ASTEROID FLYBY: Newly-discovered asteroid 2012 BX34 is flying past Earth today only 77,000 km (0.2 lunar distances) away. There is no danger of a collision with the 14-meter wide space rock. Advanced amateur astronomers might be able to observe the flyby as the bus-sized asteroid brightens to 14th magnitude just before closest approach on Jan. 27th at 1530 UT. X-FLARE: Departing sunspot 1402 unleashed an X2-class solar flare today, Jan. 27th, at 18:37 UT. Click on the image to view a movie of the extreme ultraviolet flash recorded by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory:
Sunspot 1402 is rotating onto the far side of the sun, so the blast site was not facing Earth. Nevertheless, energetic protons accelerated by the blast are now surrounding our planet, and an intensifying S1-class radiation storm is in progress.
The explosion also produced a spectacular coronal mass ejection (CME): SOHO movie. Analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab say the cloud raced away from the sun at 2500 km/s or 5.6 million mph. The CME is not heading toward Earth, although it is too soon to rule out some kind of glancing blow on Jan. 28-29. Stay tuned for updates. Solar flare alerts: text, voice.
CORONA CONJUNCTION: "Last night I went outside to photograph the Venus-Moon conjunction, and I got more than I bargained for," reports Robert Arn of Fort Collins, Colorado. "The Moon and Venus both had an incredible corona surrounding them. The sight was beyond words (but not beyond pictures)." He recorded the scene in this 5-second exposure @ ISO 400:
Coronas are caused by tiny water droplets in thin clouds, which diffract the light of bright heavenly bodies to produce iridescent halos, as shown above. Seeing one corona in the night sky is not uncommon; however, seeing two in close proximity is a rare treat. Another "corona conjunction" could be in the offing. The Moon is moving past Venus for a meet-up with Jupiter on Jan. 29th. If the two align behind a moist, thin cloud--voilà!

AURORAS OVER THE USA: The geomagnetic storm of Jan. 24th died out before night fell over North America--or did it? According to reports still trickling in, auroras were reported not only in Canada, but also in some of the lower 48 US states. Shawn Malone of Marquette, Michigan, took this picture looking north from the shores of Lake Superior:
"I got to view a slice of the aurora through a tiny opening in an otherwise completely overcast sky," says Malone. "It appeared to be a pretty decent display."
Prompted by the CME warning, Mike Hollingshead of Nebraska drove 450 miles to the Badlands National Park of South Dakota hoping to catch a glimpse of the auroras. He got more than he bargained for: "While I waited for some sign of auroras, the most amazing fireball I've ever seen blasts down. It flashed brightly and illuminated the terrain around me." Later, the auroras made a belated appearance, turning the badland sky green.
More auroras could be in the offing. A solar wind stream is heading for Earth, due to arrive on Jan. 28-29. NOAA forecasters estimate a 15% chance of geomagnetic storms at high latitudes. Aurora alerts: text, voice.

Another Flare Under Way
Fri, 27 Jan 2012
Updated at 2:53 pm ET (1953 UTC). Even though the flare peaked and quickly subsided, the proton flux at GOES as risen substantially. Here is the GOES protons fluxes (different colors are different energies). A flare at the limb shouldn't produce a large increase in the proton flux, but this one did!
It's a great week for Space Weather!

