Creating:
I would like to share the music that I can't help but create with as many people as possible. If one person finds what I've found because of something I've created in finding it, then I've contributed to something so much larger than myself. Success, in this arena, is exponential, not financial.

Awakening:
11/11/05. The day I stopped drinking. Of course there was growth before, but I wouldn't say it counted for much except foundation lessons on what not to do, and what not to believe in. I wouldn't say I honestly believed in anything until my first weekend out of rehab. I've felt like I was communicated with for a long time, however, one Sunday morning, it was made clear how tangible that communication was. I've always seen freight trains at moments that seemed a little more than coincidence. For me they were a symbol of power, of change, of movement, and when things got really tough, I would see a train and remind myself that I was not stagnant, that progress was being made. It occured to me after a few weeks of sobriety that I was on that train. It was me heading full blast down the tracks destroying anything in my path and by ommitting the booze, I had the opportunity to get off the train and see what was going on. At any point I can get back on and the journey will pick up right where it left off which would place me 6 feet under in a matter of months. I was entertaining this realization in a park over a cigarette when a train rolled by. Now, I was standing near railroad tracks so there are a lot of trains, but this one, when I saw it and thought I'm not on that train anymore; this one came to a stop right in front of me. I cried the whole way home, but no tears I'd ever experienced felt so good. It's been a wild ride since and the communication hasn't ceased. Far from it.
