Marijuana and spirituality

Hi everyone =)I'm a little puzzled. I'll cut down to the chase. I am 20 years old, so I dont know if age has anything to do with it but I hear that the raising of consciousness has to do with those "aha" moments... or those sudden bursts of love. My awakening happened while meditating and under the influence. I quit using marijuana about 1 month ago. I used it about every once a week and was experiencing "aha" moments all the time. I still meditate everyday and I feel this was enhancing the plants effect. For some reason I decided to quit, something inside me would make me feel a little uncomfortable after the effects had passed, like: a little voice saying that I had only experienced such hightened awarness and surge of love because of the action of ingesting the plant. So, I hae stopped using it. There is one thing though. I dont have these "aha" moments all the time anymore... nor do I feel these bursts of love. Please note that I do not crave using the plant. I feel that it is a tool that for some reason works for me and what I d sort of crave is the hightened awarness it produces.
Does using marijuana affect the ascension process? what do you guys know about this subject? Dont think that I'm seeking approval, I jsut need a little orientation on the subject.