X 2 Class Solar Flare & S2 Radiation Storm
Active Region 11402 located on the northwestern limb, unleashed a major X1.7 Solar Flare at 18:35 UTC. S2 level Radiation Storm threshold has been exceeded, R3 Level Radio Blackout, 100 MeV proton spike is in progress and a 10cm Radio Burst (TenFlare) was reported. Immediately after this flare a Full Halo coronal mass ejection (CME) was observed and components may brush the earths magnetic field Jan 30th.
The Recent Solar Flares From Daniel Jacob:
January 28, 2012, 10:20 am
The recent Solar Flares which have been bombarding the Earth have been challenging to many of us. The more sensitive we tend to be, the more intensely we are affected. The CMEs which hit Earth on January 25 were equivalent to about 10 full moons in how they affected the emotional body!
People react to this incoming energy in a number of ways. Some folks gather it into themselves, in an effort …to ground and buffer the them into their personal universal flow. It’s a skill we learned in childhood—living in dysfunctional family settings. Others become like armadillos—seeking to avoid contact with new energy at all costs! BOTH these reactions are extreme—and then tend to delay the process of Transmutation that is trying to move us all forward. In times like these, we need to learn how to SHARE THESE INCOMING VIBRATIONS with the Whole Planet. We must allow our fellow humans the priviledge of change and growth—even if it appears unpleasant. In my experience, the best way to determine my own level of “sharing”………not absorbing all the turbulence, not running from it………is to use my surrounding universe like a mirror.
Do people all around us appear to be smiling and enjoying life, while we feel miserable? If so, that means we’re HOGGING ALL THE ENERGY and we need to let it move through us and on to others in our immediate vicinity. Do we feel happy and carefree, while our “reflections” suffer and cry out in pain? Then we may wish to slow down a bit, and allow our feelings to catch up with us. Let’s face it folks. Change is going to come. Why run from it, by staying so busy we can’t feel? Our decisions about “energy flow” are personal, and they must go according to our own timing and own choice.
However, many are asking me lately: “How can I assist the Planet as She goes through this birthing process?” It is for those folks that I am sharing today.
Enjoy the ride!!! ~DJ.

Breaking News: Unexpected X-Class Fires Off From Region 1402
|by Mitch Battros - Earth Changes Media
A major X-class solar flare is now in progress. The X1.7 flare fired off from sunspot region 1402 Friday Jan. 27 which peaked at 1837 UT. A pulse of highly charged particles are heading towards Earth, but should present only a glancing blow.
Region 1402 is just now making its way around the western limb of the Sun, hence the X-class flare and following CME (coronal mass ejection) should present a partial stream Earth directed.
However, a coronal hole high-speed stream continues to shower Earth's magnetic field.
Sunspots => Solar Flares (charged particles) => Magnetic Field Shift => Shifting Ocean and Jet Stream Currents => Extreme Weather and Human Disruption (mitch battros 1998).
This is the first X-class flare of 2012, and I expect several more in the next 18 months which could escalate into the X-7+ range. Watch for extreme weather events over the next 72 hours which includes earthquakes, volcanoes, tornadoes, sudden temperature shifts.

Oh thank you! The reason why I asked was because I was "awakened" and felt it may be because of solar flares ...and then to see the chart gave me validation. I am trying to be aware of my body and emotions. Both are heightened.

that explosion, and the "snow particles" looked like they were starting up again, I don't understand how they call them protons, as if you can see protons in space, even clusters of protons, still not visible to a satellite telescope camera. Are these the Adamantine particles? To me they are. Leads to the our ascending to the Christed Self, the ascended light body, silicon vs, carbon based, capable of 5th and higher D abilities. Great blog, Love, Karen
Hi Kate:)to Me It Looks Like
January 27, 2012, 10:55 pm
to me it looks like each dateline runs from midnite to midnite,
with 8 breaklines every three hours..?
so it looks like to me the 1st three hours of the 27th...and onward.
Look at that proton spike !
how do you see it? does anyone know for sure how to read the graphs ???
early evening my head felt intense pressure
esp in the frontal lobe along with very high pitch pulse ringing/chiming
mostly in my right ear.
love Yous , me

I am hoping you can help me read this graph....when it spikes.....is that like midnight our time? on the 26th?? or???
Do you know?
What An Awesome

What an awesome day!!!
first thoughts on the Moon and Venus....oooh it's their subtle energetic lightbodies shining through...
That's Cool! The Second
January 27, 2012, 9:17 pm
That's cool! The second picture, I noticed that the moon is only half lit. My first thought was yin/yang. There is def. a balance of things taking place!
