My trip of a life time is happening!!! wow I know I will be changed forever by this adventure!!!! Our instructions before we left were: Get fit! (16ks on my exercise bike daily, 2 sessions, am and pm. Nose breathing only to get used to oxygen deprivation!) Cleanse! yep! did that! 2 months of strict diet, no red meat, no processed food etc (not too hard as diet was pretty good!) Get to know my new family! hmmm, my shyness was attacked from the start! get used to it Sue, this is the first of many 'put yourself out there situations!!' OK sent my bio and photo to all going on the trip, and really liked the ones I got back. Tyb (James Tyberonn who had arranged the tour) had said This is a family reunion, we are all part of the same family! I looked at the photos and thought 'hmmmmm maybe!' Tour dates changed as we were given the opportunity of taking the plant ceremony with a Shaman, who would come out of the Bolivian amazon, to give us the Ayahausca experience, plus the San Pedro, to enhance the first ceremony! woooo what am I getting into???? Deep breath, googled the Ayahausca ~ Oh no!!! It involves deep purging of blockages by throwing up!!! My only phobia is throwing up!!!Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, but wow, can the Ayahausca reallly do all it says?????? OK, Upset my workmate by saying I was staying longer!said yes, knowing I could change yes to no!!!! Ooooops, now I am on the way, excitement building and then disappearing as the 40 hr journey to Peru continued! Soooooo tired!!and due to a fluid retaining genetic condition, blowing up due to the atmospheric pressure of the planes. I arrived in a very smelly overcrowded city, took a taxi to a hotel, and rested for a few days to get rid of extra fluid and jetlag......................
