We are energy beings so what we think and feel can affect our bodies. We know that solid objects are really worlds of molecules and atomic particles, rotating, vibrating and orbiting. Inside of the particles are subatomic particles, those particles are also waves of energy, both matter and energy can act as a particle or a wave. As Einstein indicated these two states become each other.

Because we are energy beings we can be influenced by many things that stimulate the energy and those form into matter. The stimulation can come from within us outward or outside in.
The energy we hold in our body projects outward, the energy we receive from others projects inward, together they mix and create our state of well being. When people come for appointments before they lie on the reiki table or sit down for a reading, I can sense the energy that they are projecting outward. The energy that is projected outward is both of mix of what they are thinking, feeling and experiencing and also what is coming into their lives in the form of new experiences, illness, or even new people. Surrounding them may be angels and spirit guides. Their chakras will be spinning healthily or be slow or blocked, sometimes their chakras will be extended outward as they seek resolution for an issue, or comfort for a pain.

This energy is constantly flowing and becomes our individual energy field that includes our physical body. This is our identity, our being. Because we consist of both matter and energy they are in constant state of flux. Even though it may appear on the outside that change is slow, on the inside, in the interior where energy is mixing, change is happening continually.
What this means is that our influences whether they are internal as in what we think, believe, feel, and act or external, what comes to us from others, food, environment, all the internal and external are continual mixtures that keep shaping and forming until they can manifest in the physical body.

The person who walks in with shoulders drooped, upper back strain, may be feeling inside they are overburdened.
The one who feels nervous and full of anxiety may be having an upset stomach.
The one who never gets to speak for herself and what she believes may develop throat issues.
There is a corresponding energetic relationship, never to be about judgment but awareness.

Your personal vibration – your personal energy field – although it is in a state of flux is what you project outward – which is why many psychics, intuitive can read your energy – but for even those who don’t believe that they are reading your energy – they are in how they react to you. What is most important is that you, yourself, can greatly influence your energy field.

Several Techniques:

Meditation and Higher Consciousness Healing:

In meditation and in sleep we go into a detached consciousness. We connect to the higher realms, often journey, or at times as in meditation connect to the universal consciousness. This state of detachment allows us to experience more healing than when we are focused upon healing. The reason is that we become detached so we are not feeding any energy into the problem through our thoughts but we are also connected to the immense healing potential that exists in the universal consciousness.
There is a paradox here. As we are detached it is the best time to set forth a healing intention because it is formed from a dimension that has pure creative power to it. Yet in order to set forth a healing intention we must be more detached. Too much of a focus and the healing intention may carry the worry or emotional pain involved. So the process then becomes a matter of detaching and then setting forth a healing intention.

A way that we automatically detach is through our sleep. There is a moment when we are first awakening before we thoroughly connect to our physical presence. This moment can contain the memories of dreams that occurred the night before but it also can be a moment of pure consciousness. I observed this moment when I was suffering from an ear infection. Before I fully become present upon awakening there was a moment, however, brief when I began to awaken and that is the moment when I set forth the intention to heal my body. In that moment I felt no discomfort or pain until I fully re-entered my body, or became fully conscious. In some ways as I regained full consciousness I reclaimed the discomfort of my ear infection. So going into that moment the next morning I asked for the best healing to come to me. I was guided to see someone both affordable and that gave me a simple technique to relieve my ear blockage.

To do this technique, I realized that in that state of consciousness, I could set forth an intention in other areas of my life as well. Intention – set the intention the moment when you first awaken before you feel that you are in your body completely, that is the moment to set the intention to be well.

It is important to note that mind-body healing is not always simultaneous – often times it sets in motion events and choices that bring about the healing experience.

