeptical psychologists realized this. The great psychologist Gardner Murphy, president of the American Psychological Association and later of the American Society for Psychical Research, urged his fellow psychologists to become better acquainted with modern physics.
Murphy wrote in 1968: “… the difficulty is at the level of physics, not at the level of psychology. Psychologists may be a little bewildered when they encounter modern physicists who take these phenomena in stride, in fact, take them much more seriously than psychologists do, saying, as physicists, that they are no longer bound by the types of Newtonian energy distribution, inverse square laws, etc., with which scientists used to regard themselves as tightly bound.… psychologists probably will witness a period of slow, but definite, erosion of the blandly exclusive attitude that has offered itself as the only appropriate scientific attitude in this field. The data from parapsychology will be almost certainly in harmony with general psychological principles and will be assimilated rather easily within the systematic framework of psychology as a science when once the imagined appropriateness of Newtonian physics is put aside, and modern physics replaces it.”
