Free Will

I thought I felt
pieces of myself
escaping through cracked walls
destination unknown, choosing freedom over captivity

but, like the caged bird
waiting for his chance,
held within a binding grasp
of ensued struggling
to claim rightful air

only seeing

plumage wafting gently
from unsuspecting clipped wings