In meditation, to do self-healing, one needs to get into a state of detachment where one becomes the silent observer of the thoughts and of the body. This takes practice. One technique to arrive there in a more quick fashion is to meditate as normally, focusing upon the breath and allow yourself to watch your thoughts becoming unattached to any thoughts that enter into your mind. Soon the thoughts lessen and their intensity or demand for your attention will begin to lessen. When you have felt that you can detach from yourself see yourself as taking a step back and two steps up. This step back and two steps up is taking your spirit, the you that connects to the universal consciousness into a state of detachment. The step back helps you to become the observer, the two steps up heightens your observation and helps you to detach from any involvement in the thoughts that may enter your mind. It is a simple intention “one step back two steps up” to direct yourself. After you have done that you will be in a detached state where you will be more of a witness to yourself than a participant. Thoughts can slow down to the point that there will be gaps between your thoughts. Those gaps of time are when you are most connected to the universal consciousness. This takes practice but state in this state for as long as you can. If you feel yourself coming out go back to your breath and repeat the direction “ one step back two steps up” Practice this several times until you get used to the sensation of being the observer.

After a few moments of being the observer shift a detached focus to whatever area the health problem is. Then simply send a directive to heal in an affirming way. Then detach again. This is also a time when you can observe any resistance to the healing process.

The reason that it works is because in this stillness of the mind where your consciousness connects to where the universal consciousness resides and it becomes one, creation can happen. So you are in essence creating well being in that moment.

Another method, polarity healing, is good for passing healing energy from one area of your body and into another. Let's say that your left knee is bothering you. Take your right hand and place it on your right knee, and then place your left hand over your left knee. This sets up what I call a polarity. Now, send energy from your good knee into your bad knee. Feel that energy pass from your good knee, up your arm, and down the other arm and into the bad knee. What you are doing here is taking good knee-energy and sending it to the other knee, replacing that bad-knee energy. The polarity healing is very good in that the energy is already predisposed toward that particular area of the body and, as such, will pass and be used easily by the inflicted area. Spend several minutes passing the energy from one limb to the other.

Heart chakra healing:
You use the heart chakra energy in the healing process because the heart center is the only energy center that can take pure spiritual energy and transmute it to a form that the physical body can use. Visualize heart chakra energy expanding all over your body this can be green in color, feel the love for yourself and then focus on the healing area, sending it love. Be grateful for that part of your body that is in need, appreciating all that it has done for you.

Intuitive Connection:

Developing body intuition - listening in and taking steps long before anything manifests into the physical

Many clients have shared with me how they have known something was amiss with their bodies long before their doctor confirmed their suspicions. Much of the time they would ignore the body signals that something wasn’t right. Usually it manifested in ways of a sudden pain, a negative feeling such as concern, the body feeling extra tired, thinking about a body part more than usual, being attracted to medical news or health articles about that body part. If they did listen to their intuition often they would go to the doctor and the doctor would not find anything because it had not manifested in the physical yet. They would come to me for reiki and that is when I would sense what was going on and hopefully reverse the process back toward health. If they ignored it quite often it then manifested in the physical some time later which would resulted in them going to the doctor.

Many do not recognize that the body is sending them messages until those messages become loud and disruptive – pain and discomfort. What we can do is to check in with our body intuitively to get an idea of where we might need healing whether that healing is medical, energy or preventative. To help one get in touch intuitively with their body, we need to be able to take a journey inside the body as an observer, to quietly connect to our body without fear. To allow our intuition to flow as we scan our body and listen to what it is telling us.

Beacons of Light:

To do this, go into a state of meditation, and just deeply relax. You can sit up or you can lay down if you are not too tired. Now set forth the intention in your mind for your body to begin to send you signals of any distress. You can say it out loud if you like. Think of the signals as similar to a small boat out on an ocean in the dark sending out beacons of light to ask for assistance. Slowly wait seeing if your body begins to send you out distress signals of beacons of light. Release any expectation of what is to come because even if you do have a health problem currently that beacon of light may be weaker if the problem is on the mend, being healed. Some of these beacons of light may flash small as these are minor issues. Some may flash bright as these can indicate some larger issues. Do not become attached to which one is bright or larger or small. Just observe the flashes of light.
For those who are not as visual, observe any senses you feel in your body. Some may feel a rumbling or be drawn to focus on a certain area of their body while others may feel twitching sensations.
You don’t need to identify the beacons of light as any condition or illness, simply observe where they are and what body part they are associated with. You may wish to write them down for later use in doing self healing with reiki, intentions or meditative techniques.

