Bible Being Rewritten AGAIN

Conspiracy theories and videos

Both MSNBC & Stephen Colbert reported this Wednesday.

A conservative religious site has begun rewriting several books of the bible’s new testament to change words they consider liberally oriented to ones that reflect their extreme partisan political view. Their view of what constitutes "liberal" words is startling.

The site follows w/ some excerpts from it:

“Building on the King James Version

In the United States and much of the world, the immensely popular and respected King James Version (KJV) is freely available and in the public domain. It could be used as the baseline for developing a conservative translation without requiring a license or any fees. Where the KJV is known to be deficient due to discovery of more authentic sources, exceptions can be made that use either more modern public domain translations as a baseline, or by using the original Greek or Hebrew.

There are 66 books in the KJV, comprised of 1,189 chapters, 31,102 verses, and 788,280 words.[6] The project could begin with translation of the New Testament, which is only 27 books, 260 chapters, 7,957 verses, and less than 200,000 words.

Retranslation at rate of 20 verses a day would complete the entire New Testament in about a year. With 5 good retranslators, that would be an average of only 4 verses a day per translator. At a faster rate of 20 verses per day by 5 good translators, the entire New Testament could be retranslated in less than 3 months.

First Example - Liberal Falsehood

The earliest, most authentic manuscripts lack this verse set forth at Luke 23:34:[7]
Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."
Is this a liberal corruption of the original? This does not appear in any other Gospel, and the simple fact is that some of the persecutors of Jesus did know what they were doing. This quotation is a favorite of liberals but should not appear in a conservative Bible.”

This continues w/ a discussion about how the bible promotes socialism!!!

Well, at least this time we are being forewarned about this document being rewritten & manipulated to fit a particular group’s views.

This site is run by the son of right winger Phyllis Schlafly who worked tirelessly against women's rights & once notably quipped that virtuous women don't get sexually harassed on the job. Say What?

This gives us an excellent up-close real life example of the weird political dynamics that were likely present when the original religious documents were rewritten into what has come down to us as the King James Bible. This manipulation would have occurred much easier 2000 years ago as those who were in power had virtually no other parties to object to or document what they were doing in customizing the bible to fit their political needs.

Great Point.

Only God and true prophets can write Scripture. False prophets be damned!

They better include the changes since 1996, and those I predicted would come true, and did, in 2006.

Why can't they consult ME about these changes? Because they want you to believe I DO NOT EXIST!

Silly Conservatives!

Maybe they're going to chop this bit out too:

Revelations, Chapter 22, verses 18 & 19:

'For I testify unto every man that shall heareth the words of
the prophesy of this book. If any man shall add unto these things,
God shall add unto him plagues that are written in this book:

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this
prophesy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and
out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.'

Blessings - O
