[2 of 365] Poem to read tonight

Last night I committed to writing at least a blog a day, on average. I will share reasons for that later.
Yesterday's blog was posted on 11/7 but was recorded the day of the 6th. Even so, it seemed fitting to
start on 07-11-07! I am going to a poetry reading tonight and I did not bring anything with me so I asked for
a new piece. Here is the conversation. The letters at the beginning are the abbreviation of a chant that came to me
given during an acupuncture session in 1995 or so. I believe the words are sanskrit.

SSSS: Blessed Spirit, I am here to listen tonight at the (computer) keyboard.
I have a poetry reading to attend. Do you have a message for the people there as well as myself?

SPIRIT: Thank you for this opportunity to reach a greater audience.
A great audience. (Yes we have a sense of humor.)
It is time for the awakening. The pit of personal hell in which
Some may find themselves can be shed. Meditation is necessary
Though some will object to that term and the idea that it is required.
There are those who will not listen will turn away from the light
Even still.

SSSS: Shall I speak of it anyway?

SPIRIT: Yes you may.

SSSS: I feel they would be more receptive if it were a poem I shared.
Not preachy but an invitation.

SPIRIT: (and SSSS)

Come with me into the light
Take down your defenses
You don’t need to fight
Open your senses
There are more than just 5
Look deep within
For your inner sight
Listen to the stillness
And quiet your mind
Your own highest self
And God-source-core will find
A way to communicate
Beyond your ego and mind
You will know what is right
Full of awareness of other
Dimensions
You will be able to manifest
Your highest and best intentions
It will take patience and courage
You must know what True Love is.
Not the stuff of fairytales, poems
And novels.
It is deep and full acceptance of self
There is no need to please
Anyone else
You are a perfect creation
Of the Universal Energy Source
If each human could achieve this
There would be no more wars
Against nations,
or brothers, or selves.
Sometimes the most destructive
Action is withholding our love
From others, from the world, but
Most importantly ourselves.
We may have learned a false
Lesson that we are unworthy
but we can rewrite our history
with our intent.
(Reinvent) every cell.
Fill your being with love.
Give yourself what you most
Want to receive, the kindest most
Gentle nurturing hug.
Imagine this and it will be yours.
We are together in this space, but
Many are feeling lonely and alone.
Please know you are loved,
you are precious,
You are home.
Your body is a vessel of light.
It is connected to all that is
Loving, blessed and right.
All you need to do is call.
The energies that you need
To fill the gaps you feel in your being
Will respond,
if you are open to receive.
We send you blessings,
We send you love,
We send you peace.