Scanning Intuitive Technique:
This intuitive technique you will need to ly down to begin. Get into a calm meditative state. Ask your body to send you signs of areas that need healng. This is a technique used in reiki but can be used for those not reiki attuned. Allow your mind to relax with no expectations. Raise your hands toward your head a few inches above your head. Slowly move your hands instemove your hands very slowly in order to scan or sense any potential problems. Keep moving your hands down your body a few inches above your body. As you move downward at any time you feel a need to stop or sense a block which can be a energy condensation or buildup, stop there and take a mental note. If you feel you want to linger in any area a long time then that also is an indication. During this scanning process you may get images, sensations, feel heat rising up to your hands or get a knowing – such as certain words may come to your mind. Observe and return to keeping the mind clear. Next, begin to sit up so you can scan your lower body and continue down the legs to the feet.
Observe any points where you felt any sensations or a need to linger. You can do this multiple times in order to observe the sensations. You may sense your chakras spinning or feeling blocked. You may sense pins coming up or heat rising, or your body may respond by shifting itself physically.
Keep a mental note of what you observed or write it down in order to then proceed to the next healing phase.

Checking In:
At different times of the day we can intuitively check in with our body to sense what is going on, if anything. One time to do that is when we are working out. Often the drive and will to get a good workout can override the sensation that our body is sending us about our health. Pay attention to the little signals that you may receive when you are stretching your muscles. As what can happen is that the energy blocks that may be there may be vibrating and thus releasing sending messages to your mind. Pay attention to what your body tells you.

Balancing the See Saw Technique:

Thoughts can heal. What happens for many is that when they are in pain or worried about an illness, condition, disease or problem, they may have a difficult time utilizing their thoughts to create healing. So the answer may lie in turning to other thoughts, thoughts that make one happy, whether they are memories, joyful experiences, anticipation of good things to come, a senses of love or harmony, whatever the thought is, that is the thought that has to become the thought that offers the healng to the afflicted area.
How this works is to think of a deeply pleasant experience such as falling in love, holding your baby, exuberance at acing a test, when someone told you they loved or appreciate you, find any of these experiences and think about them. Allow only positive thoughts to come into the experience. Feel the feeling of joy, love, peace or contentment you felt hold onto that feeling for as long as you can and then think of the area that needs the healing. Return to the happy thought then think of the area that needs healing, return to the happy thoughts, then think of the area that needs healing, begin to do this more rapidly. Here is an example:
Happy Thoughts About Childhood Experience - Problem area sore knee
First thoughts – what a joy it was to get my first bike, I remember it was shiny and blue, and new and my family told my how much they loved me as they handed it to me, I was so happy it was my 10th birthday and I was overjoyed. They were so kind to me, I will never forget that wonderful moment.

First the energy of this will feel like a see saw – you will feel up when you think of the happy thoughts and down when you thnk of your knee.
Knee – my knee has been hurting a lot lately I am worried arthritis is coming on

Second thoughts – feeling happy, connecting to that feeling of joy, being love, happy seeing the bike

Knee – reduce your thoughts about the knee to simply the knee

Third thoughts – happy, love joy, family bike

Knee – briefly think of knee

Fourth Thoughts – happy feel the happiness
Knee think of knee
Now begin to connect the feeling of happiness with the knee by thinking of happiness then quickly think of your knee, quickly return to happy thought, then back to knee.
Happy-knee-happy-knee,-happy –knee
Until the happiness you feel becomes associated with the problem area of the knee until the knee is no longer associated with being a problem but is now a happy knee.
As you continue to do the quick sequence the knee begins to lose its negative thought association as the happy thought replaces it. Eventually, the see sawbalances out with both being happy. Then in the future whenever you feel the knee problem you simply return to the happy knee sequence.

Summary: these techniques are to empower the person to help to heal their bodies as well as spirit and are never to be taken for a replacement of medical care but in concert with.
