According to this article it may just well be that TPTB are trying to reprise the 1929 crash. Their intentions are always impure, and seemingly they are involved in machinations to create act II re that engineered debacle. Would they intentionally create such a nightmare? Rhetorical. Of course they would so long as it benefits them - which it will now, just as it did then
