i was wondering if anyone could tell me what this might mean?

my partner of 3 months has been fantastic for my healing and spiritual growth; he is clearly a soulmate, and possibly my twinflame, yet there are a few things i dont understnad about him.
the most puzzling to me, is that there have been at least 4 occasions now, where i have looked at him and the name that immediately came to my mind was not his, but clearly another name. its not a case of thinking of old boyfriends or other people or anything like that, and this has never happened to me before with other boyfriends or people. his name is karl, but the name that keeps coming up is michael, very clearly, as if it floats there saying this is his name. twice, it has been a succession of names all running one past the other - i cant remember them all, but all the names seemed to belong to him, and his actual name felt like it was wrong for him.
i feel like the names are a significant thing, but i just dont know what it could mean. the only thing i could guess was that it may be different soul fragments, or past lives im seeing - his eyes change a lot, and there have been many times where i have looked into this eyes and thought to myself that i dont know who he is (usually with people i can see their souls through their eyes, it feels round; but with him i cant see that).
