Not another puncture. Is that hail coming down ?
Cornwall has an amazing Geographical variation in its landscape. to view it in a few hours and avoid the new roads and buildings (the planners call New Dynamics) now diminishing the wilderness that always was here, I would take the Coastal cycle path from Devoran to Portreath. it stretches for 12 miles between the Atlantic the English Channel and the river Fal, going through old Tin mines and Woods, the Flora and Fauna on this route is breath taking. Some of the route takes me through landscape scarred by industrial waste from another age. Nature is reclaiming it by dressing it with Yellow Gorse flowers and by watching it transform over time is one of my ways of being in awe of God Mother Earth.
The Bicycle is a perfect machine from the symmetry of the wheel with the spokes radiating from a central Hub [if that is not symbolic]to its Buffalo like handle bars. By mounting one of these machines magically it becomes part of you. My Thirty league boots, The freedom the ability to fly at six inches above ground is exquisite. Being one with the machine, non polluting almost silently the Rabbits and squirrels hardly notice me as I glide towards my goal, a beach at the end of the Atlantic and those amazing white seahorses and breakers and honey brown sands and brief meditation at Natures temple to the Solar Luna forces, powerhouse to our little planet. the Ocean.
My family love cycling we make up bicycles from old and new parts . we are up to 'Tip Bike 14' already, We give them to friends and tell them to switch off the Green house Power and turn round the peddles. Can you pass me the oil can? I need to lubracate both the physical and spiritual Bicycle. Thank you.
