Open access has been working for some years now so these projected dates are sure but not confirmed. As soon as we have this information we will place it here

English Heritage are expected to provide "Managed Open Access" to Stonehenge for the Summer Solstice. Please help to create a peaceful occasion by taking personal responsibility.

'Mystery surrounds this 5,000 year old World Heritage Site. As old as the pyramids in Egypt, was Stonehenge designed as a place of sun worship, or as part of a huge astronomical calendar? Each monument was a circular structure, aligned with the rising sun at the solstice. Erected between 3,000 BC and 1,600 BC, the stones were carried hundreds of miles over land and sea, while antlers and bones were used to dig the pits that hold the stones. An awe-inspiring family visit, Stonehenge is a powerful reminder of the once-great Stone and Bronze Ages'

CAR PARK OPENS: The car park on the Western side, enter off the A303 from the roundabout - it's signposted.
Gates to the car park open - Times to be printed.
Its no good arriving before hand at the car park as you will get diverted away and end up in traffic jams. It takes as long to get in as it does to get out, that was a long time.. So if you arrive early you'll just end up being stuck in a traffic as roads will be closed or made 'one-way' to accommodate a traffic flow..

MONUMENT FIELD GATES OPEN:
Once you get into the car park after settling and stretching our legs we will walk, in my case near on a crawl lol . The gates from the car park to the monument field will open - Times to be printed

SUNSET SUN RISE AND CEREMONIES AT THE MONUMENT CEREMONIES:
There are various ceremonies from various cultures around the stones for sunrise. More ceremonies and entertainments throughout the night.and
continues throughout the night with many different cultures celebrating the longest day of the year.

CODES OF CONDUCT issued by the EH will be made available nearer the time

Police have been present in the area in case of any trouble, generally a jovial and interested moods are experienced.

Toilets and drinking water are available
St Johns Ambulance.
Official food and drink vans

No climbing on the stones.
No camping
No fires,
No Fireworks
No dogs
No Glass bottles
No large bags or rucksacks
LTD Alcohol

Please respect the 'rules' so that we're all able to enjoy the solstice morning at Stonehenge for many more years to be.
