There was once a brave young Indian boy and it was his time to go up to the mountains to be tested as a man for 7days day. If he survived the seven days the people of his tribe would consider him very brave and he would become a man.

What made this test so hard, was he had to go alone with no food, or tools, or even weapons to protect himself in the wilderness.

On the first day he found some berries to eat. On the second day he found nothing. On the third day he found nothing.

After 3 days of almost no food or water or shelter from the elements he was close to death.

But on the 4th day he found a snake and was ready to kill him as his life saving food.

When the snake talked to him... the snake said: please do not eat me and grant me my life, and in return I will show you were to find food, water, and shelter.

The Indian boy thought about the snakes offer and decided to accept.

Together they ate like kings for the rest of the week. They played and enjoyed the comforts of their shelter.

On the Seventh day, it was time for the boy Indian to return to the bottom of the mountain and prove he was now a man and had survived his test. He invited the snake to join him down the mountain on his journey.

When they reached the botton of the mountain..His family and friends were so happy to see him and so proud. He explained how the snake had helped him and he reached down to give thanks to his snake friend ...when the snake bite him with his poisoness venom...
and the indian boy lay dying and asked his friend the snake ..why did you do this, I thought we were friends...and the snake replied:
I bite you because you forgot I was a snake!
