There are two recognised way of praying, in the traditional Christian the hands are held together.Prayer being a method for the transmitting a type of energy, in this way the energy is withheld.
To effectively send the power out, it must come from the heart centre, the arms spead wide from the open hands. Heat can be felt in the hands when doing this.
Check exodus 17.12 for how this was used, although not to be recommened for that type of situation in these days because of Karmic Law.
