Work out Time Zones for Global Events?
Set your local TimeZone for your account
Firstly Be Sure to set your correct Time Zone in your profile. Click MY PROFILE -> EDIT -> Change your timezone (bottom of page).
When you add events. Add them at the local time to you. The system will adjust the times for other people. However its always a good idea to include the UT/GMT Time in the description and heading for future reference.
How to work out your timezone form GMT/UT time?
Some people find this quite confusing, so Ill do my best to make it simple..
GMT/UT Stands for Greenwich Mean Time or Universal Time. This is the Time Base the world works on. Greenwich is in the UK. Now depending on where you are located on the planet, will depend on what time it is where you are and the time it is in Greenwich (GMT).
Here is a visual representation of the Time Zones. Notice Zone (0/Z) this is Greenwich GMT time. As we progress to the right of Zone Z, we add hours to the base time. As we move to the Left of Zone Z, we subtract hours.

EG1. Based upon this. If we were to say its 4pm GMT, and wanted to know what time it would be in France (Zone A, +1 Hr) then we Do 4pm + 1hr = 5pm. When its 4pm in Greenwich/UK its 5pm in France.
EG2. Lets say its 9pm in Greenwhich/UK, and we want to find the relative time in California (Zone U, -8 hours) 9pm - 8hours = 1pm. So when its 9pm in UK, its 1pm in California.
So If we were to say, we are doing a Group Meditation at 9pm GMT time. And you live in California, you would participate at (9pm-8hrs) 1pm. A person in France would participate at (9pm+1hr) 10pm.
The easiest way is to use an online convertor.
Sample online World Clock Converter : http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
To use this online time tool, just enter the Advertised GMT Event time in the first section, and convert To, your local Time (Select your country and city) in the second section.
Hope this helps :)
