Somebody Stop Me! (said like Jim Carrey in The Mask) :-)
So, I think I have the "making movies" bug...and I don't think there is a pill I can take. :-)
This one is dedicated to my Sister Friend Mary. Lately, probably because May, (her Month in the Catholic religion) is around the corner...I am feeling her; being reminded of her loving presence.
While I no longer follow any religion, I am so thankful for my 8 years in Catholic school. There was a sense of peace, love and safety in the routine of it all.
My favorite church celebration was the May Crowning. They didn't do it every year so it was very special. In my eight years there, they only held it twice. Each time I felt as though I had stepped into another dimension as the altar boys carried a life sized statue of Mary down the middle aisle to the altar, where during the mass a lucky 8th grader would crown her, "Queen of the May." (with a beautiful fresh flower crown)
One of the two that I attended, I realized just this year, that I actually SAW Mother Mary. Yes, saw her...but that is another story...for another...video. *giggle* And I am working on it. My own "May Crowning" celebration since they rarely do it now. Oh, I called the church last year and they said they don't do it every year, though they do have a statue and some flowers at the altar on May 1st, so I went. Not the life sized statue, but instead some little "consolation prize" of a statue. (I told you it was huge for me...ha.)
Ave Maria was my grandma's favorite hymn. Today I wished she was still alive, so that I could make her a DVD copy of this...as well as the May Crowning I am working on. I know she would have loved it as she felt very close to Mary too. Oh, I know...she was probably with me while I made it...but the thought of handing her a copy for her DVD and her probably saying something like, "They make the records so tiny these days" as she would then go for the stereo she had since I was a kid.
It was a nice thought.
