Channeling is a natural process that occurs within almost every being. The use of the intuition is commonplace. Guides and angels are assigned to us early in life and many of the decisions we make on our path are aided by their presence. I have taught hundreds of beings how to advance their basic intuitive nature into a channeling state. The difference is simple. Using the intuition as a singular tool combines its emphasis with the awareness of the ego. Channeling negates most of the ego’s presence and allows pure imagination to assist the intuitive ability. There are a number of tools that are used throughout society as an aid to developing this combination. The Tarot is a great example where the cards start out with a particular meaning and then graduate into an imaginative sense. Dowsing and Runes are other tools that allow expansion of the intuition.
The primary block in channeling is the ability to calm the ego. The solution is to distract it to the point where notions are pure and unfiltered. In my many classes I would begin with simple breathing exercises to expand the amount of oxygen in the brain. We are primarily shallow breathers from the chest instead of deep breathers from the belly. It’s not that we breathe from the belly but if we allow our midsection to expand as we breathe, oxygen gets deeper into the lungs. As we breathe in this manner I also add what is known as a ‘mental asana’. We combine a full breath pattern with a visualization practice. We simply place a blackboard in our minds eye and then place an object on that blackboard. A simple cross or circle or number is fine and the object is to hold that object in place, undistorted for as long as we can. The ego will attempt to change its shape or intervene and eliminate it all together. Just keep taking deep breaths and putting the object back up until you can hold it for about five to ten seconds.
When we are satisfied that the mind is still, with neither the past nor the future entering the mind, we slow the breathing and observe the first thought that comes into the mind. This will be simple at first and similar to advice our guides have been offering all our lives. There will also be cliché statements of ideas we have experienced from other channels we know or channeled material we have read. The objective is to go back into the breathing pattern, reestablish the mental asana, slow the breath, and take down another idea. Repeat this five times, journaling your thoughts as you go. Add a candle at this point and stare into the flame. Begin the breathing and instead of the mental asana, invoke the presence of angelic and ascended beings - all beings of light and love - to assist you. Simply affirm the presence of Mother/Father/God/Goddess/Angels/ Archangels/Ascended Masters/All Beings of Light and Love to enter the discussion. You can also prepare a list of questions you have and enter them into your breathing period. This, of course, takes practice but over time you will see a change in the nature of what you are receiving.
