Finally got automatic writing!!!

YAY! After years of trying and then not trying I just felt the urge to 'write a story' so I called upon my guide and asked if they could find someone of love and light to help me write a non-fictional book and lo and behold it all starts coming out.
For those of you that have tried to channel and can't seem to, I'll tell you what I was doing wrong so that it may help.
First of all I was just either waiting for my fingers to start typing magically on their own (lol) or waiting to actually hear someone tell me something. This may seem dumb, but I was doing it.
So basically what I did today was had an intense urge to write a story and it was almost like I was making it up without thinking?? Does that make sense??
Its so hard to explain in words!! lol
It was like my mind was making it up on its own - but really I was getting a relayed message.

So I think I figured it out:
In order for me to do automatic writing (I'm sure people are different though), I must relax, open up and just let it flow through me and (the BIGGY) trust completely in what comes to me and just type type type without reading it intensely or judging it.

Now lets hope I can get back into that mindset tomorrow!

Is there anything anyone does, like focus on a symbol or any other way of getting into that state? I know I'm a bit tired today and that seems to help me get into a trance like state but I would like to find a better means. Thanks.
