I meditated and my mind wandered
In thoughts of beauty
Of a radiant world of high mountains and deep valleys
Filled with light and color and transparent beings
Enchanted in a rapture of constant beauty
I told myself, wake up!
You are daydreaming
You must focus more deeply

I meditated and my mind wandered
In thoughts of ecstasy
Of waves of joy flowing through me
From the gentle softness and warmth
Of a lover’s body
I told myself, wake up!
You are daydreaming
You must focus more deeply

I meditated and my mind wandered
In thoughts of activity
Of giving and receiving
Of removing what is old and broken
And building what is missing and needed
I told myself, wake up!
You are daydreaming
You must focus more deeply

I focused more deeply and discovered
That my heart never wandered
It spoke to me of an existence
Where beauty and ecstasy and activity
Are full and endless
I saw that all my dreams
Were faint whispers of my home
And I formed in my mind three thoughts
Three lenses to converge my being
On a single point

This is real
I must find it
Nothing else matters
